This was a great movie. Kudos to Tyler Perry and all involved with the making of this movie. This was a was a raw and riveting drama. Monique was outstanding as the abusing mother. This movie will make you cry. The heroine of the movie will make you cheer as she deals with the abuse and begins to pull herself up by her bootstraps and overcome adversity. I was very pleased with the adaptation of the book.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
