Is this movie better than Transformers? Almost. Is this movie awesome? Yeah. There's plenty of BIG fights in this movie, so it easily surpasses that of Transformers. So, is this movie Theater/IMAX worthy, or DVD/Blue-Ray worthy? Blue-Ray. This was my first IMAX visit, and I thought Transformers 2 The IMAX Experience would be the perfect one to introduce me to it. However, if it had been in 3D it would have been a whole lot better. So, now I believe IMAX theaters go better with just about anything in 3D. It's just too expensive, and far away from home for me to think otherwise. The IMAX Exp. did not add a whole lot of difference to the movie. That's why I can't give this presentation a perfect 5 out 5.

If you are a guy who just loves to see giant robots destroy stuff you will love this. I say guy because this movie was definitely cater ed towards men in almost every way. You can count on plenty of sexy babe shots and hundreds of explosions. Don't expect much else though.
The story was pretty much about as good as a plot on a cartoon. The acting was average, the "funny" moments were goofy and the "romantic" moments were ridiculous.
I have to say, if you love special effects and want audiovisual overload, you should see this in Imax.

I personally thought it was awesome. It was even better than the first one in a lot of ways since there were more noises (I love the noise they make when they transform and stuff) and explosions, and I love Bumblebee! I almost cried when Optimus died too. My dad thought there was too much military action in it though. But I think it was great! And they definitely left it open for a third one. The only thing I don't like is the final battle--it seemed too short and effortless.

This movie has amazing special effects with an absolute stunning visual presentation. after growing up with the cartoon. It felt like Bay watched the Transformers animated movie and made his movie aroung the bare bones of its story. I have to admit that the only thing I really like was the homage to the original animated movie with Prime's front flip shot on Megatron. All in all this movie was visually stunning but utterly lacked any substance of story. Wait for the DVD.

This sequel was a bit more comic bookish than the first, but by far exceeded in areas of action and special effects. The humorous moments were well timed amidst the pandemonium that was going on. All in all a captivating flick that was just pure fun to watch, or in the case of IMAX "experience". Could easily convince myself to go see it again. Watching on DVD will be good, but not the same.

I loved the first Transformers, and I loved this one too. But I think the IMAX experience helped the second one. It was tons of explosions and action, very little storyline or plot. Not as good as the first, but definitely worth the wait opening night for the IMAX version. I am an eighties kid that grew up on watching the cartoons and playing with the toys, and I love the fact that this is box office smash based on a toy. The beginning of the movie an attribute to Hasbro flashes on the screen. How awesome is that?? All the times we were in the backyard digging up dirt mountains with gravel boulders and making water hose rivers and lakes for our transformers and gi joes, now our toys are on the big screen playing for us.

I loved this movie, I went to watch it with my son, he's ten and I am twenty-nine years old. Both of us loved every second of it. It was jam packed with adventure, action, romance, and comedy. There were some sad parts that made my son and I cry, but with all the action and comedy we got over it. Michael Bay outdid himself in this one, and I am anxious to see the third installment of this movie. two thumbs up, and I want to watch it again!!

I thought it was great. More language & reference was made than the first but the generation that grew up playing w/transformers are all in there 20's so not really for young kids. I 'm glad Optimus Prime didn't die so there will hopefully be a third.

So, this movie might not be the best movie for children, but at least for once they kept one of my childhood favorites directed towards the generation it came from.
This movie had amazing action sequences, and hilarious comedy to boot. I'll never understand some of the bad ratings it received. I mean, if you are out trying to get some sort of intellectual stimuli, then go see something else. This movie was made for pure unadulterated entertainment. This movie like most movies by Michael Bay was visually intense.

Why so much pointless cursing? Why was the plot written by a 6th grader? Why was it so busy? Why was the script written by a 12 year old but the movie was inappropriate for anyone under 14 because of all the inuendo etc.? Special effects were great though.

My husband and I had not been to an IMAX movie and we wanted to see Transformers. The sound and action in this movie were awesome. The special effects were awesome and the storyline was good.
