This movie is like no other. Raw,intense, vicious,sad, redeeming. Gabourey has no formal training and you would have thought she had been acting since a child. Not tainted or threatened about what others thought she should be doing. She turns in an Oscar worthy performance. Monique was the biggest and worse mother EVER. She makes Mommy Dearest look like the sweetest mother ever. If she does not get an Oscar nod AND win, it would be a travesty. I havent seen many movies this year, but this is a MUST SEE.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
