The books brought out so much more, as they always do. It just didn't translate into the movie well. It seemed slow and ackward, and left so much out that was good from the book. I went with someone who hadn't yet read the book and he enjoyed it. However for those of us who have read the books, it was a let down. Of all the characters "pictured" in the book, Jacob & James were the closest to what I imagined.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
