It was quickly obvious that the only really enjoyable moments were those in the advertisements. Most of the show focused on the abuse of and shortfalls of the 'idiot'. Steve Carell was funny in spots but mostly pathetic. We were thumbs down 5 for 5.

This movie was very, very, very, funny and somewhat stupid, but in a good way it had a lot of excellent, but silly parts. If you liked Dumb & Dumber you will like this movie. This is the type of movie that when it comes out on TV & DVD you will want to watch it over and over. Steve Carrell & Paul Rudd were awesome togetgher, they made a good comedy duo. The movie is not meant to be serious or heartfelt but there are some issues in the movie that make you think about how you treat other people.

Excellent movie! I was worried they showed all the funny parts in the preview. NOT THE CASE! Some moments were painful, but it did not go over the top like Meet the Parents 2. The cast of characters is hilarious, and you find yourself laughing at them before they even say their first line.

This movie was hilarious! I was worried at times that it was starting to go over the top with awkward/embarrassing moments, but they pulled it together and made it laugh-out-loud funny! Some of the humor was rather crude, but other than that it was a great movie. I was worried it wouldn't be as good as the commercials made it out to be, but I wasn't disappointed. :) So great!

This movie started out ok. But it lost it's punch and got more stupid as the minutes passed. i was with my 2 daughters who are grown up and my husband. I was embarrassed by the language. The plot stunk, the sexual inuendo's were childish and Steve Carell's character was pathetic. I hated this movie after about 1 hour and struggled to stay in my seat. This was a poor attempt at humor and even a more poor attempt at a story line, this was so bad that I can't even give it one star. But since I have to rate it, I am giving it 1 star.

Okay, it was a little slow in places and the dinner scene was a bit hokey, but it was still entertaining. I really enjoy Steve Carell in this and Paul Rudd played the serious costar very well.
Worth the admission, and if you miss it at the theater, it's a for sure rental.

If I could, I would not even give this movie one star because it isn't deserving of such. First off, I can honestly say that this movie reminded me of why I consider Steve Carell to be one of the most annoying people on this planet. I had just started to be able to tolerate him and than I went and saw this. Maybe I missed something, but was I the only person who couldn't find a sensible plot? And even if I could, I would still be as digusted with the whole thing. It seems as if, since there was a failed effort to be funny, they threw in as many crude jokes as they could. Suffice it to say, I very nearly walked out.

From all the previews, I went to the movies with the expectation that the movie would be some what funny. Boy, was I wrong! This movie is bust-a-gut, roll on the floor, crazy loud laughter funny!
Not to give all the movie away, BUT...I loved the part where Barry uses subjective "Brain control" tactics towards his boss, who tries to use "mind control" on him. As if Brain control is higher than mind control. <Stupid funny> Barry's boss stole his wife from him and Barry caught them cheating one day. Barry uses the initmate information on his boss to suggest he has Brain control over him...only to find out later on that Barry was under the bed listening the whole time was DROP ON THE FLOOR FUNNY! The whole theater was in stitches!
After this movie, I am a BIG Steve Carrell fan! Remember, A mind is a terrible thing... <PAUSE> to waste!...is what your suppose to finish Barry's sentence with.
Go see the movie and stay until the very, very, very end!

The first hour of the movie was spent establishing Steve Carell as a Schmuck. The plot was bad and there were some very untalented actors that were cast in the roles. Or maybe the roles were so bad that the actors couldn't do much with them. Hard to say. In either case, it made for a difficult watch. I would call it a stupid movie because it lacked a comedic approach. I was forced by my wife to walk out before we were able to watch the actual dinner scene that was in all of the trailers. I thought the movie lacked a good script, decent acting and commen sense. However, I will say that I thought that the writers did try to create charachters that you haven't seen in other movies.

Thank goodness I only paid $7 for this movie-I lost interest many times and wanted to fall asleep-that is never a good thing for a movie. It was not as funny as the trailers made it seem, and the dinner scene just became plain crude near the end. Steve Carrell disappointed me, and I was never a fan of Paul Rudd, and now it looks like I still won't be.
