Crucified? Are you kidding me? Pay no attention to the one star ratings given to this movie by people that don't understand the Hollywood formula. There's gotta be a villian. There's gotta be a happy ending... etc. Too intense? My family goes to the movie theatre to be entertained. Not lulled to sleep.
I took both my six and four year old girls to this movie and they loved it. The only thing they were scared of was the darkness of the theatre. And, I for once, was entertained as well. Pixar hit this one out of the park.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I agree with some other reviewers that this movie might not be great for very young children, but it was superb for any other age group. They found a way to bring in a lot of the fun lines (the claw!) that have made the franchise memorable, but had some new and interesting characters and conflicts. The end was great; not sappy, but not depressing either. I'm not an emotional person, and I didn't cry, but I was still touched.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

from White Plains, NThe center is more like a concentrY
Good cinema revolves around good stories, good directing, and good acting. This movie fills that bill. Its a story of coming of age of a child and the aging out of his toys. Those who have grown up on this tale will find it a fitting ending. It has something for everyone. And like Tom Hank's cowboy Woody, it never lets you down.
Andy, the boy who owns the toys is leaving for college. His toys are being left behind and end up at a day care center. Its a metaphor for seniors being left in an old age home. But there's a dark side. The center turns out to more like a concentration camp. An escape is planned. Its certainly not what you would expect but the story line works and shows the true meaning of friendship and loyalty.
A highlight is when Barbie meets Ken. They are just wonderful. Adults will laugh out loud at some of the sight gags not meant for the kids. Teens will relate to their own journey as they watch the characters they grew up with also come of age.
Pixar has done it once again!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

My wife and I attended feeling a bit out of place given the young families but quickly saw this was a mutligeneration movie. There is somethig there for all ages--and at work today that was reinforced as others our age and much younger shared their joy in this movie. See it!!

This is a fabulous conclusion (?) to the Toy Story Trilogy. A splendid romp with your old friends. Andy is off to college and his beloved toys are headed to off exile in the attic. Or are they? Experience 3-D version if possible. It really works. You actually forget about the glasses very early on and it adds so much to your enjoyment. And don't forget to take a tissue with you. You'll need it at the beginning, and the end.

Once again, the Pixar team creates an experience worth sharing with your family. So many great messages in this story and of course the animation is second to none.

Extremely good movie and even my husband enjoyed it immensely. I think they could have made more of the 3D aspect, especially since it costs more to see it. Very touching in spots, even when you were sure it would work out. After all, it is Toy Story. My 18 year old son said there were spots that his eyes watered up. Mine, too.

I honestly wasn't sure how the folks at Pixar could handle a third installment to the franchise but they knocked this one out of the park. It is a very touching movie (even my very stoic husband shed a little tear) and some scenes may be a bit intense but it was great overall. Will definately see again.

My kids loved this movie, even with some of the scarier scenes scattered throughout, and came away very happy and chattering about it. The one catch, is that it really isn't a movie I could watch again easily, due to how much of an emotional roller coaster it is. It's a far more even film than Wall-E and Up, as it doesn't really have any clear weak moments. Overall, worth seeing.

We really enjoyed "Toy Story 3" It is a great story in many ways: first, the reality of time and how our lives change even though we want to hold onto the good experinecs of the past, also, the great value in loyalty and honor in our relationships, and the importance of passing on a legacy to the future and not leaving it to chance. The animation and 3D effects were AMAZING, as was the level of humor and action packed anticipation. Good Job.

Shame on Disney for ending the TS series with this black, scary movie.
Sure, it's a technological tour de force. The 3D is really good.
But there is much to dislike: twisted, mean characters; violence; one character is even crucified at the end.
The small children in the theater with me frequently had to hide their eyes. Yet the rating is "G." This is way way scarier than past Disney productions.
Boo hiss Disney.

TS3 was fantastic! The themes were great--bullying, recycling, as always friendship, etc. And I never thought that an animated film could make me cry, but it did at the end. John Lasseter and the Pixar team have done it again. EVERYONE should see this movie!

Toy Story 3 is a heartwarming story on many levels: the bittersweet effects of growing older, the importance of friendship and love, and the acceptance of things one cannot change. Besides all that, it never lets one forget the importance of humor in our lives.
