loved the books, underwhelmed by movie

The special effects were surprisingly awful- when Edward jumped, he looked like a flying squirrel. Too many close-ups and swooping camera shots. Terrible script. Over the top background music.
Kristen Stewart's version of Bella was surprisingly one-dimensional. Also the crossed eyes when Edward saves her was over-acting at its finest. I thought Robert Pattinson was going to be terrible, but he was actually quite good- in spite of his lines.
Bottom line: This treatment is lackluster at best. Hopefully the next film will look more professional, and less like a white makeup-ed teen show on the CW that has inexplicable shown up in theaters. If you are not a fan of the books, you should probably spend your money on something else.
