Of course it can't cover everything in the book, but it did a good job of hitting the high points. Back stories on Rose and Jasper were excellent. Battle scenes were exciting. What's not to like about watching Carlisle and Esme taking out a newborn?

Good movie to take a date to if you just want to eat popcorn and catch a nap.
What a pile of drivel! Its what every woman wants two guys chasing her at the same time and both of them taking a beating! This movie should be delivered to the theatres in a Deffenbaugh truck!
No man should ever be subected to this much estrogen for a sustained period!

This was the best of the 3! Loved the fight at the end, more humor, less brooding and starring into the camera. And it followed the book very closely.

Though this movie had some incredible moments visually much of the story was omitted. Taylor Lautner shines in his role as Jacob which allows the audience to see why Bella could feel so strongly for her friend. Unfortunately the intensity and intimacy between Edward and Bella are not equally represented in the film. Edward and Bella barely grapple with the decision of when Bella will be "changed" in the film, a topic of contention throughout the book.
The new Victoria, played by Miss Howard, blended seamlessly into her role.
Due to the lack of emotional intensity and the spectacular visual effects, this is one that if you are going to see it, make sure it is in a theater.

This movie had it all!
I was so glad that they stuck with the back story for Jasper & Rosalie like the book and showed it on screen.
I love the little bits of humor, and Charlie was so cute this time with his Dad bits.
Finally a bit more romance between Bella and Edward.
I can't wait for the the next movie, just hope we don't have to wait a year between them.

The first night that I saw the movie was midnight of opening night, I thought that it was excellent but that it went so fast. Well saw it again on July 2nd and loved it even more! So much action and loved the way each character looked, there was so much detail in this movie and the colors were awesome. There were parts that I would have liked to see if the movie that were in the book, but I know that they cannot put everything in there. I would highly recommend this movie to all the "Twilight" fans out there! I know that I will see it again and again!

Don't get me wrong the movie was fantastic but I was hoping for it to stay a little closer to the book. Bella and Charlie were a little too passive in this one and the film seemed a little rushed. The action in this film is what was great. What I noticed was when my friends and I left the theater there wasn't that much to talk about except what should have been in the film. I am hoping since Breaking Dawn is going to be made into two parts that they will be more exciting.

This movie fills in and clarifies the romantic relationship between Bella and Edward and Jacob . Definitely a "chic" and twilight mother movie and just enough action for the men. I enjoyed the film

I loved this movie, I thought it was the best yet. I really enjoyed how it shared more about the Cullen's lives before they became a vampire. Also it was great to see the Cullens and the warewoves come together to keep Bella safe. I cant wait to see it again.

Action packed, and so far the best of the Twilight Saga. Makeup is poorly done though and far too many close up shots. Strictly speaking of the Twilight Saga, I would give this movie 4 stars, but overall in comparison to other movies I've seen recently, Eclipse gets 3 stars.

I read the twilight series just last month, so its still very fresh in my mind. I think all the movies have been good, i gave eclipse 4 stars only because it felt to me there could have been a few more things in the movie from the book. They can't put everything in there i understand but, just like when alice kindnaps bella and jacob show up at school unexspected and take her for the day, and in the tent, in the morning when bella wakes up and is trying to get edward to help her, the way him and jacob almost fight. and right after when jacob runs off and she send edward to get him thens she kisses him (jacob). Over all great movie !! can't wait for the next 2 :) yay ! Anyone that has watched the other movies and liked them should love it !

After the new moon I had to read eclipse, turns out that was a mistake. The movie was a disapointment especially the fighting scene. If I had not read the book it problrary would have been different. The way I imagined the fight happened was better than the movie.

I felt this movie was worth the wait it finally brought Bella to start examining her feelings about Jacob, she has some thinking to do. Loved the vampires and werewolves coming together and a lot of action, wish there was more acting with the cullens and feel bad that so many new characters were introduced to us in this movie and taken so quickly, Bryce Howard was beautiful sad to see her go so quickly (Ron Howards daughter) overall very good just left me wanting more!!!

To me, it just didn't seem to move the story-line enough. . . what was there was good, but seemed like half-a-movie, instead of a whole movie. vampires and wolves can fight til the cows come home, but in the end, what changed in the lives of the characters??? not a whole lot. i expected a major change for at least one of them, but got nothing in that respect. enjoyed the dialogue between jacob and edward, in the tent. very funny. would have liked to have seen more of that.

The actors were great. I was glad we got some history on Rosalie and Jasper as in the book. What I found disappointing is the director seemed to forget who's story this was. Bella knew very little about what was actually happening in Seattle. It wasn't until later in the book she actually realized the stolen red shirt may meanshe was the intended target. I felt the director gave too much footage to Riley and friends.
I wasn't looking for more action. I was looking for the love triangle which is the whole concept behind The Twilight Saga. The battle with the newborns was such a small part of the book. There was more to the lead up to the confrontation than the actual fight.
As for recommending this movie to a friend, I would let them know not to expect to see to much of the book in the actual footage.

Eclipse was so much better than Twilight, but neck to neck with New Moon. It was so exciting, and hilarious with the little "comments" between Edward and Jacob. Such as, Jacob: Just face it, I'm hotter than you." I recommend this movie to Twilight fans and anybody who likes some action and a lot of romance. This movie was amazing, so therefore I give it a 5/5
