The movie was good but some of it was very disappointing. They added a lot of scenes that weren't in the book. when they should have put more detail in it. The actors were good and they got them right. Over all it was an amazing movie. I would go seen it again.

Loved it. Had travelled to Seattle last summer as part of a vacation with my teen girls - they suggested going to FOrks and LaPush. After going there and now seeing the movie, it was fun to recognize some of the places ...although it wasn't filmed in Forks, some places were included. Bella Italia wasn't the one that's in Port ANgeles. And LaPush beach wasn't the one in the movie. But that's ok. It still depicted the dreary, wet, cloudy, rainy, cold weather as a very cool setting for this movie. Bella was right on as the conflicted, clumsy, shy introverted yet totally love stricken teen that she is in the book. She made the movie for me.

I read the book befor ewatching the movie and it was pretty much accurate. There were a few things left out that I thought were important but other than that, fabulous movie and awesome job with the cast. I would definitely recommend watching this movie!!!

Coming from someone who hasn't read any of the books (I'm not particularly interested in the writing style of Meyers), I have to say that after watching this film twice, I actually kind of love it. I think the way in which the entire movie was shot made it worth the watch. And the actors manage to hold their characters really well so this isn't some sort of sappy love story with bright colors and big smiles. The grim overcast of Forks, Washington makes the vibe seem different. It gives you a perception of how bland, uneventful and strange the small town and its people are. All in all, I thought all of the actors did a fantastic job with their characters and can't wait for the following sequels!

I really did not enjoy this movie. I used to enjoy the book series quite a lot, but the more I read it, the more I begun to dislike it. I began to find error after error and well, I am a traditional vampire person. I am not for the vampires Stephenie Meyer created. As for the movie, I have a few reasons for not liking it. I believe the movie was poorly casted. I thought the acting was not only poor, but they made the movie melodramatic, which was more annoying than amusing. Not only that, but the special effects were terrible. It was not the worst movie I have ever seen, but it was surely not the best. As I intended to, I am sticking to what I think is the best book series: Harry Potter.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I have read the Twilight books and loved them, that being said, I never let myself have high expectations of the movie. I was not disappointed. I really liked the movie. I was with a large group of friends ages 18-49 and overall everyone liked it. Movies are NEVER as good as the book. I will say the 2nd time I went I liked it much better; you are able to enjoy it for what it is not what it isn't. I thought the casting was great. We knew this was not a big budget movie so don't try to over analyze it. Sure there are things that could be better but overall I think they did a good job. I would recommend seeing it again and just enjoy it. It is a great love story that allows you to remember the awkwardness and challenges of your first love.

For the audience that this film was obviously made for, it hit the target dead on. I am sure that every female on the planet between the ages of 14 and 45 loved it. The vampire that is conflicted with human emotion and morals, who would be the knight in shining armour is depicted well. And the cinematography captured the mood of the novel very well. That being said, I am more of a purist where the undead are concerned and was disappointed by the film. No fangs, limited blood, very limited blood lust, no feeling of being in the presence of a predator.
Will be interesting to see how the werewolf genre is handled when they truly bring Jacob into the foreground.

I went with a diverse group of individuals-- some obsessed fans of the book saga, some completely uninterested in the books or the movie. Really everyone came out of the theater with the same thoughts-- IT WAS AWESOME! The casting was done remarkably well, and of course Edward was as dreamy as depicted in the book. For non readers-- it had every gripping emotion in the film to keep you entertained: romance, comedy, action, and fear. Job well done in my opinion!! Will wait patiently for the next movie!

I have to admit as the mother of a teenage girl I was a little skeptical that this was just another teen love story. But it was amazing. The best part was the fact that they kept the language appropriate and, without undercutting the story, kept the violince to a minimum. If my husband and son hadn't been waiting for us we would have gone right back in and watched it again.

The book was better, but that is to be expected. The movie totally followed the book. I liked most of the actors, but some not so much. I heard that some of these actors, the important/main ones, didn't even read the book. It would help a great deal if they did or do with the following books. I loved Bella, Alice and thought the 'bad' vampires did great. The high school scenes were good. I thought Edward was good, but could improve if they do more movies.

ive seen it twice already and plan to see it at least 3 more times if you read the books as i have dont go in expecting the book cause a lot of scenes arnt in it but there are really good ones added it gives you another insight into thier lives thats y the second time was so much better! It is fun seeing a book I have read and enjoyed played out on the silver screen (I have two teen daughters). I think that those that have not read the book would not understand and follow many of the nuances that occur, especially at the beginning of the movie. If you HAVE read it, you'll appreciate it -- it is fun to watch. However, there is still too much book to put into two hours, but overall, it's entertaining. Good, not Great... but better than expected. Read the book so you understand it all :-).

The movie has a great cast. The cinnamtograhpy was excellent. The movie was very enjoyable. I have read all the books and the film did capture the essence of the first book. I wish it was longer! It was action packed and humorous at parts. I liked the added touch of sarcaism and humor, it helped make it light and realistic. The actors looked great and did a fantastic job protraying their characters; I know they had big shoes to fill from the book. I wish we could have seen Edward and Bella's relationship grow more. I also missed my favorite scene from the book - the Biology class where they find out their blood type. :o)

ffirst of all, i've read all of the books (multiple times), and i completely love them. that being said, i went into this movie with extremely high expectations. i was so focused on what parts were different from the book that i came out disappointed. my boyfriend kept insisting that it was actually really good. "look, the movie has to be able to stand alone, separate from the book. everything can't be exactly the same, because the movie would be way too long. they did a really good job of condensing the story and keeping the most important elements intact." so, keeping in mind what he had said, i went and saw the movie a second time and absolutely loved it. so, please, go into the movie with open mind--you won't regret it.

I was really excited to see this movie on Friday when it came out. There were no disappointments at all. This was a great movie and I can't wait to see the next one. overall i thought the movie was great! robert pattinson is so sexy and hot it's hard to pay attention to anything else in the scene! the soundtrack rocks and i would recommend that to everyone! i did find a few scenes to be laughable and silly b/c of facial expressions plus i don't think they could have put more lipstick on rob's lips! fyi for next movie, rob, wax your chest, edward is like smooth marble! i can't wait to see it again! i think i'll love it even more the second time. oh, and i loved that stephenie was sitting at the counter in the cafe!

Having read all four books, it put a lot of pressure on the first movie adaptation. The movie did not disappoint but don't go expecting to see the book brought to life. For those who haven't read the books, the movie will probably seem shallow as if you're missing something. For those who have read the books, the movie is more a collection of scenes with a few familiar lines thrown in. Entertaining for what it is. I look forward to the sequels.

Wonderful scenery, but the special effects were extremely lackluster. Storyline would be difficult to truly follow without having read the book.
The storyline leaves much of the background information not explained. Much of the great interaction between Bella and Edward in the book is missing as is most of Jacob's storyline.
The action scenes were poorly shot particularly the baseball game and the final climatic, supposedly, fight between Edward and James.
I enjoyed the movie because I knew the story. I don't think it stands alone very well for those unfamiliar with the book. Hopefully an Extended Cut DVD will be more appealing, but I did see the movie twice this opening weekend.

I knew I would love the movie even before I saw it.
The main characters all nailed their parts. There were scenes and montages that were sweepingly gorgeous and Hardwicke truly captured the essense of the book.
My favorite things:
Charlie
Jacob - can't wait to see more of him in NM!
The humans
The Baseball scene
The imagery from the owl wings behind Edward in the biology scenes
The vampire dream Bella has
The kiss!!!!
The line spoken by Carlisle, "Remember Who You Are".
Go see it, but first read the book so that you can appreciate all the hidden meanings scattered throughout and the characters more.

Not only did the movie not do the book justice at all, I felt that someone that would go to the movie without reading the book first would find the movie so weird and cheesy that they would refuse to read the book afterwards.
The acting was extremely poor and not true to the book's protrayal of the characters. The direction was a bit off with the camera angles going every which way and at time moving enough to make the audience dizzy. Also quite a few intense scenes were marked with loud music in the background that was enough to distract. Some of the scences where our Edward was supposed to be charming and dazzling to our Bella, he appeared so awkard that the audience would laugh.

I saw Twilight twice this weekend and really liked it. Of course the movie was not as good as the book but what movie ever is? I am sure they were hamstrung by budget and time constraints - packing 500 pages into 2 hours is ambitious. But seeing my favorite scenes and lines from the book brought to life was great. I'll buy the DVD as soon as it is out and wait in eager anticipation for better sequels for the other books. Rob Pattinson did a a great job as Edward, I was worried with that cast pick but he pulls it off brilliantly despite some awkward moments which seem like director error. First kiss scene was HOT as was he. WARNING If you haven't read the book the movie will seem awkward to you.
