A great beginning to an end

Wow. This movie was fantastic. Watching it brought everything from the last book back to me. As bleak as the situation is for Harry & friends, I liked that there was humor thrown in alongside all of the chaos. I did become a little sad over certain situations. In all, it was done very well and I can't believe we have to wait 8 months for the final part. The countdown, for me, starts now.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Not a hit or a miss, but somewhere in between

Due Date wasn't as bad as critics made it out to be. In a way, I can see why people have been calling it the Trains, Planes, and Automobiles of 2010 (but that movie is more comedic). While it was amusing in some spots, it wasn't laugh-until-your-sides-hurt funny. There were some things that I think could have been left out, but other than that, it wasn't too bad.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Can I have my hour and fifty minutes back?

If I could, I would not even give this movie one star because it isn't deserving of such. First off, I can honestly say that this movie reminded me of why I consider Steve Carell to be one of the most annoying people on this planet. I had just started to be able to tolerate him and than I went and saw this. Maybe I missed something, but was I the only person who couldn't find a sensible plot? And even if I could, I would still be as digusted with the whole thing. It seems as if, since there was a failed effort to be funny, they threw in as many crude jokes as they could. Suffice it to say, I very nearly walked out.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Not A Despicable Movie

Originally, I had not intended to see Despicable Me, because I figured it was just another animated movie I could wait to rent on DVD. But, my best friend asked me to go (she wanted to see the Minions) so I did. And I'm glad. It was a lot funnier than I thought it was going to be and after seeing it, I wanted a Minion for myself (preferably one of the short and fat ones). I found it interesting that everyone else (excluding the little girls) were more of a villain than Gru was. It had also had a very sweet ending. I enjoyed it very much.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Bend It Like Aang

Every review that I have read of this movie has been a negative one. Critics have gone so far as to call this movie stupid. Personally, I thought this was quite the opposite. While it seemed a little slow moving in the beginning, I thought that it was very well done and told a very interesting story. I have never seen the cartoon, but I understood what was happening nonetheless. I would love to be an Airbender and control the elements that way! While it may or may not warrant a repeat viewing, it was still pretty cool.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The toys are back

Toy Story 3 was very well done. It's amazing that Disney/Pixar can create a movie that you can become emotionally involved in, even though the main characters are toys. I actually cried at the end of this one. I went into the movie with no expectations and came out feeling that a trilogy is ending on a pleasant note. It shows that growing up can be hard and Andy giving his toys away was almost a symbol of him leaving his childhood behind for good. But, in all, Woody and the gang stuck together and it will always be that way. There was also a lot of humor, which was very good in a story about moving on with life. Chalk up another win for Disney/Pixar!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great update of the original film

The Karate Kid was excellent. I was rooting for Jaden Smith from the beginning right to the very end. He's a great little actor and I can see a lot of Will in him. Jackie Chan was great as his mentor and teacher and you really felt like he thought of Jaden's character as a son. It had a good message about standing up for yourself. I was also very impressed with all of the kung-fu moves.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

11 bucks for this?

What an atrocity! This movie was a waste of time and money. Aside from James Marsden high on acid and Danny Glover as a crotchity old guy, the laughs were limited. I couldn't focus on it and started drifting off into my own thoughts. Until Hollywood stops remaking movies that already have an originial, they're never going to learn. I think I need to see Iron Man 2 again to get the bad taste out.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I loved this move! It was just as action packed as the original and seeing it in IMAX made it even better. The technology in the move was equally just as awesome. I love Robert Downey Jr and he brings his own style back into the role of Tony Stark. There is no scrimping on the action sequences and each one of them are explosive (literally). I had fun and would definitely see this one again.
