The movie had a great cast! Handled the topics of incest and abuse extremely well. The movie did justice to the book, I would have liked the movie to be longer especially since I was so attached to every character in the movie/book. Precious is surely a Classic movie that i feel will and needs to be nominate for every kind of emmy and oscar you can think of. The most shocking part about this movie is that it was unpredictable. It evoked so many different emotions. I thank Tyler and Opera for this movie because it truely describe my experience growing up with a mother just like Monique's Character. It really hit home and hurt in alot of instances. I can't THANK them enough. Now my life and many other individuals have our voice through this movie.

What a touching movie about the horrendous hardships faced by one young woman.

I really enjoyed the movie. I praise the film for talking about issues that are difficult to talk about, hence I found many things rather shocking. It is a truly sad story, the only thing I can say negatively is that I did not really enjoy all the cut scenes into her fantasy life.... it was good in that whenever something traumatic happened the only way she could go on was by leaving her real life and going into her fantasy but I found that a lot of times it took too much away from my personal ability to get the full painful exprience that she went through if that made any sense... I cried a lot but I felt it should have made me cry even more... just my preference I don't need comic relief in every sad scene.... Great Movie though

What can I say. I love this movie. It has been a long time since I have seen a movie in which I enjoyed the beginning to end. Mo'nique went to a dark place in which most actor can not go. A lot of people will say there favorite mo'nique moment is the fight between Precious and Mary. My favorite part in the move is when she is talking to the soical worker about Precious. There is part in the movie in which she looks at Precius with such hathred. The look is about 10 sec in the movie, but it is so powerful That look shows the hathred she has for herself and has place that hathred on her daugher. This is a must see movie. I will see the movie again.

The young lady who played Precious was excellent in her role but I have a feeling that it wasn't a far reach for her and therefor she does not deserve an award nomination but she most certainly deserves recognition for her performance. Mo'Nique, however, was stupendous! Paula Patton was very convincing and beautiful, as usual, on screen. Ms Carey really delivered, althought not a very large role either, she was most touching as the social worker and the plain look was very convincing as was her performance. The direction by Mr. Daniels was fulfilling yet it lacked a real depth with regard to the rawness that could have been portrayed in the s**ual abuse scenes. MUST SEE-ENJOY

This movie is absolutely without question totally awesome! The cast is fantastic and the storyline is compelling! I agree with Oprah....,, Mo'Nique should get her dress for the Academy Awards ready. This was a great movie. Kudos to Tyler Perry and all involved with the making of this movie. This was a was a raw and riveting drama. Monique was outstanding as the abusing mother. This movie will make you cry. The heroine of the movie will make you cheer as she deals with the abuse and begins to pull herself up by her bootstraps and overcome adversity. I was very pleased with the adaptation of the book.

Really enjoyed the film. It makes you want to do everything you can to be a better Mom. I felt the urge to be an angel to someone who might be experiencing the life of "Precious." I hope everyone that watches this movie will be inspired to BE NICE to someone, just as Precious was to that little girl in the waiting room whose Mom was treating her bad.

This movie is like no other. Raw,intense, vicious,sad, redeeming. Gabourey has no formal training and you would have thought she had been acting since a child. Not tainted or threatened about what others thought she should be doing. She turns in an Oscar worthy performance. Monique was the biggest and worse mother EVER. She makes Mommy Dearest look like the sweetest mother ever. If she does not get an Oscar nod AND win, it would be a travesty. I havent seen many movies this year, but this is a MUST SEE.
