I enjoyed this movie! Jeremy Piven was great, Ving Rhames is always good. I thought the movie was about to go downhill, however, with the Will Farrell cameo. Normally, Farrell signals the end-point for funny. Luckily, Piven and gang managed to hang onto The Goods and I was able to enjoy the entire movie.

If you like to laugh at politically incorrect humor, you'll enjoy this movie. I do, and I did. While I'm not a fan of Will Ferrell's movies (this was from his production company), his cameo was brief and did not annoy me. Jeremy Piven fans will enjoy his performance as the leader of a group of hard-sell used car salespeople. Outrageous, but never crossing the line, he carried the movie quite well, ably backed by a good supporting cast. Several times during this movie you will probably be telling yourself, "This is SO wrong!" but you'll be laughing never-the-less. I had a good time watching The Goods.

I've seen this guy around, but I don't think I had ever really watched anything he was in from start to finish. However, this movie I enjoyed. It was not bust-your-gut funny, but there were some elements that made it worth it. I absolutely loved Jeremy's character, his personality, his short height, his tight jeans, it was all well-crafted. Sometimes I did feel they were trying too hard with the script and there wasn't as much room to breathe as I wanted, but I was still entertained. I wish they would've done more with Ken Jeong from The Hangover, because he is really funny, but he did not shine in this movie. The singing angels were probably the funniest thing. It's a good DVD watch.

There are things that are serious and shouldn't be joked about, PEDIFILLIA is one of them. Not worth the ten bucks. Rent it if you feel like you have to watch it. Do NOT let your kids see it.

Having been formerly in the biz (by work & by marriage) I went to this movie thinking it would be a lot funnier than it was. Ving Rhames was OK, Jeremy Piven was meh & the balance of the actors were relative unknowns with the exception of James Brolin who cracked me up as the dealership owner who needs the help of Piven & his rag tag band of car gurus/gypsies. A running gag about a developmentally unbalanced 10 year old boy & the lone lady car gypsy was stupid after a couple of times as were a lot of the gags. I guess I would say the humor was base & dumb but shame on me for thinking it would be anything more. Cameo by Will Ferrell was welcome and funny. I would wait for the video on this one & save the $10 popcorn fee.

First off, if anyone has worked in sales, as I have, this movie is much funnier than it would be to someone who has not worked in sales because there are many. many humorous "salesy" jibs and jokes that not everyone may have gotten (the team pep talks and constant reference to the term "ups").
In general, this move was what I thought it would be, a little canned, but taken for face value, really, really funny. The Will Ferrell cameo was hilarious!

I knew what I was in store for when I walked into the theater on a premier weekend and there were only 3 people in the seats. If you watch the trailers then you have seen everything worth watching in this flick. Having spent 21 years in car sales I was hoping for an evening of humerous car sales antics. One must know the general type of movie this is from the trailers, advertisements & posters. Knowing the genre I thought the first 30 minutes was pretty funny. The movie lost it's bearing in act II - day 2 on the car lot. Instead of keeping the same funny flow of humor...it began to ebb towards unnecessary pathos and slowed itself down. Piven is okay in the lead and his band of ninja car salespeople are okay and the secondary characters are okay. Problem is they are just okay and then they ran out of the original really funny stuff way too soon. This may be a good one to rent so you can enjoy the first 30 minutes at home and, when it begins to fall flat, you can finish some of those home projects you've been "putting off".

Maybe I had my hopes set too high for this movie...based on the trailer and the cast, I anticipated something much better. I was also shocked that Will Ferrill or Adam McKay wanted their names on this a producers. I wonder if the best parts of the script were cut in editing.
The characters lacked any substance that would make me even want to pull for them. While the premise might call for gritty characters, it seemed like they took it to the point of being ridiculously scummy.
Did I laugh? Yeah a couple of times, but just at a silly joke or line here and there. Overall, it just wasn't all that entertaining. I will not buy it and I doubt it will end up in my DVD collection as a gift.
A major disappointment!

I guess I was expecting a Knocked Up or Hangover comedy and it definately was not that. I would wait for it to come out on video.

This was a total piece of garbage. I did laugh a few times but the spent most of my time is shock at how bad it was and debating with my friend whether to walk out.

I had no expectations of this movie and went into the theater wanting to laugh. This movie hit the spot. You have to have a sense of humor. It was no Hangover but it was still good.
