It was alright for what it was

With all that the studio had to condense, they did a fairly good job. If I see it again and not think about the book while I am watching, it may be easier to enjoy the film. I got a bit bored in the middle.
And, I wish they had been given a bigger special effects budget.

Yes, I recommend this movie.
