Jim Carey, is a great talent, but in my mind, is associated with raunchy humor, so I would not take my granddaughter to this movie at first when she kept asking, but we went to see another movie and this one was next door, so I relented with the warnings that I would leave at the first inappropriate scene. I'm so glad we went. THANKS 20th Century. This was funny and sweet, had a good moral and even somewhat educational about the penquins. Bravo!
In a day when even movies touted as "family" movies and rated G contain only slapstick horseplay, occultism and bathroom humor really aimed at the adults, this movie is such a refreshing change. I was thrilled at its message and its lack of moments that made me gasp. It is funny, heartwarming, clean, a little delightfully fantastic but oh so wonderful in its lack of occult, magic, vampires, weapons, fights, off-color jokes. I may take my granddaughter again! Support this one if you are hungry for genuinely good family movies.
