From the moment I heard they were making Twilight a movie I knew they would screw it up! The first thing that drove me crazy: casting. When I heard Robert was going to be playing Edward, I was very unhappy. He definately didn't deliver! The emotions on his face were so off. He always looked like he was going to cry and during their kissing scene, he was cringing. My other concerns were that they skipped too many scenes and the dialogue was off. Everything was worded way better in the book. The way they had Edward saying things made him seem like a stalker.
Although there were many things that I absolutely hated, it was good for a movie. On the other hand, if you are a die-hard fanpire like i am, the movie will NEVER live up to the book.

This movie was 5 stars for someone who has read the book. 4 stars because the plot might seem a little thin if you haven't read the book. The scenery and atmosphere of the movie was gorgeous and perfect, and at parts has your heart in your throat. It was wonderful.

this movie was the best movie i have ever see.
my 13 year old daughter read all the books, and was dying to see the movie. i didnt read the books, but i went with her to see it. before it started i was like just another love story. but after the movie was over i was amazed, this is the best movie of all time. and i would totally recommend this movie to everyone!

This movie was excellet. It brought everything to the viewers that the book did. It was very intense at times and you could feel alot of the same emotions you did while reading the book. Bella was perfect.

I honestly would not reccomend Twilight to a friend. I think they rushed the release and assumed that everyone would see it whether it was bad or not. I read the series religiously and it bothered me that the movie was so extremely different from the book. The scenes that they had right were all out of order, they cut out many, many scenes from the book, and they also added things that didn't happen. They changed all kinds of things and, well, I didn't enjoy it at all.

Even though the movie was a little different than the book and not as good (but then again what movies actually are) I still liked this movie. I thought the actors that played Bella and Edward did a great job and they ended up fitting the image I had in my mind of them. The actors that played Rosalie and Jasper didn't really fit my image of them but I guess for the small parts they played in the movie they were fine. Overall I thought it was good and it made me want to go and read the books again and hope that they continue to make more movies based on the books.

I took 10 teenagers and a 25 year old to this movie. Some of us had read the books and were die hard fans. Some were just going for fun. We all enjoyed the movie. I am one of the die hard fans and was very pleased with how closely they stayed to the book story line. I really didn't think they could pull it off, given the intense emotion in the book, but they managed to capture it. I am still amazed at how well these actors did that. I will definitely see it again!

Although movies are never as good as the books - and this is true in this case - Twilight was great! I was glad I had read Meyer's unfinished manuscript (posted on her website) "Midnight Sun" written from Edwards perspective - so I was able to understand Edwards thoughts & side of things. I look forward to the sequels. I can't wait to see how they script the wolves!

Twilight was opened to high expectations from a world full of Twilighters. I think it met some of those expectations. Many of our favorite quotes were seen in the movie, although not necessarily where we would have placed them. Furthermore, the theme and feeling of the book was communicated and nothing in that manner was lost in the conversion to the screen. However, the movie does feel a bit rushed as though each scene was simply stuck in to get the quotes and such in the movie, and it lacked a feeling of fluidity. I myself am an avid Twilighter and I love the books, but I think the movie achieved the best adaptation that could be expected and it is absolutely worth the trip to the movies to see, whether you read the books or not.

Loved the series, however, the book builds up an intimate relationship between Bella and Edward that the movie didn't portray well. Watching it, I felt as though they were strangers. Bella was so utterly in love with him and the movie portrayed more fear and anxiety. Just a thought.

This was an exceptionally good movie. It follows the book quite closely which I was surprised. I cant wait to see the remaining 3 books in movie form, in which the storyline really gets involved and will have everyone sitting on the edge of their seats waiting and wanting more. I give this movie a 5+/5.

I disagree with the reviews that say they followed the book on what they chose to keep in. They actually changed so many things that simply didn’t need to be changed. Why did they have to change Jacob's explanation of the Quileute legends? What's with the dinner the Cullen's prepared for Bella? Why change who said "her blood tastes clean" when Edward was saving Bella in the ballet studio? Why change the meadow scene? Alice all but disappeared into the background. They could have stayed truer to the book for what they kept in and all I can hope is that they do a better job going forward. It was, however, not the worst book adaptation I have ever seen and I think Bella and Edward were cast perfectly. Some of the others, not so much.

I have seen the movie twice. The first time I liked it, the second time I loved it. I thought all of the actors did a great job potraying their characters except Kristen Stewart. She obviously had a hard time connecting with Bella and it showed. However, I would not recommend seeing this movie if you have not read the books. They make refrence to things from the other books, so you might have a hard time following what is going on. If you love the Cullen men in the books, you will still love them on the big screen!

I LOVED the movie as much as the book. I was skeptical before seeing it because of other's reviews, but I was completely pleased. If you love the book, you will for sure love the movie. By the way, I am 24... not a teen.
FYI- We had someone go with us to see it that had never read the book and she still loved it. Don't let the other reviews discourage you... go see it for yourself!

What movie can live up to the incredible details a writer puts into a book. It would have been a 6hr movie had they done it the way the book was. I LOVED THE MOVIE. To finally see my characters that I dreamed about on film was incredible. Really impressed w/Jessica, Jasper (they didn't touch on his relationship much w/Bella-missed that moment he tells her she is worth it) & of course Carlisle just as I expected. Cheesy, at times but what vampire movie doesn't have those moments. Definately if you didn't read the book I think you could not appreciate all the little inuendos...but could still walk away with a great feeling of true love for these characters. Great job can't wait for the next one.

It was for a movie very much in line with the first book. I enjoyed it and found the actors well casted to the images so well described by the author in the book. As an adult I found it engaging and very well done for such a limited budget. And the actor who played Bella is going to be a knockout as she grows up. She is quite stunning. I took my mom, another adult friend and her mother-in-law. We all enjoyed the movie, even the one who had not read the book.

If you are looking for a light-hearted, romance movie this is it. You need to have read the first book at least, otherwise you will be wondering why the dialogue sounds so strange (cheeseball). Some of the special effects leave a lot more to be desired, but most fangirls, like myself, aren't looking for that anyway. Not the best movie ever, but may move into one of the top spots when it comes out on DVD.
I can't wait to see it again today with my coworkers. This time I can actually give it my full attention. Because I won't be assessing whether or not I like the movie. That is a given. The pressure is off and I can just sit back and be dazzled.
Update: The second time was better than the first. I can't wait to see it again.

Twilight was incredibly corny in the beginning and the whole theater was cracking up. But towards the middle of the movie it became probably one of my favorite movies. If you read the book, it was a bit of a disappointment. If not, it was pretty good.

Twilight definatly passed my expectations, and i thought it was very good and that all the actors did a good job portraying their characters. However, the scenes seemed somewhat rushed, and it jumped around from place to place in the book. There were some things in the books that were overtly stated that should have been included, but were not. The transitions may have made it seem sloppy. But overall, the movie was great and i would suggest seeing it if you enjoyed the books, but don't hold high expectations.

I have not read the book. My 12 year old daughter wanted to see so we went to the matinee Saturday.It started slow but then picked up about 20 minutes in. I thought the story line was ok..My daughter thought the lead actor was cute. I did not think so but what does a 51 year old know.I enjoyed the movie was not scared and there was several chuckle places in the movie.

So everyone knew that it wouldnt be AS excellent as the book, but I think that it's still awesome, there's humor in it more than expected but thats ok, and i wish it could've been longer but that just wouldn't work. But when you can walk away from a movie and have that same smile that you have when you read the book, the one where you just cant seem to stop smiling, i consider that a pretty great movie.

If they honestly tryed to make it just like the book then we'd really be disappointed because they got one thing wrong and the movie would have to be like twelve hours long. I have never been one to sit down and read however after seeing Stephanie on Sunday Morning weeks ago I went online and bought the series and completed them very quickly and have continued to share them with family and friends. I am a 38 years old woman who found the movie and casting exactly how I pictured they would be from the cars to the homes. I like the way the movie flowed and I look forward to future movies. The final book in the series will be an outstanding movie!! I can not wait. I will go and see it again! Excellent job to all!
