I went into the movie hoping for the best and I left more excited than when I went it. It was everything that I hoped for and more. Though there were a few parts of the book that I hoped would have been included in the movie, I wasn't disapointed (and hopefully they might show up on the DVD as deleted scenes.. LOL..). Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were amazing as Bella and Edward, even though Robert's portrayal of Edward in the beginning was a little melodramatic. And Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz and Nikki Reed were spot on as Alice, Jasper, Emmett and Rosalie. I recommend that every Twilight fan go see this movie.

First let me say that I love the books. I was excited to see the movie but quickly dissapointed. In the books Edward comes across as mysterious & dangerous. In the movie he came across as socially challenged. He was odd and he looked constipated all the time, all the actors did. People laughed alot during scenes that weren't meant to be funny. It got better toward the end but I wouldn't see it again. The special effects were really bad. The budget wasn't huge so that could be why. I think it will make enough money to produce the other movies, so maybe they will have a bigger budget to work with next go around.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

I loved the movie however i think they left out some key points from the book. Like how Carlise became a vampire and what Alice had to do with James.Even with that i loved it

With all that the studio had to condense, they did a fairly good job. If I see it again and not think about the book while I am watching, it may be easier to enjoy the film. I got a bit bored in the middle.
And, I wish they had been given a bigger special effects budget.

Just like the books, the movie was scrumptous! Great casting....the way to hook teenage girls=lots of hot boys! Acting was so-so, a little too many brooding looks going on, but perfect for the intended audience, and the story line is so captivating you don't notice anyway.

So many times before I have been disappointed when an awesome book gets turned into a movie. I went to see this movie convinced I would be once again disappointed. Well I wasn't! This movie was so awesome and it stuck to the book as much as a movie can. This was so fantastic I saw it twice the opening weekend. If you like the book you WILL NOT be disappointed in the movie!!!!!

As a 36 year-old who fell in love with the Twilight series, the movie was for me, a must-see. I loved the casting, and thought that the screen play was pretty good, despite the diminished detail compared with the novel. Chemistry was great! The not-so-special effects were a bit of a disappointment, but not enough for me to say it was a lousy movie. I WILL buy the dvd, and will likely go to the theater to see again, before it's all said and done.

I never expect the film version of any book to be as good as the book, and this was no exception. I did like that, for the most part, the movie stayed true to the book. I also liked the cinematography. What I didn't like was the acting, or lack thereof. I especially did not care for the actress playing Bella at all. I wanted to really see her feelings for Edward, but I don't even remember seeing her smile once. She was trying so hard to be brooding and/or intense that when it came time for her to say to herself that she was unconditionally in love with Edward, I didn't believe it. I enjoyed the books, so I will most likely see whatever movies they make, but I won't love them!

This is one these films I go to expecting to really like, and turns out to be somewhat of a letdown. I had wondered if the book could be successfully screenplayed, and it fell a bit short of the mark. Some effects of film were fascinating, such as the flying, the baseball game, and the battle scene. (good old ILM...you can't beat 'em with a lightsaber) The first kiss scene sizzled quite admirably. Fortunately ,these scenes somewhat rescue the film. Unfortunately, there a kind of hollow feel to some of the performances, and the uneven, compressed storyline strains credibility, particularly how rapidly the two leads move to "together forever" mode.
Even so, I'm into vampires, and would likely recommend the film to any vampire lovers.

if u have read the book already then you will be comparing it to the movie. its not the same as the moovie but a great movie. the first time you see it then youll just be pointing out wats wrong with it but after that you can enjoy the movie. so see it a second time or third the movie just gets better and better the more you see it

The characters in the movie were great picks. They did a great job bringing out the book. I, like a couple of other reviews, kept comparing the book to the movie instead of just enjoying the story. I will go see it again, and try to just enjoy the movie.

It was a great movie. A little different from the book but still very well scripted. Actors couldn't have been picked any better. I enjoyed the book so much i was concerned how they were going to do the movie and what would they cut out. The movie was GREAT!!! I knew it wouldn't completely follow the book, but it stuck as close as it could and was EXCELLENT! I am almost 30, but while watching the movie i felt like a teenager again, wanting to scream "I love Edward!" :) In all, a great movie, perfect choice of actors and my only compaint is it was too short!

Excellent movie! My 12-year-old read the first book and is half-way through the second. My 10-year-old came too, and did start fidgeting through "all the talking," but what a great show. Really great action and effects scenes. Stayed very true to the book. We are looking forward to the next one.
