This movie was pretty good, but having read the books first, I felt the story and relationship between Edward and Bella was rushed. I am sure that is due to time constraints. The book is so long that some scenes had to be shortened or cut out altogether. So while the movie was good, I would recommend that everyone read the book first to get the full effect of the story and depth of the relationships in the story.

I recommend reading the book before you see the movie.... the movie didn't do the best job of reflecting the quirkiness, fun, and intensity of Edward and Bella's relationship. If you see the movie first, I think you wouldn't really run to read the book.
Also.... this a low-budget film. The action sequences are nothing like what you might be used to with Batman or SpiderMan movies. :) So it makes some parts a little cheesy.
But overall, if you enjoyed the book, you have to see the movie, even just out of curiosity to see how they portrayed such an intense love affair.

I loved the books and i thought the movie was amazing! Even though they changed a few things it still was a great movie. The whole cast was perfect! Exactly how i imagined them when reading the book. Bella and Edward were phenomanal!!

Very disappointed. Over-acted and under-acted, with little in between. I laughed through most of it at the absurdity of it all. Poorly acted, bad directing. Maybe with a different director and a bigger budget, it could have been as fantastic as the book. There was little time for character development. People only love the movie because they love the books.

Not was I was expeciting all. Really enjoyed the movie, but I thought it was going to be scary. It was more of a romantic lovestory with Vampires. I didn't read the series, and think everyone would enjoy this movie regardless if they had.

I really enjoyed reading the book series. I was very excited to go see the movie and was not disappointed. My daughter and I loved it, but my 15 year old son hated it. To those of you looking for a scary vampire movie, this is definitely NOT it. It is a romantic love story with a vampire twist.

Did not disappoint me! Usually the books are better than the movie but this was a close one! Only thing different I would do is make the movie longer. I would have liked to see a little more of Jacob and Bella in there that was in the book, just to show the c loseness they had. Overall, excellent movie and YES I will be watching it again. Can't wait until they come out with the second one.

As someone who has read the series, i felt as though the movie did reach my expectations. I love the series and the movie did not come close to what i thought it would be. True, it is not fair to compare the books to a movie because it is almost impossible to match the book. However, much of the movie seemed rushed, as though they were not taking the time to capture the essence of the book. The action and the actors were great, but what killed the movie is the lack of devlopement in the story. It was made for the hard core twilght fans like myself, but it would be difficult to understand if the series had not been previously read. The movie did not give me the same emotions as the book & that is the whole point of it becoming a movie.

I thought the movie was an epic love story between Bella and Edward. It was beautifully shown. The only thing lacking is that the story moved to fast for any other characters to develop. I am looking forward to New Moon and can't wait to see what they do with Breaking Dawn.

I loved the movie! I am a sappy romantic and this was just perfect for me. I really wish the movie was longer. I've heard they are making the next movie... my requests are that the movie is at least an hour longer, and they MUST keep all the original actors!! Great work by all!

This movie far surpassed my expectations. As a fan of the series I was nervous about the movie the previews did not show the movie in the best light. The movie is perfect for it's target audience. The movie is meant for the same young adult audience the book is meant for, if you expect a movie meant for the target audience it is a very good movie. I think that the changes made to the plot for the most part we acceptable and enhanced the movie. Only a few changes made little sense, those changes did not harm the overall plot or ruin the context of the book. Overall I was very happy with the movie and I am excited to see what they do with sequels.

The movie is a clean, scary, seductive, Vampire- Love-Suspense Story that will suck you in and leave you breathlessly wanting more.
On most parts the movie follows the story line if you read the book twilight you wont have a hard time understanding the movie. Seeing the characters and the story line come to life on the movie screen. WoW! It's great me and my daughter will try to go see it at the movie theater again.
I feel overall it is a movie that is worth seeing.

I loved all four books, but this movie just didn't cut it. The casting was great - all the characters matched the book perfectly!! But the movie didn't flow well, there were choppy parts, and if I had seen the movie first, I don't think I would have read the book. It was still entertaining, but mostly because I'd read the book. If you haven't read the book, read it first - you'll enjoy the movie much more.

The movie was just OK for me, it was entertaining. The story in the movie was extremly rushed. You really weren't able to feel and understand the relationship between Edward and Bella. Parts of the book they put in the movie, they could have left out; they left out other things in the movie from the book I believe they should have put in the film. Again, I was enteretained but very disappointed on how they put the book on film. I hope the next movie (coming out 2010) will be a lot better.

Saw the movie on Friday night with my daughter. she read the books, so her excitement and expectations were higher than mine. I plan to start reading the 1st book this week. I absolutely loved it! It's the most romantic, action-packed movie I've seen in a long time...whew...can't get Edward out of my head! hahahahaha! If only he were real??

Honestly, Twilight was better than I expected. The actors' performances were convincing and exciting. I felt that every effort was made to hold true to the spirit of the story, while still creating a coherent film. There were surprises and certainly things that I viewed differently when reading the book, but I think that is part of the beauty of imagination and interpretation between the two mediums. As an adult fan of Twilight, I especially thought that the tension and almost awkwardness of Bella and Edward throughout the film is much closer to how teenagers interact when there is attraction than they probably realize, so it is fun to watch.

I will not only go back and see it again, I would have paid twice as much to see it and would have loved it to be 3 hours long! The two hours went by way too fast! I hav read all the books 3 times each and starting on the 4th time. You never get the full book effect but they sure did a great job capturing the important scenes!

I loved the book Twilight, and couldn't wait to see the movie. I liked some of the choices of actors/actresses like Bella and Alice. I did not like the person they chose for Edward, but figured to give him a chance. The move was not bad, except for the action scenes. The "vampires" never once changed from human looking to anything else. They didnt scare me or shock me in the least little bit. I would have thought they would have spent a little more on special effects. Well....maybe the next one.

The movie was very good, but I felt as it rushed through it and didnt give enough detail about Edward and Bellas love story. I was a little didappointed. There were a couple of cheesy scenes, but overall it was a good movie. The book is WAYYYY better though!!! Im hoping that New Moon is a lot better in showing the details of the movie! O and Edward is sooooo sexy in this movie; they couldn't have picked a better actor..LOL!!! I highly recommend that you read the book before seeing the movie; it would make the movie seem more real. I think you would get lost if you didn't read, because of the expressions the actors/actresses give.

I thought the movie was very good. I understand how hard it must of been to put so much information into two hours. I have seen the movie twice and plan on seeing again. I thought Robert Pattinson did an excellant job. Everyone I have spoken to who has seen the movie loved it. People need to stop comparing it to other vampire movies because that is not what this is about. We are all looking forward to New Moon very much.

Overall I was disappointed with this movie. I knew the budget was limited, the special effects didn't bother me, the cheesy lines didn't bother me, what bothered me most was Kristen Stewarts stuttering and spitting out the lines. It didn't sound like Bella was conflicted, it sounded like Kristen couldn't remember her lines. Also some of the faces Robert makes to seem "tortured" just looked like a spasm. As a serious fan of Twilight I will probably see the movie again, and I will also be seeing New Moon when it comes out but I do hope they make some tweeks.
