High energy, a bit bloody for my personal tastes but it was well balanced against the love story sub-plot. Seemed a bit choppy at times, as if there should have been more regarding certain sections of the storyline that were cut to keep the movie within a certain time frame. Can't wait to see if there is extensive addtional scenes in the director's cut upon DVD release. Definitely one for the big screen.

Good movie. Good fun. My daughter and I enjoyed it. I liked the way the years between his father and Stryker were covered. I also liked the progression in the way Victor moved.

If you are looking for some comic book style action with characters that are larger than life, this is a good one to see. However, don't go to the theater expecting to see the comic book Wolverine: Origins brought to the screen. This is a film about a character named "Wolverine" who is loosely based on a comic book character of the same name. Their origin stories contain some similarities, including some characters with the same name as comic book characters, but that's about it... I enjoyed it and so did my friends, but we all entered the theater knowing what to expect...

Overall the movie has some interesting storylines, but none of them were developed as much as could have been. For example, the relationship between Jackman and Schreiber could have been explored with much greater richness especially since Scheiber is such a formidable character actor. The CGI seemed overdone and many of the fight scenes looked repetitive and redundant as is usually the case when there's so much emphasis on CGI. The story also differs significantly from the comics, which was rather disappointing. None of the female characters were really fleshed out with any substance. Nonetheless, an entertaining thrill ride. While I didn't sit at the edge of my seat, I was also not bored with the story. Hugh Jackman is as sexy as EVER!

This movie did not deserve the beat down it got from most critics. It was a good, popcorn-summer movie. It's no classic, and yes I wish the writers would've done more character development, but it by no means warranted the lashing it got from people. Also, we saw WAYYYY too much in the trailer and TV spots. But stilla a good movie. I give it a B-.

yea.... they could have done more with this movie, but.. i loved this movie through and through. if they are smart about it, they will do kind of a prequel trilogy to the first 3 movies. so they can incorporate much more, and other characters as well from the comic books. Hugh Jackman did a wonderful job as well as the rest of the cast!

Meh. Not bad, not great either. It seemed at times that they just took a bunch of shots of Hugh Jackman flexing in different locals and then built scenes around him. They forgot to make the story compelling.
Why was Gambit there? If you are going to have a cool character like Gambit, take the time to do it right, not just a bit part and location mover.

It was a solid comic-book based action flick. It told the back-story of Wolverine, held decently accurate on the details, but that was about it. It had some cool fight scenes and some funny moments, but it was not the best comic-book movie to have come out so far. They could have done more, both in the story-telling and in the production because of the richness of the source material and characters involved.

CGI claws were a bad choice, but I didn't think it was overly distracting.
Jackman, Schreiber, (and even though his part was infinitesimal, Reynolds) carried this one for the most part. Danny Huston was average at best as Stryker, and Taylor Kitsch didn't really sound like Gambit, but Gambit is still really cool.
I must respectfully disagree with a previous reviewer; I thought they nailed Wolverine's emotion perfectly, especially in the scene (in the trailer) where he's battling Stryker's men in the Humvees and the helicopter. I thought the intense, animalistic rage came through very well in that scene.
Making a movie about Wolverine was a risky venture because of his fanatic following, but I think they did quite well.

I was disappointed in this 3rd forray into the Xmen saga. I thought this try lacked a bit in the cointinuity department and many of the characters introduced in this film needed a little more developement. I left the theater wishing that more dots had been connected.

I left this movie saying that phrase. It answered lots of questions and had AWESOME action, but as a story...so what. The best part of the movie to me was Ryan Reynolds, especially as Deadpool. Charles Xavier started his school with five pupils not that group he rescued at the end. Though my physics is a little rusty but if adamantium hits adamantium it would not go through his skull but smash into his skull without penetration, like iron bullets against an Iron target. Therefore no penetration of his skull could ever happen (mistake in X-2). Also the quasi-Highlander stunt of beheading your foe, again how could you sever the spinal cord if it too is surrounded by Adamantium. Cool movie but scientifically STUPID.

I liked the movie. Nothing overly exciting. You get to see how Wolverine came about and some of the other mutants that he works with later. It had great action but it wasn't an action movie.
Too many characters for the movie since it really is WOLERINE'S ORIGIN. I thought Liev was great, but I am little biasis...

I loved this movie it was action pack and answered questions that we non comic readers may have had. Hugh Jackman was gorgeous as always so it gave us ladies some really nice eye candy to indulge in through out the movie. A must see for all X-Men fans.

This was a really fun movie. I took my whole family and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Liev Shreiber was excellent as Wolverine's brother, Sabertooth. I would have liked to have seen a reference to Wolverine and Captain America fighting in war together, but I like the direction they took. I'm ready for another one!!

Terrible CGI. Doesn't hit the nail on the head with emotion - especially that of revenge which has made every second Wolverine appears on the previous X-Men films the most intriguing part of their two hours.

Better than what a lot of the critics are saying, but not one of the best comic book movies ever. Although, I think the bar has been set higher recently by Ironman and Dark Knight, so expectations were very high for this film.
Bottom line...If you don't expect the Citizen Kane of Comic movies you'll probably have a good time at the movies....and not want to poke your own eyes out with your car keys when its over.

There are several things wrong with this movie. Lets start with the Logan...how many times can he give the same pose with an explosion in the back ground. Are you kidding me with the exploding helicopter. Next is gambit, he is creole from the south but no accent. Striker and his team can't find him but Logan can in 1 day. The bullets won't kill logan but somehow Striker knows that they will erase his memory and the way he says it is just stupid. The word sabertooth is never mentioned (though the actor did a great job). The CGI work at the very end with Xavier was horrible. Over all the mvie was a let down and if the people I saw the moviewith and I could get our money back we would.

So, from watching the trailers i didn't really expect much and watching the movie, my low expectations where met. They have had 3 xmen movies all of which included wolverines metal claws and then they make a movie that revolves primarily on his character and they skip out on a metal claw budget. The result being the worst claws in the series. Just straight up amateur. Its unfortunate, i did want to enjoy the movie but the more i think back, the more i hate it. Story is linear and flat, characters are just thrown in the movie like obstacles in a racing game. Luke warm start to what looks like a blockbuster saturated summer.

This movie was so good. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, and was completely unpredictable! Many surprising twists. But definitely not for children. I was appalled to see a child no more than 4 sitting next to me with his parents, terrified the entire time.

Wolverine was an awsome addition to the X-Men series. Almost didn't fit into the original X-Men movies, as this one had more substance.
The first 25 minutes are crucial, as in relevant and awsome to watch. Sabretooth from this movie, blows the original one he was in away. He deffinately had character and substance, whereas in the previous X-Men, he was a brainless oaf.
There were some characters in this one that didn't necissarily have to be in it, as well as didn't make sense with the time line, however, it's forgiveable with how we get a real feel for Logan and his past.
Watch it, you'll like it, if not love it.
