Commenting any further on the obvious 3D experience is superflous. What impressed me the most once I got over how good the 3D effects were, was the quality of Jim Carrey's performances and above all, the story itself. It has always been a great story, but the Disney magic brought the messege to me loud and clear. This is not so much a story of Christmas, but an opportunity to take measure of one's life.

1. 3-D effects great, but interestingly could not tilt my head, or less they went wacko. Theater had oversided glasses for fit my big noggin and fit over my own specs.
2. Definitrely a dark theme - not for kids under 12.
3. Spent a lot of time on showing off 3-D, like the horses/hearse scene.
4. Rushed the ending way too quickly. After belabored time wasted on dark ghost scenes, the highlight of the story (Scrooge's transformation) was glossed over in comparison.
5. I was amazed that my wife got very nauseated by the end of the film from the 3-D flying scenes. Had to closer her eyes or take off glasses a few times to keep from barfing.
6. Good flick, but not Disney's best.

We saw it in 3D Imax and just loved it. The 3D Imax couldn't have been better. Would love to see it again. Hope when it comes out on DVD my 3 D HDTV gives as good as how we saw it. A must see.

This movie in I-max was incredible. My 2 older children (10 y.o and 12 y.o) loved it because it was so action packed. My 7 year old was absolutely terrified at times (cowering and hiding in my lap), because some parts were very intense (and of course, there were ghosts).
This was the first movie we saw in I-Max 3D and we were very impressed with the picture quality and the surround sound. The cartoon images were so incredibly life-like, especially the eyes of the characters.

My son & grandson had a chance to see the "XMAS TRAIN TRAILER" when it was in Chicago, so they had a heads up already about how fantastic the movie would be. Seeing it in 3-D on the IMAX screen has to be the best. way to go. Although some of the original details of the story were not highlighted and others were... the whole point of the story was still intact, however and sent out the message loud and clear!!!! I knew the story..the way it would end, etc. If you are taking young kids who children who are not familar with the story, i would suggest giving a brief synopsis before because it could be very frightening at the end before Scrooge's transformation.. Best xmas classic movie presentation for the new millenimun!!!

I took my 6 year old grandson and 12 year old granddaughter. Both of them loved the show as did I. We went to an IMAX showing and my grandson was sticking his tongue out trying to catch snow flakes! It was a little dark in a couple of places, but my grandson said that it was "scary in a funny way!"

My expectations were not high going into this movie, but the IMAX picture, 3D effects, and sound were really first rate. The story stuck pretty much to Dickens' original, but was made all the more frightening by the 3D special effects. Small children may be frightened by some of the scenes. Also, the voice acting is first rate in my opinion. My wife and I, as well as our three teens, enjoyed it very much (unusual for them to give such a recommendation).

I dont know if it is effects of seeing this year after year.... but the story had no real zip...
BUt the IMAX 3-D experience, made it worth the $50+ it cost to get myself and my family in.
With that said, Go see it, its decent enough, and predictable. But at the end of the day, I wont be buying it on DVD (no 3D pazzaz there)

Loved it! We saw this on the IMAX screen, and the 3-D effects were amazing. The "flying" sequences were fantastic! This version of "A Christmas Carol" was true to the Dicken's original--and there were parts that were quite frightening! I would advise AGAINST taking small children--but for older kids and adults--you must see this one on the big screen---it simply won't be the same experience on a DVD.

We go see a movie every Wed night before Thanksgiving as a family and ususally try to make it Christmas related to get in the holiday spirit. This was an incredible choice. The effects in this movie were very good. They were moments when you could almost believe they were real instead of animated. I would have to say however, their were a few parts that might be a little scary for small children. Overall a very good film!

This was the first IMAX movie I've ever seen. It was fantastic. The beginning actually made me feel like I was flying with the 3D effects. Great performance by Jim Carrey and others. This movie was like a rollercoaster ride at Disney. There was lots of action and the story line kept true to the original novel. It was scarier than I expected so beware for small children. Overall, would see it again. It is worth paying a little extra for the IMAX and 3D version. I only wished they spend at little more time on Scrooges recovery after his night of visitors. I always felt best to see him turn around especially with Tiny Tim and that all seemed cut short.

My Chinese foreign exchange high-schooler said it was the most beautiful movie he'd ever seen. Jim Carey's performance was perfect, the visual detail and graphic texturing is gorgeous. Loved the flying scenes!
On the con side, the chase by the Ghost of Christmas Future felt more cartoon-like than the rest of the movie and seemed long. Also Scrooge did not meet Timmy at the end, which felt too short, wrapping up faster than the pace in the first half.
All in all, though, quite entertaining, with the feel of a good fun haunting, true to the story, true to color, and no headache from the Imax 3D glasses (hefty cool plastic shades, not the cheap paper kind). I wouldn't bring a small child but I would not hesitate to bring a tween'er.
