This was one of the worst movies i have ever seen; such a disappointment. The script/dialogue was just laughable...all of that money, and this was the result!! BORING!!

Roland Emmerich is clearly the second coming of Irwin Allen, and this movie proves it. It contains all of the classic Allen elements, from the intense special effects to the cheesy (and I do mean CHEESY) story line. Still, as a popcorn flick, you couldn't ask for better as this one kept you on the edge of your seat for the entire 2.5 hours. There were some obvious technical issues, and again the story line was as cheesy as it gets (hence 4 stars instead of 5), but it doesn't take away from a good time at the movies for this one. If you're a special effects junkie (which I am), you'll absolutely get more than your fix with this one.

Not only bad acting - just way to cheesey but things such as if volcanic ash were floating in the skies, nothing would/could be flying, if it was the end of the world as we know it, it wouldn't be just Yellowstone going off, ash would be covering the world. If Yellowstone does go, your not going to have several seconds to make a speech about what you see, your going to have time to just think - Ok, I'm toast and you will be. If your in an ash cloud and breathing, you BETTER have a mask or something or your lungs will be turning to concrete! This is a scare tactic movie and worse than others out there - Friday 13th, Halloween!

Great film. Similar to Deep Impact but stepped up several notches. Special effects were outstanding and very realistic. Naturally in any film such as this there were moments of unbelievability but that's expected. In no way did that distract me from the big picture. Some very moving moments too.
Definitely recommended for anyone who likes big blockbusters, and would get my Oscar vote for best special effects. A+

Although this is based on the worst case scenario for one of the many understandings of what may come in 2012 it was a decent movie. There is a LOT and I do mean a LOT of Circumstantial lucky around the primary characters that makes this movie non -believable. In fact it seems that they did not consult science facts on events to get a good timing. All in all the Story line was great. Who knew that a book one has written may play a role in his families survival.

Very entertaining although not realistic. The special effects make it definately worth while to see even though the plot is a bit drawn out. John Cusack has definately played better roles, Woody Harrelson was very entertaining. I'd recommend it overall but it isn't for everyboby.

This was an excellent movie! The graphics were incredible concidering all the animated parts in it. But i must admit the story line was kinda cheesy. Kind of a typical hero doesn't die even when he falls into a enternal abyss kind of thing. Also the movie had way to many parts where they would just show the flowing water. This was probably the reason it was so long. Also this movie was very popular when it came out.(I saw it on the first day) So get here early and find a seat!!! Unlike my friends and I who sat in the front. Well have fun!

I was really disappointed with this movie. It did not go into detail at all about the Myan prophecies or try to explain the end times at all. There was no mystery to it. It was just another action packed movie of the earth blowing up. So if you like graphics perhaps this is for you. But the problem was the whole movie was about the earthquakes and cool graphics that you really start to forget what the meaning is all about. Exploisons, exploisons, exploisons. I actually fell asleep at the end because I was so bored out of my gore watching the earth explode. Save yourself a few bucks and watch shows on national geographic about 2012 because they really are more interesting. Hope I helped.

We should have our money refunded. Poor story line, characters in the movie were simply not believeable and the acting was tacky. Special effects were not bad but that was the only redeeming value. Save your money!!!

Well, I was a part of the masses that went to see 2012. It was action packed from start to finish. Yes, the earth repeatedly rips and explodes itself apart, from state to state, all through out the movie but it was pretty good. I would go see it on the big screen just for the graphics and action!

The movie was great. It seems all the viewers have missed the point of the movie. The government would not tell us if the end were near. And , why would they, most humans are self-centered and do not have a clue as to when live on earth will end nor how it will end. Only science and God Knows. Be good now and do not worry. Life will emerge and earth will always be here. Science has proven itself right all the time. So believe in it. Our governments will not tells us of 2012 as you will cry or shoot yourself. Believe it. Our time is now running out. Make a lot of friends and not enemies. Our choise as a great human. Thank Sony for this one.
