If you read the books, you won't be horribly disappointed by the movie. It does get a little cheesy at times, and I really hope that it's not an accurate reflection of current high school life.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movie was cute, but not worth theater pricing. I suggest waiting until you can watch it on the cheap.
