Second viewing - still awed

Having seen a DLP 3D version and being just blown away, we decided to see the IMAX version - may have been the screen on which we saw it, but both my wife and I agreed the DLP version was clearer. Even with the slight side blurring in IMAX,we thoroughly enjoyed the movie AGAIN. Definitely recommend 3D, but not sure IMAX is worth the difference.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I am not sure you can have much more fun at a movie - and, after all, that's what it's all about. A few critics may quibble over plot, dialogue, etc., but they need to immerse themselves in the world Cameron has created - frankly I could have watched the Nav'i hunt and soar with no plot needed. My wife and i are ready to go back - we saw it in 3D and I am seriously thinking IMAX - I have always shied away from that format for full length movies, but this one at 2.5 plus hours flew by. I called a friend (also my boss) at his request and told him to go and if he didn't like it I'd buy his ticket. Just FANTASTIC!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great Beginning

I do not believe a better prequel could have been made. The movie was exciting, extremely well cast and made great use of modern technology. The background development of Kirk and Spock characters was excellent. For an old Star Trek fan it was incredible. At the same time, for a novice, it should have been a great introduction to a promising new series. Like about everyone whose comments I've read or heard, I say "lock up the cast, secure Abrams for the next several episodes and sit back and enjoy!"
Yes, I recommend this movie.
