Fantastic movie. Possibly the best movie I have see in theaters EVER. The soundtrack for Avatar is epic and fits into the movie perfectly. If you are thinking of seeing this movie, you simply must see it in IMAX 3D. There is so much more to the experience this way. You know a movie is good when it makes you start to hate your own race.

Les dire que siempre he creido en IMAX. Y esta vez invite a un amigo que iba por primera vez y pude ver su expresion de impacto y deleite a traves de la pelicula. Igualmente que mensaje tan "humano" nos envia al corazon y a los sentidos. No tocar la naturaleza, verse por uno dentro mejor que lo que se ve por fuera, y luchar porque lo mas puro perdure y el amor triunfe siempre.
Los efectos y colores "pacificos" y encantadores transmiten exactamente la paz que la historia va narrando. La lucha de los que no tienen nada mas que su historia tradiciones, y deseos, y un mundo hostil que solo quiere la destruccion de lo que no puede controlar .

Avatar is astonishing. Seen in 3D at IMAX is practically overwhelming. All the emotions are amplified by IMAX, and the world Cameron creates dazzles even more than "normal" 3D. See Avatar at IMAX. It'll make your week.

Avatar IMAX 3D has delivered on all fronts... Extravagant Entertainment, Visual Effervescence, Compelling Story, Positive Message, Great Cast, Excellent Acting, Effective Script and Overall 10+ Satisfaction. This will be a popular hit as well as a cult classic for decades to come (expect to see teens adorning blue facial hues anytime now). The music and action were fantastic. The story line was good, better than the usual for good vs evil. Acting was fantastic, Sam and Zoe were completely believable in the Avatar bodies... Cinematography was fantastic... Visuall effect were beyond fantastic. Creates were fantastic as well... Save the planet mentallity, which some people say, maybe to an extent, but still fantastic. I liked 3D Imax, but the regulas theatre was, in my opinion, a little better.

One of the best movie theater experiences ever. This is a movie made for the big screen, you are doing yourself an injustice if you do not see it in 3D or IMAX 3D. The visuals are flat out amazing. The storyline is decent, but the way every aspect comes together makes it a definate 5 star theater experience.
This will go down as the star wars of the 2000's generation of young adults.

It was a g8 experience with a clear message to all viewers to [protect and be one with nature as we are all connected]. Simple concept, wonderfully casted, and all in all a wonderful movie. Given the time without hesitation would love to sit through the journey again in an IMAX-3D.

Every couple of decades you see a movie that makes your jaw drop, and then your mouth remains open for the rest of the movie. I had that reaction when I saw Star Wars in 1977 and I had it again yesterday when I saw Avatar. We already knew James Cameron was brilliant, but this was beyond genius. Yes, the story line was simple and predictable (and very obviously a replay of the plight of the Native Americans in our country, except this time the Native Americans won!), but the visuals, and the way that CGI and "reality" were seamlessly weaved together, were simply stunning. A must see cinematic experience!

James Cameron once again pushes the envelope to create another iconic movie. From the moment the lights went dim and I put my 3D glasses on I transported to another world. Pandora is lush, the flora and fauna are realized in amazing color and form. For the most part the characters are well developed and believable.
Only one aspect of the film kept me from giving it 5 stars. The plot is simple and nothing new and you've seen it dozens of times before; white guy encounters native population under siege, then in the process becomes their leader and saves them. It would have been nice to see Cameron try a different take on this over used plot device, but he went the safe route instead.

This movie takes you to a universe filled with intrigue and suspense. I have always followed Sigourney Weaver throughout the years. She was and always is great. Had a definite impact with her roll in the movie. I would say for anyone that feels spiritually connected to the universe you will be connected to this movie like I was. The minute I walked out of the theater I was ready to go back in and go for a ride of your life time again.

The special effects were amazing. The storyline was pretty good, but was very predictable at times. I found myself wanting to be there with them. To the reviewer who complained about the tails not serving any purpose , they obviously were not paying attention. But since they are apparently a Bush supporter, not surprised they didn't catch it. Beautiful movie. Go see it!

I just finished watching "Avatar" in a 3-D IMAX theater. It was very enjoyable. The story is a bunch of liberal hippie, anti-military and anti-America bullsh** and sooo done before (ex. "Dances with Wolves" etc.), but the effects, acting, and 3-D were awesome considering the quantity and the available techonology. James Cameron is going to be one ridiculusly rich man. I love and sympathize with the giant blue smurf-kitties, but no real red-blooded Marine would ever go native like that and kill his brothers and sisters in the USMC. That being said, I still very much enjoyed the movie--just suspend disbelief and go with it.

Matrix meets Alien meets Last of the Mohicans. Really cool movie, special effects not overdone. Don't go for the intricate storyline, just go to enjoy some excellent filmmaking. IMAX sound is awesome, no hearing aids required.

WOW! Words can't express how beautiful this movie was in IMAX 3D. Incredible technology that was awe inspiring. The story was pretty good. They could have done a LOT more to allow the characters to develop into something deeper than just this cool looking 3D image. The language was horrible! Why Cameron allowed his new reality to use crude language from our reality is beyond my comprehension. Be careful taking your children! If you don't want them hearing foul, coarse language (GD, BS, etc), then don't take them. It's sad that it's even an issue, but Cameron made it one by including the language. Awesome technology! Pretty good story. Terrible language.

Great Story. Masterful 3D, not over powering. Seamless merger of CGI and 'Film'. Emotionally involving. Presents and deals with the conflict of interests between a high tech society and simpler peoples. Beautiful cinema, unusual and first time visual effects, Titnaic-like sound track. Amazing work. Hard to believe that this went straight from story creatiojn to the big screen. A must see. 3D was a further touch a completing the believability. IMAX 3D experience was worth its cost. We drove 50 miles each way to see it.

I really loved this movie. I didn't want to go see it at first b/c I didn't understand what it was about and it's really long and I'm pregnant and didn't want to miss most of it in the bathroom. My husband talked me into going and I loved it so much. My eyes were glued to the screed watching the stunning visuals and amazing story unfold. I can't wait to go see it again. This movie should win the oscar this year and would if I got a say!

With out question the Best Movie of 2009!! I had no idea what to expect, but as the movie started, what I anticipated to be another let down in 2009 Movies quickly turned to such a surprise. I have gladly recommended it to anyone I have spoken with and will myself see it again at the theatres-this will be a first! Well Done to whomever put this thing together!!

Having seen a DLP 3D version and being just blown away, we decided to see the IMAX version - may have been the screen on which we saw it, but both my wife and I agreed the DLP version was clearer. Even with the slight side blurring in IMAX,we thoroughly enjoyed the movie AGAIN. Definitely recommend 3D, but not sure IMAX is worth the difference.

A most amazing movie in 3D at the IMAX. It took a little while to get used to the ill-fitting glasses but after that the movie appeared so real that I got dizzy at times. It's a must see in 3D.

This is an excellent movie for 3D Imax experience. You can't beat the special effects. It makes you feel like you are part of the movie.

One of the most visually beautiful movies I have ever seen. I am a 30 something chick who does not like science fiction movies, but this movie was fantastic! You have to see it on the big screen. I have watched it twice now - once in regular 3D and also once at the IMAX 3D. There is not alot of fly at you 3D effects - I thought the IMAX was slightly better with handling the 3D. You definately have to see this on the big screen to get the full effect of Pandora! The story line is good, but the visuals are incredible!
