I cannot believe I got sucked into seeing this movie, and I went solely on the recommendation of a friend. Total waste of time & money, and I gave my friend an earful!! Hoooorible story and concept. This should've stayed on Hollywood's shelf and collected 12 inches of dust. The only good thing was the attractive gang, other than that TOTAL off the charts zero! If I could give less than one star I would. I sooo wanted my money back, and THANK GOD I saw it at matinee price and did not pay for 3D!
Blade meets Resident Evil, but consistent feel of the Underworld series. This was by far in my opinion the most entertaining of the series! I enjoyed it so much that I wish I could wipe my memory clean and watch it over again for the first time! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time; I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride. It was amazing! Full of action; perfect recipe of action, adventure, horror, plot, acting, visuals, effects, sound, all of that. Bravo to the director, writers, and actors. The 3D took it over the edge to superb. Be sure to see it in your town's best theater so that you can experience all of its wonderful effects.
I was somewhat bothered that parts of the movie was not in full 3D. When it was, the effects weren't poppin'. Maybe that had something to do with the few colors used, while everything else was either black or white. It was weird, and definitely not one of the best 3D movies I've ever watched. The 3D effects did not compare to some of the others I've seen. Avatar really had us spoiled. The story is okay. It at times seems to want to be so deep and substantial, but it's really kind of lame. And I am totally over every movie working in a boy meets girl love story. Good action though, and it had its cool moments.
The Rite has substance, but it is extremely slow and stagnant. I wasn't totally disappointed in dropping $11 to watch it; I was entertained. It has all the right pieces, all the right substance, but it all did not come together at the right times. It was amazing to look at; the special effects were really great, as well as the sound. I just wanted the film to engage the audience a little more than it did. Held our attention though, but just didn't take us where we really thought we were going. Maybe we could have gotten the intensity if it was rated 'R'.
The best drama of 2010. Think metaphor not literal. I was there, present with this film. This is one of the best written, best sounding, best acted, visually stunning movies of my time. Thoroughly intriguing and captivating from beginning to end. Bravo! However, the simple-minded will think the opposite. If you are not looking for depth go see the Fockers.
Burlesque was phenomenally entertaining from start to finish! And talk about eye candy! I went into a diabetic coma from all the hotties on the screen! Christina Aguilera is an AMAZING vocalist and performer, and this film definitely added a few more notches of respect and appreciation for her. Cher was extremely charming in her role. I adored the storyline and the fact that Christina's character remained humble. I appreciated that there was no intense, sinister dichotomy to the story, just fun performances, powerhouse vocals, and Grammy-award worthy song choices and lyrics. This is a must-see film. 5 stars shining bright!
The jolts were definitely way more intense than the first movie. The build up was slow and drawn out. I was not as intrigued by the characters as I was in the first one. They did not have as much personality as the first couple, and at times I felt like I was watching someone's boring home videos. However, when it finally got intense, part two delivered with the chills, jumps, and thrills. I did not feel quite as terrified on the first one, but I was definitely more drawn in which made the first Paranormal Activity a little better. It's worth the watch in theaters, but if you get a rude, noisy, cell phone-texting bunch it may not be as enjoyable in theaters. My party had a blast though; luckily we had a respectable bunch of folks in our theater.
While I am growing disgusted – no pun intended – by the rising prices of 3D movies, I was at least consoled by the entertainment value of Jackass 3D. This installment will in no way disappoint you, but I have to say part two was a little funnier to me. This one is DEFINITELY the grossest! I actually gagged on the sweat scene, of which I feel is worth mentioning (and I normally wouldn't give anything away, but whew!). The closing credit scenes were a really nice touch for the fans. It is amazing that these guys have survived all of the stunts that they do, but their ages and dangerous career path is definitely starting to show in their faces & bodies. Nevertheless, you will enjoy it if you're a Jackass fan or a first-timer. Oh, and the nudity is miniscule compared to the whole. It's definitely no "Bruno". Last but not least, the 3D effects were cool, but did not add any value. However, it is a go-see-in-theaters film!
Hands down brilliant film, story, acting, all of that! I have not been this intrigued by the characters in quite some time. I was SO impressed with the acting and all of the little touches this film has (circa 1980’s). For the naysayers, it's only because they had a preset list of expectations. I did not. I went in open-minded and fell in love with this film. It is an instant masterpiece of vampire films up there with "Interview with the Vampire" and "Bram Stoker's Dracula". It is a must see for true vampire fans!
M. Night is back! "Devil" is an instant classic! A brilliant story; M. Night reclaims his title as the genius of suspense & horror. The ending is KILLER! All I can say is bravo. I've been thinking about this movie for days which is a good sign when it leaves lasting impressions. I wish we could have more great films like this. I can't recall jumping so much from a recent horror film. Most rely on intense violence, blood and gore, but this movie scares you without all of that. I literally jumped out of my seat like four times; it was awesome! Thanks M. Night!
