If you're like me, you've come to expect little from many of today's Hollywood blockbusters. Often, there is too much glitz and not enough story... or too much formula and not enough character. Avatar IMAX 3D has delivered on all fronts... Extravagant Entertainment, Visual Effervescence, Compelling Story, Positive Message, Great Cast, Excellent Acting, Effective Script and Overall 10+ Satisfaction. This will be a popular hit as well as a cult classic for decades to come (expect to see teens adorning blue facial hues anytime now). Move over Lucas & Spielberg... a new Cinematic Sheriff is in town... and his name is Cameron!
Wall-E is actually very good, but perhaps not as Pixar Perfect as Roper and other critics touted. For a movie about an an intelligent, emotional trash compactor, the editing should have cut 10 minutes or so to make a much more compact film. Story-wise, we really grow to care about Wall-E and his love interest, Eva (sp?), but not so much any other characters. The antagonist is an autopilot system that doesn't do cinema villains, even pixillated ones, justice. However, these are minor points, and overall I'd give it a solid 4 stars.
