The Darkest Knight

1st off the IMAX experience is amazing!
The Dark Knight is almost too much of a good thing. I love the way the Nolan brothers & David Goyer have taken Batman to the very darkest corners of the human psyche. (Frank Miller should be very pleased with the influence he has had on this film & the last one.)
But they may have gone too far with The Dark Knight. It is an excellent work of motion picture art! But it set a real bad buzz in my head. You can thank the Joker for that and Heath Ledger's portrayal of him. The Joker is beyond Hannibal Lecter, John Doe (7) & Alex Defarge. You heard countless raves about his performance, but none of it prepares you for it.
The rest of the movie holds up against his intensity. Nolan has created a very depressing world of chaos, double crosses & corruption at almost every level.
It is beautiful film to behold. The other actors give fine performances. Everything about this film is 1st rate. However it is not a easy film to experience.
