My wife and I really enjoyed this film. It used an older style of movie making that computer graphic special effects have made almost obsolete in action/adventure films today. If you are looking for an Indiana Jones filleld with today's special effects/bells and whisltles you will be disapointed. But if you enjoy a great story and fun adventure they way they used to do it 20 years ago you are in for real treat!!

This is the movie that I was most looking forward to this summer. I snuck out of work to watch it in fact (don't tell anyone). Overall, it was a GREAT RIDE! Great to see Harrison Ford up to his usual tricks. Great to see Karen Allen back as Marion. The new characters/cast fit in perfectly in the Indy Jones "world". Cate Blanchett, mesmerizing as always. Shia LeBeaouf - this kid gets better every film I see him, great chemistry with Ford. There were some hokey parts - especially when it came to the storyline. But a GREAT RIDE, nonetheless. GO SEE IT! Go see it NOW!

OK, anyone who knows me will tell you that Raiders of the lost Ark is my MOST Favorite movie of all time. So coming from a Serious Indiana Jones Fan.......I thought this movie was very good. Was it as good as I had hoped....well, no. The Alien thing I have to say disappointed me. I didn't like having Cate Blanchett in it. Although she did a wonderful job, I don't like any other well-known (non-Indy) actors in the movie. I didn't mind Shia being in it, b/c he may very well continue the legacy, AND he didn't "take-over" the movie. I LOVED that Harrison Ford was still the MAIN guy and did his "thing". The "battle" scenes were pretty out there, and they should have died or been much more brutally injured then they were, but that aside, I still enjoyed it and cheered. I loved the surprise "guest" and the ending was nice for us Indy fans! I would give it a B. As for it's place in my top 4 Indy Movies...It ranks third. Raiders #1, Temple #2, Crystal Skull #3, and Last Crusade#4.

I went in to this movie not really knowing too much about it. I didn't want to see the previews and I didn't want to know much about it because knowing it was an Indiana Jones flick was enough for me. Maybe if I had known more I wouldn't have come away from it as perplexed as I did.
It did make me laugh. It did make me go "OMG!" and it also had the "ick" factor in a scene that was (to me) a bit too long. Other than that...
I loved the face Indi made when he saw his long-time-ago love. He looked like a school boy with a school-boy crush all over again. I'm sure that's what they were going for and if so, great job!!
Some of the lines were too predictable and even a couple of the scenes were a bit too telling about what was going to happen.
It did entertain me, but the idea (I don't want to give out any [more] spoilers) and the direction the story line took just made me laugh and ended up leaving me with a let down feeling. It was a bit too cheesy for me.

I went in with huge expectations. I don't think this movie is as good as Raiders or Holy Grail, but it's definitely better than Temple of Doom. I would have liked a bit more puzzle solving like in the other movies - it seemed to be laid out a little too neatly. And the very ending scene, I didn't like that element. What followed was cool, and that was good. I need to see it again and judge it on it's own merits rather than the expectations.

Wow...what a piece of garbage. It had nothing in common with previous Indy films, other than the character's names. Avoid this if you can. The last third of the movie was so against everything Indy films are about that it will make you shake your head in disbelief. If you must watch wait until the DVD comes out and borrow it from somebody. Don't part with your cash to see this movie.

With Lucas and Speilberg you know its going to be a good movie. Its always great just to see what story they come up with and the wonderful action scenes and cinematography that they bring. Ford does look a little aged though and some of the movie is way to predictable, but still its a great show from some great people!

If you liked the other three Indiana Jones movies, chances are you will enjoy this one. The film has many of the characteristics of previous Indy films - plenty of action, plenty of adventure, and plenty of humor, all very similar to the previous films. The only gripe I have with the film is the way Spielberg/Lucas/the screenwriter decided to go with the plot - it doesn't feel as authentic and similar to the other three films in terms of historical accuracy - it seems like they made up the vast majority of the plot. I do know none of the other films were historically accurate, but they seemed to be based off of and ground in a more solid historical background whereas this one seems blatantly made up.

Doing a movie like this takes real skill to keep the series feel after such a long break between this and the other Jones Movies.
The simple board breaking punch noises and somewhat funny special effects had to of been done on purpose so viewers could relate and familurize themselves between this and the other series films before it.
Indiana Jones was always a playful action series that makes you say "oh ya, right" with a chuckle. Many people miss that point of this fun series.
This type of movie sparks the imagination of many kids and adults, while giving archeology and history a real fun and action packed sport light.
The excellent blend of action, comedy and a good story makes the film move along without many (if any) dull spots.
I look forward to seeing the next generation of young indie movies if they develop!

It was great to see Indiana Jones again!!! He certainly has aged well. We enjoyed the addtion of Mutt, but quickly grew very tired of Mack who hung on throughout the movie too long. The effects and chases were fun, however the story became very far fetched as time went on. Reguardless of the crazy plot, it was still a lot of fun and I know as a family we will see it over and over again when it comes out on DVD. The first three were definitely better.

Kept me awake, but not up to expected standards. Too many of the special effects, action scenes were too over-the-top. Instead of eliciting "Oh" and "Ah",.. my reaction (and I heard many others in the theater) laughing at the silliness or saying "oh, come on!" We expect Indy to be full throttle...and he was. The search-for-lost-treasure idea was a winner, as always. The humor in the very midst of hot action was great. I enjoyed the references to previous movies & bringing back Allen as romantic interest was good. Cate Blanchett & Harrison Ford were superb. But then we get treated to super knowledgable aliens??? I won't even comment on the two most ridiculous ideas of the movie: involving inspired swinging on vines and hordes of ants taking a man into their nest. But later in the same vine-thronged jungle no one can find a vine to use as a rope so they decide to use a giant snake. ??? I thought cartoons were supposed to be on Sat. morning!!

I attended the opening day evening showing of the latest Indiana Jones Adventure. I am a big fan of the first three films, counting Last Crusade among my favorite movies of all time! My husband and 10 year old attended with great anticipation. We all agreed that it was fun, entertaining and good. It won't compare well to Last Crusade, but on it's own merits, it is a good film. The only thing I would say I did not like was the addition of the "Mac" character. It seemed a confusing and unecessary character to the plot. On a positive note, I believe that the aging of Indy was perfectly scripted and handled brillantly. Overall, I was very happy to revisit a much loved character on a new adventure.

Are you really considering not seeing it? It was not the number one all time best movie ever, but it is a great film if you liked anything about the previous trilogy. Old characters, new characters, iconic "indie" moments, and just tons of summer movie fun. Don't waste this film by waiting for the dvd, just go.

Mr. Lucas began to ruin my childhood with the Star Wars prequels and finished the job with Crystal Skull. CGI gophers, monkeys and ants look cartoonish and just plain silly compared to the live snakes, bugs, and rats of the previous films. The death of the villain looks like something ou of The Mummy rather than Indiana Jones, as it relies COMPLETELY on computer animation. The special effects era of film making is now officially over. This simply did not have the feel of an Indiana Jones movie.

I can't remember the last time I had so much fun at the movies, and I go out to a lot of movies. They really pegged the old formula of balanced action and humor, never letting you take it seriously enough to be troubled by a hokey ending, which every Indy movie has. There's a little bit more sentimentality than previous Indy movies, but it is still well within bounds. All in all, it was exactly what I expected.

Keepers: great action, great audio, a few funny parts. The new guy (John Hurt?) is fabulous. I hope they stay with him.
Improvements: (really) predictable acting and lines; complicated storyline - hard to follow; nothing was very believeabe The old Indy movies had more reaism to them. "Marion" can't act.

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a perfect escapist action flick - you must banish thoughts of logic and suspend your disbelief to accept some of the action and plot twists. If you do you can give yourself over to a rollicking good time.
I especially like the return of Marian Ravenwood... and though Cate Blanchett plays an icy cold Communist villian, she is just not quite evil enough to me.
All in all, above average in the action department, acceptable in all other ways, and not an Oscar contender...... but who cares ? Indy's back !

the move was filled with action, never a dull moment great back story, in keeping with the originals, great for familys. great conclusion to the Quadrify,harrison is looking a little old. shouldn't have waited so long.

I have been a fan of the series and this chapter wraps up the Harrison Ford portion of the Indian Jones series. It definitely sets up for more. I recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the original. This chapter is not as good as the original but does follow the story well. Unfortunately, like all of us, Harrison Ford has aged and is ready to turn thie franchise over to the next Indiana Jones. Prepare for more to come.

It doesnt matter if this is your first film in the series or if you have been a fan for years, this movie will keep you on the edge of your seat and give you plenty to laugh about.
