People who are dogging this movie obviously are looking for something else so don't understand why you would go see an action movie and expect anything different. This movie was NON STOP ACTION from start to finish. Do not miss the opening scene because it is great, and the action lasts until the very end. If you are looking for a great story, then you need to go to another movie, this movie delivers just what it promises, and if you like action and great action effects and BIG GUNS then you will love it. You will never see a pairing of these actors again. Go see this movie you will love it.

I didn't go in expecting an epic action adventure.. I went in expecting to see some high octane action via some names that I always enjoy seeing and I was not disappointed. The last 30 minutes were just crazy fun to watch. The combat scenes during that span were just a ton of fun to watch. The cast was great. Dolph did an absolute great job. I'm glad that Van Damme turned down the spot.

I figured it would be another shoot-em-up movie....it was, but it is one of the best action movies i've seen in a long time!! Maybe I expected a little too much from the previews of this movie, but, I doubt it. I've been a fan of action movies my whole life, and grew up watching most of these guys, but, I have now lost allot of the magic with most of them.
The movies plot was very bland, the acting very generic, and the comedic parts, were all in the preview, along with The Guvna's only tiny part.
In all, I say avoid this movie like the plague. It's horrible.

Expendables was okay. Not much better than that. Given the reviews I read, I had expected much better. Worth watching just to prove that these guys can all still move without physical assistance. Pleasantly surprising to see that almost all of them have worked on their American accents over the last several years. But not a standout film.

Good to see the "old guys" still competing with the young ones. Stallone was great - Lundgren was his normal understated self - love to watch him teach someone a lesson. Would have liked more of Willis. Good vs. evil and the good guys win!

The Expendables could easily have been titled The Imbeciles. After a few minutes into the film I thought it was a spoof on action/adventure films; some kind of geriatric action adventure. Very boring plot, one-syllable-word dialog, cheesy special effects, poor acting. Sly looks old/effeminate, Bruce and Arnie are on the screen for less than 2 minutes--they just stand there smirking and say a few forgettable lines, with a few 'bad' words (oooo, I'm scared...). When you're just about to fall asleep or burst out laughing from the juvenile script, silly graphics, and feigned emotions, the music gets really loud--wake up! Don't go see this movie. Let them save face. Show some respect for the memory of these once-incredible actors, and see a different movie.

I went with my husband to see this not expecting much. I have to say I really enjoyed the movies though. I laughed and I found myself getting excited when they blew something up. Well I certainly do. I haven't had this much fun at a movie since I can't remember when. This movie had what every good action movie should have. Great bad guys, great over the top action set pieces, great cast overall, cheesy one liners and of course a sexy leading lady with just enough screen time to keep the guys interested, but not muddle the movie with an over melodramatic love story that, lets face it, in action movies, never quite feels like it works. Stallone knows what his meat eating, beer drinking audience wants to see, blood, fisticuffs and more explosions than most summer action flicks combined. This was the first time in a long time that an audience actually cheered several times throughout the movie. Something few films move audiences to do (except maybe 300, Dark Knight and Star Wars). If you want a FUN time at the theater where you can turn your brain off and just cheer along with the crowd. THIS is your film. Enjoy....but don't over think it.

My dad and I both love violent action films. But there was more horribly acted, dry plot than explosions which I was guaranteed. The humor was terrible. The effects were crap, In the final fight scene after a large explosion I could honestly see the crappy special effects of where fire and smoke was placed. I saw this a lot. The bloody scenes were also mostly fake with special effects. It made everything look very unrealistic. I've got nothing wrong with using special effects in place of the real deal, but perhaps they find someone else for their CGI.
I didn't have high hopes for the acting, but I did for the violence and explosions. Even the girl we purchased our tickets from was trying to show off that she saw the movie alone rather than with a husband, boyfriend, or dad. Here I am with my father. She sounded like this movie was full of explosion after explosion.
Anyway, I don't know what I'm missing here that makes everyone love this movie so much. It's crap, my dad even said it's one of the worst movies he's ever seen.

This was an awsome movie action thriller and comedy. To have all these great names in one movie i thought was excellent and they are great actors. I reccomend this movie to everyone.

I was kinda of looking forward to this movie given I like the work of most of the stars individually, but I couldn't have been more disappointed. There is no storyline here. Instead there is just a series of flimsy plot points that allow a tremendous amount of very graphic violence. Bodies blowing up, heads chopping off and all in an atmosphere more like a video game than a large studio movie. Even my husband said there was too much superfluous killing.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Haven't seen a action movie like this in a long time. was great seeing all the action greats interacting with each other kinda felt like the legends were passing the torch to the next generation of action stars.

My husband and I love action movies and this one didn't disappoint. Yes there were a few "cheesy" points and times when we needed to suspend our reality (setting that many explosives in that short a time with no interference...really?) but overall it was great. Stallone, Statham, and Li, made a great team, Rourke was terrific, and Steve Austin as a baddie was great casting. Typical shoot-em-up blow-em-up movie.

Very entertaining! Action from start to finish, lotsa things getting blown up. I enjoyed the interaction between some big named stars and the cast gelled very well. There were parts of the movie where the lighting was too dark and you have a hard time distinquishing between the bad guys and the good guys, but other than that, I recommend for a good date movie for the over 40 crowd!
