I knew from the previews that I needed to see this in an IMAX theater. I was not wrong! I loved Christian Bale as Batman in Batman Begins. He lived up to the part this time as well. Heath Ledger did a fabulous job as the joker. He never once missed the mark in the way he took the character. I was disappointed that they didn't dedicate or at least mention his untimely death in the credits. Perhaps they will make up for it at the Oscars.

This movie is why you go see movies in the first place. Heath Ledger really should get an Oscar nomination for his role as the Joker, his performance was nothing short of amazing, this charactor was both terrifying and disturbing. The Scenes filmed in IMAX make spending the extra money to see the film on an IMAX screen worth every penny. Do NOT wait for this to go to DVD, see it on an IMAX screen.

Intense. There wasn't any real gore shown but they took you right up to it and your imagination did the rest. Loved the character developement and plot. Soundtrack is wonderful. Very moving. It was longer than most movies but never did it drag or did you wonder what time it was. Not for the faint of heart but would definitely recommend.

Thank god for Christopher Nolan and the actors in this film. Batman is a dark and captivating story enriched by intelligent villians and incredible story telling. The joker is riveting and Bruce Wayne is again an incredible character hiding a even greater secret. Let us hope that film producers and directors alike learn this dedication and skill set to make movies of this caliber.

AWESOME from start to finish. Those of us who were fans of Heath Ledger before his death will agree that any awards he wins are well deserved based on his performance and not the fact that he passed away. I was extremely happy that I bought my tickets on Thursday for the first Sunday IMAX show when I saw that ALL shows were sold out for the day. After the Dark Knight, "Ironman" (in my opinion) was downgraded to Die Cast Dude, and The "Incredible" Hulk was no more than sub-par.

great movie, i thought it was a bit long, some parts dragged. the roles of some were disappointing. Bale played a more dark role than hero, i guess hence the name, "dark knight". batman and joker didnt fight much and when they did joker got the best of him, which wasnt realistic considering batman just kicked the crap out of 20 guys at the same time. all in all, good movie, i will get the dvd

The bar for superhero movies has been set. This movie is Christopher Nolan's masterpiece. The Dark Knight is not just eye candy, this movie is deep, dark, and complex. I've already seen this movie twice just so I could listen to the dialogue for a second time. I've been a Batman fan since I was a kid (Batman: The Animated Series) and this Batman movie series is the way the story was meant to be told. See it, heck see it twice just to experience it on the big screen. It is very violent, so children under the age of 12 should not be allowed to see it. While Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker is spot on, it is too scary and uncompromising for young children. I'm trying to be unbiased when I say this, but as far as I'm concerned this is the best movie of the year.

This is one of the greatest films I can ever remember seeing. Everything about it is perfect. The worst thing I can think of to say about it is that the mayor wore too much eye make-up. And that's literally the worst thing I can say about the movie, and it's so minute. Everything was excellent. I'm not usually one to jump on the bandwagon and add to "opening weekend" mania, but since you couldn't watch TV, read a paper, or hold a conversation without hearing about this movie, I didn't want to wait. Well, I definetely wasn't disapointed! Amazing special effects, incredible acting, action and humor, it really had it all! If I hadn't known going in that the Joker was Heath Ledger, I wouldn't have believed it! A movie for kids over 10 or 11, but a great family event. One of the best movies! This movie was everything the critics said and more. Not only does Ledger give a stunning (unfortunately last) performance but I thought all the actors poured themselves into their respective roles. MOST impressive in the IMAX format. We will be seeing it again this weekend at Rhode Island's only remaining drive in movie but it's doubtful the sound and enthusiasm of the crowd will be the same. The crowd gasped, laughed, roared, and clapped at the showing at I was at. Far superior to the first Christian Bale version and in some ways even better than the original Micheal Keaton/ Jack Nickholson classic. One of the few movies I would pay bucks to see twice at a theater and cannot wait to see if any additional footage is released on DVD.

1st off the IMAX experience is amazing! The Dark Knight is almost too much of a good thing. I love the way the Nolan brothers & David Goyer have taken Batman to the very darkest corners of the human psyche. (Frank Miller should be very pleased with the influence he has had on this film & the last one.) But they may have gone too far with The Dark Knight. It is an excellent work of motion picture art! But it set a real bad buzz in my head. You can thank the Joker for that and Heath Ledger's portrayal of him. The Joker is beyond Hannibal Lecter, John Doe (7) & Alex Defarge. You heard countless raves about his performance, but none of it prepares you for it. The rest of the movie holds up against his intensity. Nolan has created a very depressing world of chaos, double crosses & corruption at almost every level. It is beautiful film to behold. The other actors give fine performances. Everything about this film is 1st rate. However it is not a easy film to experience.

First, let me start by saying it was such a loss with Heath Ledger. His performance of the Joker was mesmerizing, this isn't the whimsical, playful Joker played by Jack Nicholson, this was a dark, unforgiving, sinister Joker the likes which have never been seen. They only thing that may have been better then watching Dark Knight was seeing it at IMAX. I can not stress enough that if you are ANYWHERE within 50 miles of an Imax to drive there and experience this movie. It was amazing. Go see this movie.

Imax always impresses but The Dark Knight was a sight to behold. Non stop action from start to finish. A few plot twists that made me scrach my head. Lots of violence and explosions. My Husband is a HUGE Batman fan, so we saw this one at the I-Max the other night. It was SOOO worth it. I've never had 2.5 hours go by so quickly! Heath Ledger truly embodied the Joker like never before. The acting, stunts & makeup were truly unreal! This was so fast paced and action packed, laced with a titch of humor here and there - you'd have to be unconscious not to feel apart of the story yourself!

Seeing this movie in IMAX definitely worth it. The sounds and picture are great. Heath Ledger fits the part perfectly. A have to see again and again!

This movie must be watched at IMAX. Especially if you've never been to an IMAX screening. I think the movie stunned us all in the audience! I'm going to see it again. Never a dull moment. This is what batman is all about. This is the movie of the decade!

I don't want to reveal any plot twists or cameos, but I will say that this was the best movie I have seen in I don't know how long and rate it in my top 5 of all time. Heath Ledger gave a truly remarkable and oscar worthy performance. I can't wait to see this movie at the IMAX again next weekend.

This movie was a wonderful rescue to the less then popular last Batman. I remained in tune, thrilled and anxious to see what would happen next. The Joker gave a great performance as both comical, and the villian we have been waiting to see. Batman's character filled up to expectations and iI highly recommend seeing this in IMAX for the full thrill ride it deserves. Overall worth every dime!!

Yes yes Heath was amazing as the Joker, and at the risk of offending many I think his portrayal is far and away better than Mr. Nicholson's tame portrayal back in the 80's. Heath was able to BECOME the Joker. His chaotic laugh, wiry frame, and perfectly imperfect face paint makes him a comic book movie legend. Its too bad that he is no longer with us because I think he would have a better chance with Oscar if he was in the building when they give the trophy to the winner. Aaron Eckhart gives an unheralded performance as the "White Knight" and future Two Face. He was a force through the whole movie taking on the mob and any criminal that he had the goods on but when his persona changes, he becomes a force to be reckoned with, on par with the maniacal Joker. I saw the movie at midnight opening night then went back to see the IMAX version Sunday night. It gets better each time I see it. I urge everyone to ignore every commercial for Batman that they see and rush to your nearest theater or IMAX and experience possibly the best comic book turned movie produced to date.

We were not prepared for The Dark Knight to be as good as it ended up being. The acting especially Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart was surpassed (perhaps) only by the script and pacing. This is the first movie in a while where we did not know what was coming next. This film is easily worth the hype and even better than Batman Begins. But don't take my word or anyone elses...go see it yourself.
The IMAX Experience definitely added another order of magnitude to the experience and see it in IMAX if you can.

Had to see if this movie was going to live up to the hype. As most of you know, I do not really like a lot of CGI or all that extra added eye candy but this movie passed the test. Not only was this movie the sequel to one of my favorites but it had every bit as much realism and nail biting moments as the original and more. I wouldnt pass up the opportunity to see this film in IMAX but make the time to see it regardless.
