What a great movie! Took my 15 year old cousin, sister-in-law, & her 13 year old niece. Great memories came rushing back to me of my childhood...my sister & I LOVED reading Beverly Cleary growing up. The movie did not disappoint. You laugh, cry, and get a little sentimental watching the Quimby family. I highly recommend!!!! A throwback to when times were innocent & you didn't have a care in the world!!

As a parent I enjoyed relating this movie to the books I read in school. I would look over at my 6 and 7 year old, (boy and girl), and notice the tears in their eyes a couple moments throughout the movie. It was easy to understand and relate to for children and adults and funny at times as well.

I teach 3rd graders and read the Ramona series every year. I could recognize the characters before they were called by name. This was excellent. Pieces from each Ramona book were sprinkled in and it was delightful. It was sweet and innocent without the big kid bad attitude that is in so many children's movies today. I loved these books as a child and took my eight and six year old to see it. I loved all the touching family moments. I even cried once or twice.
But more importantly I loved how it reminded me to try and see things from a child's point of view. I have a lot of really good talking points for my children now. A must see!

Ramona and Beezus was magnificent! I've enjoyed reading the books and watching the old tv series. It's great to see an innocent children's classic preserved accurately in today's day and age. The colorful imagination of an 11-year-old girl will capture your heart. Though the Quimby family has some struggles, they learn what it means to work together as one big family. Selena Gomez and Joey King did an excellent job bringing these characters to life the way Beverly Cleary wanted it. I recommend this family-friendly film to all ages!

In a day when even movies touted as "family" movies and rated G contain only slapstick horseplay, occultism and bathroom humor really aimed at the adults, this movie is such a refreshing change. I was thrilled at its message and its lack of moments that made me gasp. The memories came flooding back. Having read the books as a little girl, the character names and antics of this little girl Ramona were so much fun to see on the big screen. Definitely a keeper. I will buy the DVD for my granddaughters. Took two of them and they were delighted. They were able to follow the plot and predict outcomes. I enjoyed it also as the grandmother. Having not read the books, I absolutely loved the movie. My friend, having read the books, did not because the movie did not follow the books to her liking. But that was her problem. I thought it was incredibly powerful with moral and ethics issues and very emotionally moving. I cried the rest of movie after the cat passed away. Like I said above, it was powerfully emotional. Well done.

This is one of the greatest movies I have seen in a while. It's got comedy, romance and it's silly (which I LOVE)...it's definitely a mom/daughter date movie :)
