I usually don't pay to see movies in the theater unless I think they might be really good. I was not disappointed. Steve Carell was absolutely hilarious & so convincing in his role. My fiance & I were in stitches. Paul Rudd was an excellent match for Steve Carell. Love the movie - as did my friends who saw it. Definitely recommending to other friends :)

I'm a big Steve Carell fan. Several minutes into this one, I remember thinking "I hope this picks up a little or it's going to be terrible." And the laughs did pick up. A little. And I liked it. But it's probably one of Steve Carell's least funny movies. There are several big contrived scenes, where a lot of boring stuff has to take place to get all the characters in position for the hilarious scene. The pace of the movie feels like stop-and-go traffic on the highway.

This movie was very slow and dry. I gave it 2 stars for some funny parts, but for the most part it was rather boring. I wanted to walk out and leave, but was with a group and I didn't want to be rude. I don't recommend this movie and I actually liked 40 year old virgin. This movie is not that kind of funny.

The movie wasted the talents of the actors in it. Jemaine Clement was really the only thoroughly funny character, and Steve Carrell was yet another oblivious idiot...other than that, the movie lagged in many places, really wasn't funny other than for a chuckle here and there, and generally disappointed overall.
Overall consensus from people leaving the theater as I did seemed to be "that wasn't nearly as funny as I thought it'd be."

It had very funny moments, but overall, it dragged. They had tons of funny actors in this movie and hardly gave anyone but steve carell a line. Apart, from Carell's character the only other character I enjoyed was the psycho-stalker Darla everyone else was just a human prop. I was expecting to "laugh so hard my face hurt", instead I found myself chuckling and waiting about 15 mins for the next funny part... disappointment.

This movie was not at all what I had expected in terms of the movie title although it was really funny and it also had a cute life lesson in it. Steve Carell is so hilarious and he does a great job playing this role. I give it four stars because it was more than a comedy, it was a story that entertained the idea that we often make selfish decisions in spite of those who are less aware of their surroundings and who take things for face value but with a little comedy to it. I would recommend this.

Paul Rudd and Steve Carrell are great in their roles. The movie's premise is pretty weird, but it provides a great vehicle for Carrell to demonstrate (again) why he is one of this generation's most gifted comic actors. Unlike many other movies where the best lines seem to be shown in the trailers and then the overall movie turns out to be a disappointment, "Dinner for Schmucks" doesn't disappoint and there are lots of funny lines and situations. Jemaine Clement is a pleasant surprise in his role. Will probably be one of the best comedies of the summer.

This is one of the greatest movies I have seen since The Hot Tub Time Machine, The Hangover, Beer-fest and Super Troopers.... I laughed harder at this single movie, more then the other 4 combined..... It was non-stop comedy from beginning to end...... Steve Carrell probably did his best comedy EVER..... This movie was ridiculous. I enjoyed it for the first twenty minutes, and then I just got annoyed, for every single thing that could go wrong did. Not my kind of movie. It's not intelligent, it's not inspired, it's Steve Carell acting like an idiot for nearly two hours. Save your money, rent it.

Never been in a movie where people laughed that much. It was hilarious. I came in expecting something awesome, and I wasn't disappointed.

This movie was outstanding. From a writer's perspective it contained all elements that a comedy should contain and plus more. Paul Rudd is a million dollar actor, he is worth every penny to watch. I do think that this movie is the next "HANGOVER" if not better. Go see it, trust me, you will laugh hard, so hard that you will hope you don't have a heart attack. Just fantastic, such a thrill, shoots right out of the water and into cyberspace.......

Best movie with Steve Carell and Paul Rudd since Anchorman: Legend of Ron Burgendy. Some parts were a little gross, but were still very funny. I would reccommend it to ages 12-13 because there were a lot of crude and sexual content in some parts.
