Wonderful characters brought to life a story I only knew partially. I can see why Victoria loved Albert till the day she died. He was charming, gallant and considerate. After the strictness of her childhood, she deserved nothing less. Beautiful costumes and sets. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

We took our 10 and 13 year old girls and all enjoyed The Young Victoria thoroughly. The details of political intrigue can be a little confusing but that doesn't diminish the enjoyment of seeing a young woman come into her own -- and wield so much power! Great chemistry between Victoria and Albert, good mother-daughter drama, an evil villain -- fun to watch!

A chance to immerse yourself in an earlier time--characters, cultures, and beautiful settings. Fascinating look at the early reign of the English queen more often thought of as a serious, old woman. Interesting characters whom you like to know better--but that leaves some things to your imagination. Crucial time for the English monarchy as it faced a changing political and industrial world. For me both an escape into another world on the one hand and a movie that inspired me to learn more about Queen Victoria and her world.

Within the lush costumes and elaborate decor of "The Young Victoria" lies a very sweet and enduring love story of a queen and her prince. Blunt does a great job of bringing the vulnerability and earnestness of the young monarch to the big screen. Friend is respectable and forthright. Together their chemistry is believable and fresh. I wish the story line would have delved further into their relationship as it left me wanting more when the credits began to roll, but otherwise this is a must see for any fan of a solid, well done period piece.

We thought the acting was excellent, the locations beautiful. We learned something about a British monarch about whom we knew only a little. I wish the epilogue were more complete, i.e. which of the nine children became king. It also wasn't clear what happened to Lord Melbourne. Emily Blunt did a wonderful job. We look forward to a follow up movie on Victoria's reign.

Gorgeous scenery, acting, costumes and music. It helped that the scenes were shot in the actual places that they originally took place due to the Duchess of York's involvement in this movie. Rupert Friend and Emily Blunt were superb and have a wonderful chemistry on screen together. I highly recommend this movie!

A very good presentation of a building love story. The dresses and other dress was very well done to present a high society setting. The direction of Victoria and Albert to help those in need was not shown as much, but that happened later in their married life.

The movie is as regal looking as is its subject matter. The acting is superb and the script keeps what could have been a dull costume drama moving along at a pretty good clip.
