This movie is a prime example of the pitfalls of translating a book people love to the big screen. While it was loyal to the story and followed the book faithfully, it must be said that to do that properly the movie should have been at least two or three hours longer. It's my opinion the screenplay could have been adapted better to tell the tale properly in two hours. The acting was somewhat wooden, I didn't see any chemistry between Edward and Bella. Overall I thought the movie was fun, but maybe not worth the high ticket price of the theatre. Wait until it comes out on DVD.

I really loved the transition from book to movie. It really made all the characters stand out on their own. I would really recommend this movie to others who have/haven't yet read the books.

This movie was beyond fantastic. Unlike others, i\it gave you what you wanted when you wanted it. There was no waiting around to get to the good part. The whole movie was excellent! In addition, this two hour long movie seemed more like 2 seconds in length because it captures your attention the whole time. Anyone who has seen it agrees. I highly reccomend this movie to all movie fans.

I thought this movie did justice to the book, especially in the casting. The two leads are exactly as I pictured them and they are magnetic and alluring, especially Edward! The bad guys are not too bad to scare my younger (11) daughter, who loved the books and desperately wanted to see the movie. Only concern is that Bella would die for someone she loves--it was a superficial handling and could be misconstrued. But to heck with critics who say this is old-fashioned or portrays a fear of sex--these are young people with urges but they are kind and loving and connected just enough to be realistic to young fans. I loved it!

It is a rare occasion when a movie and a book are exactly the same, unfortunately Twilight the movie deviated a bit from the book, but I think it was due mostly to the 2-hr time of the film. Hardwicke would've needed at least 3.5 hours to cram in all the details.
However, my friend and I weren't disappointed; plenty of hot vampire eye candy and great fight scenes. I felt the connection between Bella and Edward was rushed some, you could feel their tension but the extent of their love wasn't portrayed as well as most would like. Nevertheless, we still walked out of of theatre loving Edward and the whole Cullen coven.

OK I went in there knowing that they would have to edit out parts of the book but I was OK with that. If they didn't do that then it would have been 4 hours long. But over all I honestly thought the movie was great. Visually and all. The characters were great I loved how they made Bella's friends come alive and I loved Alice! Oh and Nikki Reed played Rosalie to the T!!! But I only have one concern. Rob who plays Edward. I honestly don't think he lived up the part. I mean there were scenes where he truly got it like really did but there were other parts where I was like oh no! I think he needs more time to get into the role and next time he needs to listen to the author on how Edward is! For crying out loud she wrote him!

Loved it! Stayed with the story line, the actors perfectly matched the characters in the book. It caught the main points in the book and the ending made us want to come back for more.

I read the series this summer and was looking forward to the movie. I would love to review the movie but I missed parts of it due to the horrible people in the audience. They laughed and squealed throughout, even laughing while Bella was dying. I and others were repeatedly pelted with candy. During the first attempt at a kiss between Bella and Adward, a special scene, a guy decides to yell out a vulgar statement and all the mindless ones in the audience laughed in encouragement. Did anyone else experience such a horrible time? I will watch it again but I will shop for a time and theater that less youths attend. That said, I look forward to seeing it again (some parts for the first time) and anxiously await the next one!

I am very glad that I went to see this movie! I don't go to the theater often, but this is worth it. I am going again this next week to watch with a friend who hasn't seen it yet. Fun!!! If you have read the book, you will understand the hints that are scattered throughout. Definitely a terrific movie.

Although they left out some parts of the book, they did an excellent job of getting the main points across. I think they did an excellent job of picking the cast. The ending of the movie (Victoria watching Edward & Bella at Prom) was gripping and makes me want to go back to see the sequel, New Moon. Good Job & Congrats to Stephenie Meyer, the cast, director and everyone in between for the progress of the new hit movie, Twilight.

Although this movie left out some detail, it stayed very true to the book. I had images in my mind while reading the book and the screenplay did them justice. I took my older sister to see the movie and she cannot wait to read the book. Thanks for staying true to the characters!! Great job. Can't wait for the next one!!

This was a very good movie especially if you enjoyed the books. It stayed very close to the storyline of the book and that was a good thing. I went with my 13 yr old daughter and 4 of her friends. They all enoyed it but felt somethings from the book were left out...I don't agree. If they included everything from the book the movie would be 6 hours long. Will definitely buy the DVD when it comes out. Love the soundtrack and Robert Pattinson IS Edward!

Not sure what to expect, but it turned out great in my opinion. I think they followed the book as close at they could. The movie was 2hrs and it seemed as if it just flew by! I can't wait to see the follow up movies! It will be interesting to see if the rating goes from pg13 to R!

For all those ladies out there who have complained that Robert Pattinson is not cute enough to play Edward, I suggest you re-read your books. Pattinson is perfect as THE eternal heart-throb! When Edward dons a pair of sunglasses, opens the car door for Bella, walking together into school...I felt a bit faint. The mood of the film is exactly right, faithful to the novel. I have to admit that I thought Kristen Stewart might make Bella too hard but she proved me wrong. In fact, Stewart worked through all the emotions that our Bella feels by making the audience see that we are watching a real teen fall in love for the first time! I love the prom dress that she pairs with a stylish sweater, and capri tights, exactly something a teen would wear.

Went to see the movie on Premiere night with my neighbor and fellow Twilight Mom. Our girls are too young to be reading the series but we got hooked through my sister-in-law who is a middle school English teacher. We were so excited to see the movie. We bought our tickets weeks ago. The screaming girls were a little frustrating since it was hard to hear in some parts. I wish the movie would have never ended. I'm going back with my husband next weekend.

I was very worried going into this movie that I was going to be disappointed in the adaptation from the book. However I was happily surprised! The movie was a good adaptation of the book, a little weak in some spots, but overall a great success. My only complaint is the casting of Jacob...a bit of a letdown. However, overall a very entertaining movie, can't wait for the next ones!

I thought that it was a really good movie. The only bad thing about it was that they left out alot from the book. Some of them were important scenes too. The actors were really good too. I have read this 4 times. I saw the 7:15 on Friday and was disappointed. Felt like I was speed reading, it left out some great moments, and Edward had cheesy lines. (Edward is never cheesy, he is intense) Saw it again at 10:45, better the 2nd time. Knew what to expect. Enjoyed a vampire love story versus anticipating the next scene that never came. Its not the book, it never will be, but it is Edward. That's all that matters.

If you read the book series, then you absolutely love the movie! The movie totally lived up to my expectations (my expectations were VERY high). The screenwriter did an excellent job transferring the book into a movie. If you have the read the books, then you will love all the little innuendos throughout the movie that will make you laugh out loud. And trust me we all laughed out loud it was funny and romantice and a thriller all in its own. What amazing things they did to show the speed of the Cullens. All the characters did an exceptional job, especially Edward, Rosalie, and Jasper (he was great). I was not at all disappointed." I will recomend you read the series befor seeing the movie! AWESOME

I thought Twilight was great! I've read the series and I think that they did as well as they could staying true to the book without making it a 3 hour movie. If you haven't read the book, there are parts of the movie that won't mean as much to you but it's still a fun movie to watch. Edward and Bella were perfectly cast. Pattinson's expressive face and manner conveys the feeling of the book better than extra dialogue could. The chemistry between them works on film as well as it does in the book. All in all it's a nice bit of escapism and if you're a fan of the series, you'll be anxious for a sequel!
