This movie was excellent. I appreciate the suspence and the mystery of the previews. Seven pounds is nothing like what you expect, it is a very warm, loving, meaningful, and heartbreaking movie all in one. Will Smith and the cast did an awesome job keeping me intrigued in the movie.

Sincerity and heart is what! It starts of slow and midway through any reasonable person can figure out the plot of this film. With that said it is a prototypical Will Smith piece, filled with all the personality and emotion that keeps his fans coming back for more. The widely anticipated ending more than makes up for what seems to be a never ending buildup. In short. one would have to be pretty overcritical to walk away from this film without shedding at the least one tear.

This movie is the absolute best movie I've seen, ever. It is a real tear jerker. I never cry in public and I've seen this movie twice and I cried my eyes out both times. Will Smith is by far one of the best actors there is. The ending is absolutely amazing. This movie is a must see.

This isn't like some of Will Smith's other material where thinking is not involved. My wife and I were intending to see something else and we knew nothing about the movie. If you just want to be entertained, pick another movie. Smith delivers a powerful, emotional performance that gives a glimpse into the soul of the character. I think Rosario Dawson was well cast and believable.
There was just enough comedy relief that it didn't feel morose. I had a pretty good feel for where the movie was going in the first 15 minutes, and if you pay attention you will gleam subtle clues that make the movie feel better connected.
I'd normally give it 4 stars, but will give it 5 to counter the people who obviously didn't even try to get it.

Sacrifice. The movie sacrificed depth and true structure for emotional emphasis. The movie has many flaws, but the message is decent. Paying for your wrongs in the most giving way you can. It was a bit depressing, but it is meant to be like that. A person who loses everything they have, at their own hands, would want to make things right. It doesn't hold up well to scrutiny, but it was an entertaining concept. Worth a rent.

This movie did not deserve the hype it received prior to it being released. It was boring and desperately seeking an emotional connection with the audience. At one point my boyfriend and I were going to walk out but figured we'd stay after already enduring 30 minutes of nothing. We stayed glued to our seats waiting for something exciting and/or interesting to happen. There were others in the theatre who chose not to sit and wait for the outcome after only 15 minutes. The amount of people leaving this movie was the most I've seen since watching Natural Born Killers mannny years ago. At any rate, I would not recommend this movie to anyone! They dragged out a movie that would have been better off as a 1/2 hour television series.

ok seriously people the title is not very hard to figure out. To the best of my ability I think the title means pounds of flesh..you know retribution, Merchant of Venice like, and the seven means the number of pounds of flesh. He accidently killed seven people therefore must give seven things (aka pounds of his flesh) in retribution. See the movie and it might make better sense. I really liked this movie, while sad, it does reach you. Will Smith makes his character come alive. Just make sure you're not in a depressed mood when you go see it.

This movie was and "E" ticket ride. I did not know if Ben was a good guy or a bad guy! I had no idea what his plan was until the very end. Overwrought and overcalculated. I whispered to my husband 1/2 way through, "I cannot express how much I am detesting this movie". He felt it was the male version of a bodice ripper but with the theme of sacrificing oneself for one's loved ones; the same primal male urge that motivates guys to sign up for military service. As such, he sort of enjoyed it. To answer another reviewer's question: SEVEN POUNDS of flesh.

This movie is badly put together and incredibly boring and difficult to sit through. It tries so hard to be emotional and deep and it's really just dark and disturbing. The attempt to make you cry is so blatant, but there is really nothing moving in this story at all. We've all heard this story before--person in an accident who wants to redeem himself. But this one is just creepy. Will Smith did some good acting, but not enough to carry the movie through.

This movie is excellent!! It is the best movie I have seen in a while. I almost passed on it due to some of the critics reviews. As usual they didn't have a clue. The story is awesome, and there are certainly messages throughout that make you think. It does require you to pay attention, but the mystery kept me glued to the screen as I tried to unravel what was happening. Will did an excellent job, he was very much into his character. It is not a light hearted movie, but if you are looking for movie that has substance and will leave you contemplative this movie delivers.

I do not recommend this movie unless you want to pay to become depressed, because that's how I felt all thru the movie & I left the theater feeling depressed after this horrid tale. The movie really as soooooo depressing, & the story was confusing. But Will Smith did a good job in his role, as always. The whole overall tone of the movie is just dark & depressing, there's nothing else to say. I hated it. And by the way what the heck does Seven Pounds mean? Where does that come from? Weird. This was a excellent movie. It was a little hard to follow in the begining but later on in the movie it gets easier to get. Will Smith did a wonderful job in this movie. I would recommend this movie to a friend.

It's the type of Movie you discuss on the way home. I love movies that 'Don't" go out of thier way to point out the obvious. I watched the movie with a person that 'text messages' while driving. The moral of the movie to me was 'your cell phone should be left alone while driving'. I get so tired of seeing people reading or texting while driving.

Horrible. I was confused the entire movie until finally I figured out some stuff at the end. I just dont understand why he chose these particular seven people to help and why he would not talk to his brother. I am very emotional and did not cry once.. Save your money horrible movie!

I really don't think this was one of his best movies. Even though he had helped a couple of people, it was disturbing to me. It might give other people the same idea to kill themselves for others. Their soul will suffer in the long run.

This has Adult life and death issues about how we end our lives and pay back a debt that can not be paid. Not for the sensitive at heart. Will Smith, Rosario Dawson, and the whole cast are outstanding in every way.
