It could have been PG13 for the sake darkness, some violence and behavior of one of the main characters, but it depends on what your under 13s are exposed to. It was fine for my kids and they enjoyed it. Those familiar with Tim Burton films should know what to expect. I personally LOVE everything he does and couldn't wait to see the the movie. The story has some basics of the original Alice in Wonderland story, so if you aren't familiar with Alice in Wonderland at all... you may struggle with the concept. The sets were creative, the costumes were fantastic! Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter played their characters in the style only they can deliver... it was excellent!
Excellent heart-wrenching love story. It was a better movie than the book. My only complaint was it ended like someone shut the book on your face... very abruptly. But this only makes you want to hurry and see the next one.
I would recommend this movie to any age group. It's light and touches your heart. It let's you leave the theater feeling happy and asking everyone "which was your favorite character?"
It was okay. I was expecting to see a lot more funny parts that what the previews showed, but there wasn't much more. There were a couple of parts that were a bit cruder than PG-13 so I would caution you about taking anyone younger.
The special effects and action were excellent. I absolutely LOVE the character of Rorschach. They did great job aging Carla Gugino to play the role of the older Mom of Laurie/Jupiter. A couple of warnings.... make sure you take that final bathroom break before you go into the theater for almost 3 hours so you don't miss part of the movie. If you are not comfortable with violence, blood and nudity... this would probably not be a good movie choice for you. It definitely is full on R rated movie, so I wouldn't recommend it for anyone younger than mature teens.
For those of you who are aware that most movies very seldom (if every) follow books to the letter and go to see the movie with this in mind, you will agree that this is a well done and entertaining enactment of Twilight. The characters portrayed their roles well, the action and special effects were great and parts of the landscape were gorgeous. Yes... this definitely does NOT encompass the entire seriers of books and it is apparent that there will or should be sequals coming. I will defnitely buy the DVD when it comes out too!
I was waiting for this movie to come to theaters because I knew it was the final movie that Bernie Mac and Issac Hayes made (both died within days of each other shortly following the filming of this movie). It was extremely funny and Bernie Mac's comedy style (language wise) was similar to his stand up comedy. It's definitely worth going to see. I don't think it's been advertised much.... so get to the theaters while it's still playing.
Great action/adventure movie... with just the right amount of action/suspense so that I didn't feel like I was having an anxiety attack... so it was actually entertaining. All of the actors did an excellent job, cinematography was great too. I think I would have enjoyed it a little better if it was not so loud. I kind of had the feeling of coming from a rock concert after I left the theather and it took a couple of days for my ears to feel normal again.
I took my daughter and friend to see High School Musical 3. We all loved this movie. The music, singing and dancing was excellent. We will be buying the soundtrack and most likely will see the movie again while it's still in theaters. If you are a High School Musical fan, you will definitely love this. Also, for the young female fans, there is a new cast member they will definitely like.
