The movie was very well done. Loved the characters however it went a little fast with not a lot of explanation. I of course have read all 4 books and loved them all. I went with 11 friends and we are all 39 - 49 years old. A few of them haven't read the books and found it a little hard to follow. They did like the movie and are now encouraged to read the books. Good job overall!

I have read all the books, and was so excited to see this movie! When I finally got to see it, it was so worth the wait! They did a really good job! They did the best they could with the budget and the way the book is written and only in two hours. I agree with most people it could have been a little bit longer, but it was still an awesome movie, and they kept in all the great stuff from the book, and followed it pretty well.

I loved the movie! I read all the books, and i enjoyed the portrayal of the movie form the books. The cast was perfect, eventoh bella could of done a better job, but overall the movie was phenomenal. The ending fight scene, the hospital scene, and the baseball scene where my ultimate favorites. They so totally outdid the choppy special effects and made the film look better the second half, the lullaby was pretty, loved the kiss scene can you say hot, so totally worth ditching school over, watching ti twice and spending 22 dollars over!

I could not wait to see this movie. I absolutely loved the Twilight series. However, the movie was a real let down. The story wasn't really portrayed well. The love shown between Bella and Edward was so odd. There was no real exciting romance.
I understand that there is only so much time to see a movie. I would rather have seen a three hour movie done well than a two hour one done poorly.
If they do future movies of the Twilight series I would hope that Stephenie Meyers will have more input and the story be more involved. After all, it was her writing that hooked us all and that is making this Twilight movie so hot right now.

This movie was perfect. I squealed at every part. It was funny, and you could definitely feel the romance between Bella and Edward, just like the books. The characters were brilliant and it definitely lived up to expectations. I would go see it again if I could!!

As a movie, without regard to the fact that it was made off of a book, it was erratic and dramatic. It was like a soap opera with rare moments of accuracy. Combined with the fact that it was supposed to be a visual interpretation of the book...it had uneccesary detail to events that didnt actually occur in the book and essentially didnt enhance the plot.

I was hopeful the movie would live up to the book but didn't know what to expect. I think they did a fantastic job. Obviously they had to cut a lot to condense it down to 2 hours. You didn't get to see the complexity of Edward's character in the movie as well but Robert did a great job! I am definitely going to see it again! I'm going to wait awhile because all the screaming teenage girls ruined it a little for me. I could live without that the second time around!

This was a very good movie.
Obviously it is not as good as the books, but that is to be expected. I think that the actors did a wonderful job portraying the characters and lived up to the magic of the book quite well.

I was very worried that I wouldnt like this movie because the only character that I thought was dead on from the book was James----But I was pleasantly surprised. Twilight was SPECTACULAR!! It was very close to the book especially with all the dialogue. The baseball scene was AMAZING!! I would definately go see it again and am definately going to buy it when it comes out. I think it helps to have read the book to know a little more about the characters.

This movie was what i have been waiting for since Febuary and to tell you the truth it was a little disappointing. Hardwicke just wasn't the right director for this film if you ask me. She doesn't understand how to anything in this movie except the romance.The Special effects looked kind of cheesy and the whole thing was a bit rushed. Like the whole movie wasn't as important as the fight scene. The fight scene by the way could have been done a lot better, and Kristen Stewart? Ya, she's got the "bella" look but she just didn't convince me that she was in love with Edward. All the characters did great, even the ones with only a few lines, but the most important one (Bella) just wasn't convincing.

I thought the movie plot was good! If you compare it to the book, you are going to be missing a lot. Many seen in my opinion were understated. For those of you who are aware that most movies very seldom (if every) follow books to the letter and go to see the movie with this in mind, you will agree that this is a well done and entertaining enactment of Twilight. The characters portrayed their roles well, the action and special effects were great and parts of the landscape were gorgeous. Yes... this definitely does NOT encompass the entire seriers of books and it is apparent that there will or should be sequals coming. I will defnitely buy the DVD when it comes out too!

It’s ironic that the director claims to have read all four of the books; this movie undermined everything stephenie meyer wrote. The screen adaptation butchered this beautifully addicting story. They wasted such an amazing cast on poor, awkward dialogue and interactions. The portrayal of Bella's character was pitiful, although I do not place the blame on Kristin Stewart. The audience couldn't stop laughing, and I'm pretty sure that reaction was not intended. Bella's constant unhappiness and the over-exaggerations were painful to watch. As an older fan, I was extremely disappointed as I watched one of my favorite stories get ruined on-screen. After seeing this movie I have to go back and reread to recapture the magic of this epic love story.

My main critique of the movie is that they rushed the love story so fast that had I not read the book I would have no idea why these two fell in love. However, how do you fit 500 pages of a love story into a 2 hour movie that you’re trying to appeal to many audiences, not just the book readers?
I thought that the movie was entertaining and enjoyable. For the diehard readers wanting every single scene from the book to be accurately and extensively portrayed in the movie, I could understand the disappointment. But you have to separate Twilight the book from Twilight the movie. It’s just impossible to move from book to screen as the movies have limits where you imagination does not.

You really would have to read the book to pick up on some of the things in the movie. I like the fact that it followed the book closely. I enjoyed the movie parts that involved other cast members besides Bella and Edward. The Bella and Edward drama scenes were way too long.

Honestly, I did enjoy this movie. Was the book better? Aren't they always? Still Hollywood did a good job turning this amazing book into a movie.
I did notice that if I hadn't read the books, I probably would have gotten lost here and there.
None of the actors chosen for the film were who I pictured as the characters in my head but I think they made me believe they could be the characters by the end of the movie.
I recommend going if you love Twilight!

My husband and I went to see the movie. I have read the saga and he has not. I loved the movie and thought they did a great job of re-eneacting the book. Of course I would have loved to have see more of Bella's clumsy scenes or more of the question and answer sections as in the book but there is a time limit on a movie. My husband thought it was the best movie of the year so far and he hasn't read the books. He can't wait for a sequel either.

The movie has an amazing story line. However, I felt that the acting or directing was poor in some parts. I was expecting Edward to be more smooth than he was. I understood his characters conflict in the beginning but after a while I wanted him to be more sexy than he was. He lacked the confidence that I wanted him to have. He is abnormally strong and fast so I don't get his "poor puppy dog" act in parts. And Bella drove me nuts in parts. I mean she is in love with a vampire, I think that calls for more emotion and distress. Edward is the lion and Bella is the lamb but it appeared to be the opposite. The only thing that made me want more was the story line.

I have read the entire series and was very excited to see the movie. I will be honest and say that I was definitely not blown away....a little disappointed I guess. I know it is hard to fit all of the scenes from the book into the movie but I did feel that the movie was a bit choppy and the acting was not as good as I had expected. I was expecting to get to know the Cullen's more and was shocked that the family only had a few scenes. It was o.k. I'm definitely reading the book again. Way better in my imagination than on screen!

The movie was just plain bad. So incredibly full of itself, and the acting was just awful. The movie was just like a cheesy CW t.v. show. It seemed like the two main actors were just competing to see who can make their incredibly frequent three-word sentences last the longest.
