Overall, an awesome movie, but there was a few questionable scenes. There was also stage obstructions like when it was raining, she didn't get wet. However, setting those errors aside, I loved the movie. It was funny and made me feel all lovy dovy inside. The fight scene wasn't that good.... nothing but special affects, absolutly nothing... but I'm willing to let that slide and recomend it to everyone.

The first book in the Twilight Series deals solely on the beginning of Bella and Edward's relationship.I felt like the movie did a great job in capturing what the first book was about. The casting and the acting was great. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson WERE Bella and Edward. The Cullen's were fantastic, Charlie was amazing. Billy and Jacob, they all were how I imagined them. When it comes down to comparing the book and the movie, you should always do this lightly, the movie is NEVER going to be THE BOOK. It is just an adaptation after all. They put all the best moments in the movie and they were all done very well.

I loved this movie... I read all the books and although I thought the romance was rushed a bit I thought it did justice to the book and Edward was so hot my face almost melted off!

With production values that contend with Discovery Channel dramatizations and a cast that collectively botches every line of the film thanks to directing that seems to be given by a student filmmaker, I refuse to believe that this is the same Catherine Hardwicke who also directed THIRTEEN and LORDS OF DOGTOWN. And give me four weeks and I will churn out a better spec scripts for TWILIGHT, NEW MOON, ECLIPSE and BREAKING DAWN than screenwriter Rosenberg who I wouldn't have trusted with this material anyway seeing as she's only written one other film, and to its defense I have yet to see it, but that's STEP UP. Being a fan of the books, I have no love for this film which doesn't know it's undistinguished tone from it's shotty editing.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Well for starters i LOVED the characters!! BUT i felt they left out important parts of the book and over did prom WHICH was supose to be a surprise for Bella and i was looking forward to seeing Rosaline at prom her being the MOST beautiful...The baseball scene was KICK A@#..i know they couldn't have made it verbadum of the book BUT think about Titanic it was what 3 hours long and it still holds one of the top spots i would DEFINATLY pay money to see it again REMADE but whatever i am TOTALLY siked about new moon but am not setting myself up for disapointment....
LAST THOUGHT- i wish it could have been more like the AWESOME book that held me captive....

the books were the most amazing things in the world and the movie just didnt live up to it. i still liked it tho. but they left out a bunch of stuff andput stuff out of order. but of course you would never no this if didnt read the book,so the movie will seem better to you if you havent read it(edwards couch should have been black not white)

The movie lacked a few key scenes from the book (biology blood testing), and sped throught the romantic, chemisrty building experiences that Bella and Edward shared (the meadow), but overall brought the book to a new life and kept you interested the entire time. Additional scenes also hint toward the second book/ soon to be movie. If you liked the book you'll love the movie, and not just because Rob Pattinson is a sexy beast! The action, romance and mystery will keep any person entertained. I am a Twilight series fanatic and loved the movie I highly recomend it and can't wait for the rest of the books to be made into movies!

The books brought out so much more, as they always do. It just didn't translate into the movie well. It seemed slow and ackward, and left so much out that was good from the book. I went with someone who hadn't yet read the book and he enjoyed it. However for those of us who have read the books, it was a let down. Of all the characters "pictured" in the book, Jacob & James were the closest to what I imagined.

Very disappointed in the movie. The books are FANTASTIC! First off, Edward in the book is "beautiful", this guy is not. His acting also leaves something to be desired. I found him boring and kind of weird. The book Edward doesn't strike me as weird or boring. There were too many scenes that were unnecessarily changed from the book and too many important details left out of the movie. I found myself laughing at the movie, not because it was really funny but because it was ridiculous. Sad that it wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be.

I have been waiting to see this since I heard about it in June. Although they changed some fo the details (what movie doesn't divert from the story) it captured the true essence of the book. The cast was a great ensemble and I can't wait for New Moon and the Twilight DVD. The only negative thing I can say is that it lacked some dialog. Other than that, I highly recommend that you see it. I've already convinced 2 skeptics to go, with a friend.

Having read all the books before I went to the movie I was a bit dissappointed. There is just no way to capture the intensity of their love for each other on a screen. It also felt like it skipped aroudn a lot. There are so many things that go on inside Bella's head that you don't get in the film.
Finally, I was not super impressed by the acting. It was kind of choppy and it irritated me.
It was an alright movie, but you need to take it with a grain of salt and realize that of course the books will always be better. Not saying it was horrible, but it was not what I expected and I thought they could have done some things differently to improve it.

As a Twilight reader, I really enjoyed the movie. They did a good job at, as I like to say; "scrunching" all of the important information from the book into movie mode. The acting from Pattinson and Stewart was on tap and the casting of the other characters was better than most movies based on literature.

Took my 11 year old. Both of us have never read the book (but will now). Good movie. A little bit intense in some scenes (vampire movie - what do you expect). Good love story.

There is no doubt teens will love this movie. It hits all the highs and lows of the tortured teen life, just like the book. The problem for me is that the movie tries very hard to capture the almost hypnotic flow of the book but sadly falls short, which makes the first half of the movie boring. I was also disappointed because the leads seemed quite out of place sometimes, almost unsure of themselves. But I see that as poor directing since I know they are good actors from other movies.
If you have kids take them, they will like it. If you don't, don't waste your money.

I loved it...it was cute and action filled and an overall good movie. The actress did shiver allot when she spoke...but it makes sense she was in WA during winter, it just distracted me a little. And there was some unanswered questions, so i recommend you read the book to. This is a great movie, be sure to watch it.

This is the most AMAZING movie i have ever seen !!! There is NO dought that i am going to see the movie more than once in the theaters!! This is by all means the BEST movie of the year!! It is everything and MORE!! In my opinion I think that Edward should turn Bella into a vampire so they could be together FOREVER!! There is also the bonus of her being able to protect herself in the future if Edward was not around, although i do luv it when he comes in and fights for her which i think is sooooo SEXY!! But i have to say i do like the idea of a vampire in luv with a human, its just soooo romantic!!

I just got turned on to this series of books 5 days ago and I've already read all the books since then!! Totally addicting! I HAD to see the movie! I made my husband come with me tonight and he actually liked it! I thought it was wonderful and they did a really great job adapting the book. Of course, it wasn't JUST like the book...what movie is? I just know that I can't stop smiling about this movie! Great cast! Great love story!! I can see why so many fans are obsessed! I AM TOO!

Wow - where do I start - I think disappointment describes it best.
The casting was horrible, they should be fired. Edward is not dazzling, Rosalie was not beautiful, Jasper looked weird, Carlisle was not handsome and Jacob was not tall enough. And lets not even mention the acting -
I loved the twilight series and the books flowed perfectly, but the movie stepped to far away and was sloppy and rushed. I know it is 2 hours, but they left out too many important facts that will be needed later. Yes most of the classic lines were said, but at the wrong times or with created scene. Furthermore, i think the thing that upset me the most was not one I love you between Bella and Edward - NOT ONE!!!!!!
Wait for the DVD.

I am 61 yrs old, and have always been fascinated by the vampire legends. When Twilight came out, I grabbed my 13 yr old grandaughter. This is an outstanding movie. Now I'll read the book. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen!

While I did enjoy this movie and love the saga, although it seemed to me like the director was trying a little too hard to tap into the 'artsy' vibe. It strays from the book but not badly - I am, however, concerned about how far the sequal 'New Moon' will stray. Not to spoil the story for anyone who hasn't read it yet - but Edward doesn't show up nearly as much in the second book. The story instead focusses on Jacob and I'm somewhat concerned that the 'New Moon' adaptaion will change that drastically to appease Edward fan girls. But that's another concern for another time.

I thought this was an excellent movie. It could do with better directing on more than a few parts, but it was overall very entertaining. They did a lot of great things with the very small filming budget they had. I say kudos! If you haven't read the books yet, see the movie first. Everyone i talked to enjoyed the movie much more if they had nothing to compare it to right off the bat. I personally have read the entire series 10+ times and love everything about it and the movie! :-)

The special effects were surprisingly awful- when Edward jumped, he looked like a flying squirrel. Too many close-ups and swooping camera shots. Terrible script. Over the top background music.
Kristen Stewart's version of Bella was surprisingly one-dimensional. Also the crossed eyes when Edward saves her was over-acting at its finest. I thought Robert Pattinson was going to be terrible, but he was actually quite good- in spite of his lines.
Bottom line: This treatment is lackluster at best. Hopefully the next film will look more professional, and less like a white makeup-ed teen show on the CW that has inexplicable shown up in theaters. If you are not a fan of the books, you should probably spend your money on something else.

When I watched the movie, I was a little disappointed. I felt that the overall emphasis was on Edward's thirst and putting a distance between them- not on the fact that he loves her so much that he denies his nature. That is what makes the book so addictive. The reader knows that- no matter what they go through- Edward and Bella's love is unshakable. I did not get that feeling from Twilight. However, the casting was spot on!
