Beautiful and true to the story

My Chinese foreign exchange high-schooler said it was the most beautiful movie he'd ever seen. Jim Carey's performance was perfect, the visual detail and graphic texturing is gorgeous. Loved the flying scenes!
On the con side, the chase by the Ghost of Christmas Future felt more cartoon-like than the rest of the movie and seemed long. Also Scrooge did not meet Timmy at the end, which felt too short, wrapping up faster than the pace in the first half.
All in all, though, quite entertaining, with the feel of a good fun haunting, true to the story, true to color, and no headache from the Imax 3D glasses (hefty cool plastic shades, not the cheap paper kind). I wouldn't bring a small child but I would not hesitate to bring a tween'er.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
