It was fantastic!! I came out of the movie really wanting to see the second one, hope there will be one??? Edward cullen's acting skills with his passion towards bellas was amazing. makes you want to strive for that kind of connection in real life. i LOVED it. if you read the book you would love it even more!!!

As a huge fan of the Twilight book series by Stephanie Meyer, I felt the movie was absolutely awsome. There were only a few scenes that were different from the book, the rest of the movie hit the book head on. That is rare. I will say there was just a little cheesy acting, but overall the movie hit every expectation i was hoping for. Also just informed by summit entertainment that this movie was such a big hit they will be moving on the the next book in the series new moon...thanks for not leaving the fans in limbo. I cant wait for the next one!!

The novel is a blossoming love between an ordinary girl and a handsome immortal being. This is lost in a film that does not focus enough on the building of the relationship between Edward and Bella. Since the proper foundation is not laid for their relationship, all intimate moments are awkward and unnatural.
Why was money spent on making the vampires fly? How about the glittering Edward? A sparkling man is okay on the pages of a novel. In a movie he should simply have a warm glow about him because the glitter looks cheap.
The dialog also kills the mood because some lines like “sick, masochistic lion” are nice to read, but when delivered ineptly in the movie it moves one to chuckles because of how goofy it sounds.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I didn't either. I took my daughter and her friend to the movie with no expectation that it would be anything I'd want to see. I thought it might be a nice two hour nap. The movie grabbed me up and didn't let go. I don't know how well it stuck to the book's story but I'm now reading the book to find out. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone and I have!

this movie was amazing. as it ALWAYS is with books and movies, there were details left out but i still received the same feeling that the book gave me.
the chemistry between bella and edward was amazing! rob pattinson did an amzing job playing scary, sexy, hopelessly in love edwards. and kristin stewart was amazing playing clumsy, devoted, fearless bella.
the first kiss was magic!

I also enjoyed the movie! I did have to remind myself the same way I remind my students; movies will not always be like the books, they have to change things for the sake of time and action. I did try not to be picky.
I thought the portrayal of the characters was extremely good; Rosalie and Alice were dead on. Of course Edward was extremely hot along with James.
My husband knew nothing of this book, he thought the movie was very good, just a little choppy and didn't explain things to the non-Twilighters. There were parts he didn't get because he hadn't read the book. The only annoying part for him was me giggling incessantly!
I will definitely watch this movie again and again.

I eagerly anticipated the Twilight movie after reading all of the Stephanie Meyer books. I was almost certain that I would be let down. However, it was well worth the ticket price and I may go see it again. There is wonderful chemistry between Edward and Bella which is definitely the highlight. I do wish that they would have given Jacob a bit more in the story line. Also, the "sparkling" scene was less than sparkling. Overall, really good. I'm looking forward to the next movie.

...but I liked it. It was way girly and a little stalkerish on the lovefest but I caught myself smiling and laughing. This was my least favorite book out of the series because it was the mushiest. I can't wait for the other movies tho!

I think the 4 book Saga is incredible....even for a 39 year old. I also really enjoyed the movie!!! It will always be an all time favorite movie of mine and I will buy it as soon as possible. I understand the limitations you have with a movie compared to the book and that they couldn't possibly have included everything. I have recommended to friends to PLEASE read the book first, I feel as though people that haven't read the book won't like/understand the movie as well.

If you go to see this movie hoping for a direct translation from book to screen, then you may be a bit disappointed, but it is not a bad movie. The spirit of the book is there and the chemistry between Edward and Bella is still there. Go see it, just keep an open mind

Okay so I'm a HUGE fan of the twilight books. I never went into the theater with high expectations, but I was pleasently surprised. I thought the actors did a really good job. The romance parts were excellent. The story line was very fast, and it doesn't let you see the true development of the relationship between Edward and Bella. And also I didn't like the fact that James, Victoria and Laurent came into the story too soon. They were supposed to be just passing through and then heard the baseball game. All the same I did really like the movie itself, even if I did have to explain some of the movie to my friends who didn't read the book. I say go see it, but with an open mind. Movies never catch EVERYTHING that is said in the book.

I loved this movie. It kept up with the book. I loved the characters and the actors who played them.They did a great job picking out the actors. The kissing scene was HOT! It was nothing like I thought it would be and I would definitely this movie again.

I have not read the books ( I will be very, very quickly), but I thought the movie was great. I went with my daughter and sister as a "girl day out" and we all loved it. I can understand why the young ladies are raving about Edward & Bella. Even this "gran" was impressed!

I don't think the directors had actually read the book LOL
Edward looked as tho he would vomit when Bella entered the class room rather than wanting to suck her blood.

An interesting retake on teen angst and not fitting in. Who knew vampires could have such a conflicted life. What can you expect from 200 year old teenage vampires with ethics? The movie diviated from the book by adding some scenes and leaving a couple out. All in all it stayed true to the book.
Special effects were OK, but makeup could have been better.
Acting was fair with boy gazing at 100% with shot after shot of Edward.
Hope they have more of a budget for the next one.

Like so many fans, I have read the entire series of Twilight and loved the books. Stephenie Meyer's a truly talented author. However, I was some what disappointed with the movie. The setting was beautiful and the script didn't botch the book entriely, staying true to some parts of the book. However, the acting on Kristin Stewart's (Bella) part was horrible. She kept the same face and tone through the whole movie. Rob Pattinson (Edward) wasn't as big of a disappointment as I thought he would be (since he's not the Edward I would imagine). He was a little too emotional and weak in some parts that I felt Edward was not in the book but he defintely saved some scenes with Kristin. Sadly, I would not recommend this film.

Having read all four books in the Twilight series, I found the movie as good as any book turned movie can be. The fact that half the people who will see it haven't read the book, so they will probably find the plot strange and some of the lines and faces to be a bit humorous and slightly cheesy, but I found it to be a very good portrayal of the way Stephanie Meyer described the way the Cullen’s reacted and interacted with Bella. The special effects were great, and the ballet studio scene was perfect, just as I seen it in my head while reading. I would recommend it to everyone I know.

LOVED the movie...saw it 3 times opening weekdend!!! Prepared myself before hand that there was NO WAY they could put ALL of the information in the book, into the movie. I think they did the best they could with the time allowed. I did feel a little 'rushed' towards the end of the movie! Can't wait for New Moon!!! Get to work, guys!!!! LOL

I'm a "Twi-mom" and I've read all four books and was so worried that the movie would never be good enough but I was not disappointed. I LOVED it!! I'm hoping that the sequels will go more in depth and be longer and I will definitely go see this one again!

I thought the movie was great. It's a very different vampire movie compared to like Van Helsing and Underworld. Their traits are different. Some parts are different from the book. I still enjoy the book better though since it's of course more detailed. Other than that, I loved the characters and Edward is so hot. Their love is spectacular.

I have read all of the books in the Twilight series. I went in to see this movie with the thought that the movie would be different than the book. And I am glad it did. The most important parts of the book were there along with some added bits. Ultimately, I loved the movie because it made me fall in love with the characters all over again.

I really enjoyed the movie. There was a lot left out but all the main points were there and I understand there was only so much time.
