It was a solid and action packed movie, although, sometimes, the stunts were a little too much. And even though it wasn't supposed to coincide with the first X-men, it did a good job not to steer away from the main plot points.
Loved the characters that they introduced, especially Gambit. The Blob was also pretty funny.

I saw this movie last nite. I confess to being a comic nerd, also an X-men fan. The movie was memorable. I even woke up with scenes from the movie in my head. I never expect the movie to follow the comic completely. I only wish there was more teaser following the movie. I can't wait for Wolverine part 2.

Decent SFX, story fit pretty well with what I vaguely remember from the comics I read as a kid, and an interesting way to address Wolverine's memory loss. All in all, a fun ride for the money.

This is one of the worst super-hero fliks ever, really on the level of Captain America. The dialogue, the direction, the story were insulting, as if they didn't even try. A pastiche of the most tired cliches, unintentionally laughable throughout the movie.
Some of the action, particularly Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber's was pretty good, but not enough to make this watchable. We had to leave about 20 minutes before the end because my son wasn't feel ing well, and neither of us regretted it a bit.
Waste of money, insult to intelligence..

Great Movie! Stayed critically close to comic book version, while keeping a movie feel. Should impress original comic book fans and non-comic book fans alike. Explained much about Wolverine & others, without saying, "this is why this character is like this.." & without getting away from theme and plot. Introduced characters in a fashion that allows future branching of the Marvel movie brand. Great start for the summer movie season!

I'm a big marvel/x-men fan. I just wished the movie had a little more character development. Because the movie covers a time span of almost a century, the movie seemed extremely choppy, from one point in history to the next. Some of the CG effects in my opinion were not up to what I call "comic book movie" standards (ie. iron man, x-men movies), looking somewhat cheesy at best. Overall though I thought the movie was decent, thanks to Hugh Jackman playing a great wolverine.

Hugh Jackman was great was Wolverine, as usual, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well Liev Schreber brough a new version of Sabertooth to life, excellent portrayal. There were a lot of moments of funny, sarcastic dialogue that had me and the rest of the audience laughing. I could have done without the love story though, fell a bit flat for me.
They missed the mark on Gambit though. The actor was fine, but so much Gambit's distinctive personality was muted that he was almost unrecognizable to those who have been waiting for him for the last 3 X-men movies.
But overall definitely worth seeing in the theater and/or buying the DVD. Great fight scene, funny dialogue, pretty good CGI. Really enjoyed it!

We saw Crank the other night and wondered, "What's wrong with this picture?" Simple-no story. It was self-serving, nothing for us to care about. Wolverine could have been the same - yet it was not only action packed, with creative fight and flight sequences (none too long, none gratuitous), but it also had a story . Too many films are so enthralled with their own gimmicks lately they forget that nothing will capture the audience’s attention without a story- compelling from first frame to last, excellent performances. Of course, Hugh Jackman is always charismatic and exciting to watch, but the casting of Liev Schreiber was brilliant - he was the perfect Sabretooth. Wolverine is a wonderful prequel to the X-Men trilogy.

I love the X-Men series, but while this explained his past, it wasn't very entertaining. The script was not well written, and there weren't any comic comments that help balance the film. Gambit is a great new character though! And how come he grows from child through adult, then stays that age through several wars?

For comic book fans, a lot of the main plot was very true to the Wolverine Origin story. Sabretooth and Logan grew up together, became brothers and developed a great enmity between them due to Victor's bloodlust.
They fudge a few things, like instead of being in Alpha Flight, he teams up with William Stryker and his mutant-hunting team, but all in all as a comic loyalist I was willing to overlook obvious departures from the comic lore.
Only thing that bugged me was the trailer: it showed a lot of mutants in the commercial, so you get the sense that you'll be seeing a lot of Gambit, Emma Frost and a few others. They're barely in it: this is a strictly Wolverine/Sabretooth movie.

This movie was simply mediocre. This was nothing more than a money making re tread. The action was fine but not great, at points the CG looked almost unfinished. The story line seemed to have a bunch of random stuff thrown in to make it to the 90 min mark, but ultimatly had no punch or real drama. I also didn't like the super human abilities of some mutants beyond their actual power. Some were just thrown in for fans i guess, as they had little impact on story, which was unfocused. Also, was it just my imagination, or does Hugh Jackman's accent slip from time to time? Probably not worth $10 to see in the theatre, but if you just want a mindless action movie, this will give it to you.

Xmen Origins: Wolverine is a fairly standard comic book style movie with plenty of slightly corny jokes and a ton of action. The up side is getting to see Wolverine and Sabertooth glide through time without aging, all the while getting pummeled and healing back. Good stuff. The downside is that the whole movie is one big fight between these two characters. Its also fairly annoying that a lot of actors change from the previous 3 movies. Stryker doesn't even have a southern accent in this movie.

I have to admit I was a bit worried about X-men Origins: Wolverine after my utter disappointment with X-Men: The Last Stand. Wolverine Redeems a series that was headed for destruction. The characters are for the most part well rounded and believable. The action sequences and special effects are well done and well placed in the story. The only thing that keeps Wolverine from perfection is some heavy handed dialogue and one Awkward scene toward the end of the film. Be sure to stay through the end of the credits for a nice easter egg.

I would not recommend this movie to anyone. I found the dialog to be lame, the action was very minimal, and the storyline was so cheesy. I would not spend the money to see it in the theater, just wait for the DVD release if you really want to see it.

I absolutely enjoyed every second of this movie!!! It had action, drama, humor and just enough violence to get the story going. I initially didn't want to see this but am glad my husband convinced me to go and the opening scene convinced me to stay! Hugh Jackman fans will not be disappointed!

It had the potential to be a great franchise, but the people involved chose to gloss over the backstory and send us directly into the middle of wolverine's life. He went from a sickly kid to a killing machine in 30 seconds. The love story turned very cliche, and it seemed as if the writers were too interested in introducing other X-men to the plot. Dance with the fella who brought ya, Don't be so concerned about everyone else.

I'm a 29 year old guy and I went to see this with my 25 year old brother. I loved this movie. I watch movies to get away from reality for awhile plus like most guys I'm a wolverine fan, that dude is sick! Jackman is jacked for sure. It was cool seeing the character's history. No I don't read comic books, thats why I didn't know the history. If you just want some sic entertainment, go check it out.
