It is a rare occasion when a movie and a book are exactly the same, unfortunately Twilight the movie deviated a bit from the book, but I think it was due mostly to the 2-hr time of the film. Hardwicke would've needed at least 3.5 hours to cram in all the details.
However, my friend and I weren't disappointed; plenty of hot vampire eye candy and great fight scenes. I felt the connection between Bella and Edward was rushed some, you could feel their tension but the extent of their love wasn't portrayed as well as most would like. Nevertheless, we still walked out of of theatre loving Edward and the whole Cullen coven.
