I loved this movie and would see it again and will buy the DVD when it comes out to add to my Indiana Jones Collection. This movie brings back many fond memories from the 80's. It is a winner. Lucas has done it again and Harrison Ford does not disappoint. Older is better.

The quality of IDJ4 is consistent with that of today's films: Not boring though forgettable. ....You're going to see it anyway, and this is what you'll leave the theater saying: "Well, it was fun, I guess. I'll keep going to see these movies because it's about as good as today's movies get. No choice do I have." I saw the movie last night and I've already forgotten what it was about. It was fine, but who cares.

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is everything we have come to expect from an Indy movie. It has plenty of thrills, chills, humor, intense action and an intriguiging story line.
I prefer not to divulge the story line. IMO, it's always best to experience a film first hand with out any preconceived notions or knowledge of the outcome.
I will say that this: its awesome to see Harrison back in his most famous role as the best action hero of all time, Karen Allen and Shia LaBeouf complement him extremely well and the ark of the covenant makes an appearance!
Spielberg and Lucas invented the summer time blockbuster, nobody does it better, and that is reason enough to go see this film.

For all you Indiana Jones fans out there and some who just enjoy a good movie. This movie is a must see. Yes you may be reading other peoples review who spoil the plot for you but do not be discourage from this amazing movie. From the story line to the actors, to the sets which by the way look identical to the old movies, makes it seem like Indy never left. I love how they paid homage to the characters that were either not with us anymore or is currently in retirement from acting and respectfully declined they could have just replaced them or wrote them out entirely but they choose a very taseful solution. Spielberg and Lucas really knew what there fans want and gave them exactly that a feeling that had been gone for 20 years and as soon as you sat in your seat you felt like you were home again. the action sequence were amazing and I will admit one was bit too cheesy but it made up for it. I will also admit the whole crystal skulls was a bit out of the ordinary but as our last reviewer probably did not relieze was this movie is set in the time of the 1950s when cold war and roswell were all the rage it does fit and suggest if you have the time before seeing the movie do a little research on the crystal skulls that way you will expect the unexpected and not total trash a really good movie. I will agree with one thing nothing can top raiders and last crusade but it was close.

I saw this last night and while I didn't think the movie was as good as Last Crusade, it wass still definitely enjoyable. There were some parts that were a little goofy/hokey, but those added to the appeal for me. I've always loved Indiana Jones' movies, and to be honest it would take a LOT for me not to enjoy this one! Don't go expecting a major action film, there was a little more focus on the archaeological aspects. But I definitely recommend it.

The action was great. The plot was a little hard to believe but so was the Temple of Doom. But what saddened me the most was Indiana. His charisma is gone. That little boy in him that made him so different from other action heroes has been replaced by gruffiness. I realize that he is 65 years old but that is the problem with the movie. This movie should have been made 10 years ago. But the egos of Lucas, Spielberg and of Ford caused so much bickering between them that they could not agree to anything and when they did( probably out of desperation of Ford's age) it was too late. Karen Allen was too old and it Indy barely wanted to kiss her in the end. Obviously, they were trying to hand the reins to Shia LaBeouf to be the next Indy but it won't work.
So go see the movie just to be entertained and see the wonderful scenery. But if you are looking for that charming, handsome, funny Jones then you will be dissappointed.

My family and I couldn't wait to see the new Indy movie, so of course, we went openning day. I really enjoyed the usual action plus the humor. The storyline didn't seem to follow the movies in the past, but I thought it was refreshing. I also loved the ending! I hope to see another with Henry Jones III playing the key character.

There I sat in the theater at age 30, but once Harrison Ford put that famous hat on his head I was 16!
From start to finish the film is a great adventure. Involving homages to the fifties, (Better Dead then Red on a banner,) the Indiana Jones series itself, (They breifly show the Lost Ark,) and yes George Lucas (the hot rod in the opening.)
What I found interesting was the departure of the blood and gun play. Something people would expect in an Indy film! The story was excellent as was the acting.
To sum up: Looking for a good advanture for 2 hours? Go see this movie!

As a general rule, it was "good" to see another installment of the classic Indy.
HOWEVER, what a pity River Phoenix cashed in and couldn't pull off a gigantically better job at a young Indy instead of resorting to the hackneyed "gee I didn't know I had a son" routine with the likes of Shia LeBeouf.
Father Time took a baseball bat to Karen Allen and it turned into a sad Brady Bunch TV reunion.
CGI can be a film-makers friend. Indy 4 apparently missed the mark here and decided that "the more, the better" approach wouldn't be noticed. Wrong.
And then, there's the script - apparently purchased off of Craigslist for $3.
All that said, the nuke scene was very well done and nicely unexpected.
In general, save your cash for something else.

Indy may have lost a step or two, but not his swagger or his dry wit. Lots of tight escapes, creepy-crawlees, villians, and yes, snakes. The return of Indy's old flame, Marian, with her son, is tied to yet another hunt for mythical treasure, provides the basis of the story, but there is more of a human connection here as well, with old friendship, loves, and new bonds. Definitely worth seeing, especially if you're an Indy fan.

My son who is 5 has been on a huge Indiana Jones kick the last year (not sure why). He has the IJ Legos and all the movies, so we went for him. It was a cute movie. The plot was a little shaky and not as believable or historical as the last few. Cate Blanchett"s Accent in the beginning was really iritating because you could hear the brit slip out a few times. Having Marion back was a nice add on to tie it together.

What a lovely tie-up to the whole saga! Harrison Ford is Indy, period. And Cate Blanchett and Karen Allen rocked this movie! Shia LaBoeuf was interesting and consistent. John Hurt and Jim Broadbent were underused. The action was superb, the plot was typical of the genre with the added sci-fi touches that are such a specialty of Steven and George, and the nods to past movies were fabulous. For me, though, the real star was Karen Allen. She did everything right.

If you've been waiting 19 years for the new Indiana Jones movie like I have, you've probably got some high expectations. Despite my Indy "fanboy" status, I kept those expectations grounded. However, this film is still a gigantic disappointment on many levels.
CGI abuse (thanks to Lucas), silly juvenile humor a la Star Wars prequels, and lack of good material to work with leaves this Indy flick with barely anything to redeem itself with.

If you were a fan of previous installments of this series, then you will enjoy Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I've read several reviews commenting how corny some of the lines were, and how 'out there' the ending was. True, some of Jones' lines were less than witty, and the ending was.... weird. However, if you think about the other movies in the series, it falls in line pretty well. ( Jones drinking the blood and being controlled in the temple of doom, supernatural forces melting the third reich in Raiders of the Lost Ark, or the grail with supernatural powers in Last Crusade) All I'm trying to say is that being a little absurd is what makes Indiana Jones what it is.

I wanted to absolutely love this movie, but overall, it was just okay for me. The movie definitely shines in spots, and Harrison Ford does a great job as usual, but for every part that reaches greatness, another part falls flat. The first few minutes made me wonder if I was actually watching an Indiana Jones movie and had me scratching my head. The CG effects looked completely phoned-in and were not convincing - I mean come on, Indiana Jones is back - could we get some better effects?! The last few scenes were bizarre to me, and seemed a bit out of place for the franchise, but I suppose they could grow on me in time. I would say, see this movie once, but don't expect the greatness of the originals - you'll very likely be disappointed.

We love the Indiana Jones series and were so excited to see this film. Although it did keep in character with the other films, I was a little disappointed with several items. The biggest being that all of the other movies went to exotic, beautiful places to film and most of the filming was done there, not on a set. It was very obvious that most of the filming for this movie was done on a stage and there was alot of computer help. It made it very unreal and fake to me. I was also very disappointed by the monkey scene with Shia. How stupid!
So for me, I only give this film a 3 of 5. I really wish they would have kept it true to the other films and stayed off of stage sets!!

My review is based purely on entertainment value. Indiana Jones and the Kindom of the Crystal Skulls was exciting, romantic, fun and funny! It was all that the old Indiana Jones movies were, and exactly what I had hoped/expected. I can't believe how great Harrison Ford was (and looked!!!), and I adored Shia LeBeouf. Was the movie a masterpiece? No - but neither were the first three - they were made to entertain - to have fun. I loved it, as I loved the first three when they came out. It had a decent plot, lots and lots of action, and all the fun and humor you would have come to expect in the Indian Jones series'. Go see it, enjoy it for what it is - a fun film!

The effects were great, and the action kept right on going, but somehow I just thought it was "empty." My wife and I left the theatre saying, "Ok, whatever." Not a disappointment, because there was lots of action and I like Harrison Ford; it was good to Marian again and Shia LaBoeuf is the star of the next generation of actors. Not as good as the first two Indys, better than the third (what film wouldn't be?); but, ultimately, nothing special.

It's hard to discuss this movie without giving away any of the great surprises. If you have to compare it to one of the original movies, it feels most like Raiders of the Lost Ark. The story was completely different than anything we've seen in this series before. The action scenes were great and it really felt like an old school Spielberg flick. While the movie didn't have the spot on slap sticky type humor that Last Crusade had, it hit the right notes at just the right time. I don't know how this will play to the younger crowd, but the people who grew up on this stuff will love it. Do yourself a favor, and treat this movie like how we used to see movies before the internet. Don't read any reviews, don't read any interviews, just go the see the movie.

After reading all of the mixed reviews I didn't know what to expect...I was very pleasantly surprised. It took a couple of minutes to adjust to an older Indy, but before long it was like no time had passed at all. People have complained about Blanchette's accent, the sci-fi nature of the film, the cheesy quips for laughter and the lack of chemistry between the cast. I saw none of that. Indy films have always been somewhat of a caricature of the time periods and of what an archaeologists life is like. And boxes melting peoples faces off or a cup that gives everlasting life are no less far-fetched than aliens. I loved seeing Indy interact with Mutt--and I believe that if they are preparing Shia for the next generation of Indy movies they have certainly set a good foundation. It's not The Last Crusade good...but it is good!

I woke this morning after seeing the latest Indiana Jones movie and all I could think about was when Sean Connery took that ill advised late turn as Bond in never say never again.
The movie was good, the formula was in place and Steve and George pushed all the buttons. Anyone who didn't see the plot line comming a mile away however needs to get their glasses fixed. It was predictable, silly adventure fun but isn't that the point?
My 5 year old daughter was scared a little bit by some of the fight scenes and watching a now older Harrison ford take body shots as his own stunt double left me cringing a bit but in empathy this time sincerely.
Overall I think anyone who knows the series will go and enjoy it. Does it have a message? No. Does it solve a riddle No? Does it make you forget about the world for awhile and provide you with good escapisim entertainment Yes, and I think we can all agree with gas at 4.00 thats not a bad thing...

The plot was a far stretch to being back Indy to the big screen. CGI was not the best and the dialog was labored. I enjoyed the first half of the movie much more than the second half. Overall a fairly big disappointment in the Indiana Jones saga.

Although not as good as the original, the latest in the Indiana Jones chronicles is still good fun. With plenty of adventure and nearly non-stop action all are sure to enjoy the romp. Harrison Ford reprises his role with a wink to the past and delivers a solid preformance. It was great to have Karen Black back in the role of Marian - the chemistry between the characters is still there along with the verbal sparring.
Worth a full price ticket.

This movie has some great action, pretty good plot, decent acting but it is not the caliber movie i was hoping for. I think they went a little overboard with the nostalgia. Harrison ford is great but not in this Indiana jones. Spielburg did a bad job in portraying this older Indi. You will see what i mean when you watch the movie. The cinematography was a little cheap. Not enough close ups. its the editors fault too because the timing felt rushed. everything felt rushed. Everything felt like it was done too fast, too clean and you don't get to enjoy Indiana Jones for who he is. I think George Lucas needs to watch the Young Indiana Jones again to get a feel for this saga again. Sets were amazing and the special effects where great but there was no love put into this movie I felt.

It good to see Indiana Jones back, but this movie was waaaay too over the top. This film was the exact oppisite as to what the old movies were. In the previous movies, the story lines, as well as stunts(atomic bomb??? come on) were about 75% believable. This movie was about 10% believable! Also, I selected 2 stars because 1 1/2 was not an option! I guess I will just keep telling myself that the franchise only includes 3 movies!!
