It felt like I was watching a movie that was "trying" to be Indiana Jones. They used all of the same tricks, stunts and one-liners as all the other Indy movies. I'm a big Raider's fan but this movie was predictable and boring. I actually fell asleep during one of the high action sequences! It would have been way better if the story focused on Shia's character. They missed a lot of opportunities to do some fun clever stuff with Indy's son. Oh well, I guess they needed a reason for the Disney ride. A lot of little kids today are going to Disneyland asking their parents, "Mom, what's Indiana Jones?" So they had to do the movie... I guess.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

It wasn't as good as the other ones but still totally enjoyable! Great happy ending - love those! All the characters were great - Harrison Ford still has it & Shia LeBeouf is darling! Great to see Karen Allen back & Cate Blanchett is a great villan! Great entertainment!

I felt disappointed. It was almost like watching a rerun. You can't compare it to the classic Indy movies. Great action. Scenes were pedictable though.
Still it was good to see all the old character's in their roles. Shia did great!!
Something was definately missing.

Overall, this is a decent, fun film. However, it lacks any of the magic that the previous films possessed. This one looks like it was rushed with a very loose plot (very silly at times) and absolutely no realism, as this time it seems that Indy is invincible and nothing in the universe could ever harm him. It is still a decent action/adventure film but don't expect to revisit the magic and nostalgia of the previous classic films.

Hi,
I so totally recomend every real Indiana Jones fan to see this movie. It has the perfect balance of action, adventure, a bit of romance, and Sci-Fi. It also has a great cast of Oscar winners. Harrison Ford and Cate Blanchet. Cate plays the villian. Great role for her. Harrison as usual rocks as Indiana. In was also great to see his love interest from the 1st Indiana Jones. Another reason why I liked it is because it was filmed/takes place in various places all over the world. That's why I liked all the other Indiana Jones movies. It is also nice to see that Indiana has a son. All in all it was a very entertaining movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

It was worth the near 20 year wait to see this movie. The trailers do not do the movie justice. It was fun and exciting, everything you would expect from an Indiana Jones movie. Harrison Ford is still great in the role, and Shia LaBeouf makes a fun addition to the cast. The plot wasn't perfect, but that didn't matter. It was still a great movie.

There are a few things about Kingdom of the Crystal Skull that I have a little trouble forgiving, but for the most part I have to remind myself just how cheesy and fun the original films were. So, all-in-all, if you go in expecting a cinematic masterpiece you will be disappointed.
If you go in expecting another Indiana Jones movie, then you'll be pleased. It is exactly what it said it would be (with one scene being my notable exception and where my suspension of disbelief was completely shot). Even the character of Mutt is likable, and LaBeouf does a great job with what he's given.
It's not Oscar material, but Indy never was. It's fun, it's silly, there are chases and fights, and a happy ending. And that's all I want from my summer blockbusters.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

While certainly not the most mind blowing adventure yet, this movie is certainly a lot of fun. Harrison Ford is fantastic in his reprisal of his role as Indy. He does not pretent that he's the younger man he was in the previous installments and instead presents himself an older wiser Indy with a many reflections and a lot of knowledge to pass on. It's great to see that he still brings that unique comedic wit to the role that we all love. The stunts and action scenes are great. The story, which some might consider far-fetched, actually fits in line with the period in American history that the movie takes place in. Overall, while not the best of the series, the movie is certainly a lot of fun. If you're a fan, definitely see it!.

The only complaint (and it is a large one) I have is that Indy 4 seems to be more of a George Lucas movie (over-reliance on special effects, forced/shallow dialogue, etc.) than a true Spielberg film. The first three Indy flicks have a true balance between Steven's craft for film-making and George's stunts and effects. Both are great storytellers in their own right, but they need to weave their strengths together to find balance when collaborating.
I am, however, a huge fan of fun, silly, suspend your disbelief while parking your car movies, and this is one of them. Fun has always been the key word with Indiana Jones, and so it remains.

Great to see everyone again after all these years. If you're into nostalgia and had great memories of Indy, you'll be more than pleased with this move. As Lucas said this is a "B" movie done in the "A" style." That said, I give this movie a solid A.

It was a good movie. Raiders of The Lost Ark is still head and shoulders above all the Indy movies. But at least this movie didn't destroy anything that had been established in the previous 3 movies, which I can't say for the 4th Star Wars Movie (Phantom Menace) which pretty much destroyed what had been established in the previous movies. So all an all with his dismal record of his recent movies Lucas managed not to destroy this franchise. It's a good movie and worth seeing.

I have been a fan of Indiana Jones since Raiders of the Lost Ark and found Kingdom to be an excellent movie. I really liked the fact that they did not try to make Indy a young man and set the film 30 years later. That made the film more believable. I kept waiting for the Warren Oates line from "Stripes", " I'm gettin' to old for this s......". It was a great roller coaster of a film and would recommend it to everyone who is an Indy fan. It was also nice to have a fitting conclusion the the "What happened to Marion?" question.

The opening screen is straight out of the 1950's. Freedom loving kids out having a good time. Yes it is a bit unplausible to believe he would survive a small yield nuke blast in a refrigerator, but it makes it fun to see him roll out of it and then get the nuclear wash scrub down.
Good story, good characters, but how did Mutt know Indy was on a train? Shia handles himself well with the more accomplished actors. Kate is nearly unrecognizable as the evil Red Commie. Ford looks and plays the part of an older Indy very well. He's still got it! The movie plays well against 50's hysteria about the Commies and UFO's. This is a Genuine popcorn movie. Scfi FI mixes wth archeology quite well in this fun romp. I recommend it to everyone! Worth the wait to see an Indiana Jones movie with my young sons in a theater.

I thought the movie was over-all very good. The special effects were excellent and the action was pretty non-stop. However, I would have rather been on the edge of my seat with this movie and that is what I was really expecting. I think the sci-fi twist was a little too sci-fi for IJ, but I think it was put together well and it inter-weaved with the story well. I would like to see a spin off with IJ's son. It seemed to me that is where they were leading it at the end.

I loved this movie from start to finish. It hit all the typical "Indy" moments, had the great one-liners and moved very fast. I couldn't believe when it was over; it didn't feel like 2 hours had passed. I rank it equal to Temple of Doom, maybe slightly better, and that's what I hoped for going in. I didn't expect it to equal Raiders or Last Crusade. My only complaint would be the resolution of the main plot point was somewhat of a letdown. I would have liked that to have been fleshed out and explained better. I'm reading the novelization written by one of my favorite authors, James Rollins, so I'm sure more is explained in the book.
One thing I really enjoyed and noticed rather quickly is this is just a gorgeous looking film. The colors, scenery, and set design are all awesome. Don't miss this film on the big screen!

Everyone is entitled to thier own opinion. Some people love it and others didnt. YOU have to see it to make your own judgment!
I saw it on Thursday evening. The movie was action packed, they picked a great movie cast. And yes, I think that Indy still has it! Yes, he is now older, but guess what, it happens. People do age.
To me, he is still the same Indy that I grew up watching. He can still throw a punch, is great with a whip, still says his awesome one-liners, and is still scared to death of snakes! :)
Shia did a great job in this film. I was actually impressed with him. He is quick, funny, and did a really awesome job with fighting scenes. However, the only corny scene to me was when he started swinging through the vines like tarzan! LOL!
You are hearing and reading a lot of reviews, about aliens, and so on. Yes, the ending is far fetched, but then again, HELLO...its George Lucas.
But just like the other indy movies, its something that can go both ways or what you believe in. Whether you think the Arch exists or if you think Stones can give off powers, or if you think the Holy Grail is real. Its what you think.
Overall, I really liked the film. I saw it with my fiance and sister on Thursday, saw it with my mom on Friday, then went again on Saturday with my friends, and I will probably go again to take my dad on Monday
I like it more and more each time! By the way, the jungle-snake scene is great! Same Indy!
Go see it!

Just when you thought it couldn't be any better, Harrison Ford comes along and takes you on a ride that leaves you with such an exhillerating experience that you leave the theatre with a hugh smile on your face! Cudos to Mr. Spielberg and Mr. Lucas for an extraordinary film --- fun, exciting, humerous, touching but most of all entertaining and a great story line!!! I cannot tell you how much I appreciated the ending --- which tied loose ends and prepares you for yet another possible sequence similar to that of the Star Wars movies. And, yes Harrison Ford is as fantastic and sexy as he ever was. Like Sean Connery, age does not affect this actor. Overall --- a wonderful experience. Thanks to all involved!!!

Indiana Jones was a good movie. It was a little X-Files "ish" for a bit which was slightly out of character for the series. The long pause between the last movie and this one created a bit of "catching up" type of dialogue. Regardless of those things, It was an Indiana Jones movie and it was fun! Now that we are back in the groove of this series, what they need to do is make a sequel as soon as possible!

It's an okay movie. It starts out good, but as it goes on it gets cheesier and more ridiculous concerning the stunts and the storyline. There is plenty of action, which pretty much keeps your attention even though the plotline is a completely mangled mess and the whole "aliens" theme is just silly. I didn't start to become restless until about 20 minutes from the end. This movie isn't horrible, but it's certainly not great either. I'd probably wait for DVD if I had it to do over again.

overall worth seeing; but I think the movie that the built in audience would have liked to have seen was all the adventures Indy was describing about working with the OSS in WWII.
There's way too much science fiction interdimensional hoo-haw in this movie- and all justified by Lucas saying that unlike the 1930's serials; this one is based on the 1950's sci fi's. Uh ok. But this is IJ!!!!

I enjoyed this movie from beginning to end. I didn't go to the theatre with huge expectations, I just wanted to revisit the world of Indiana Jones and enjoy a simple, good vs. evil movie plot with lots of action, cool special effects, and a hint of mysticism in it. This movie gave me just that. I enjoyed the fact that they acknowledged the fact that Harrison Ford is aging. The action was fun, and the "mystical element" was satisfying. The special effects were absolutely fantastic. The only things I didn't enjoy were the fact that the villian wasn't bad enough, and Cate Blanchett's accent was not consistent. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who enjoys movies!

I'd like to see critics write something as good as Koepp's screenplay.
Did you read EW's review of this film? They gave it a B- and said, "The movie's legacy may simply be the melee that ensues when Spielberg cracks the whip and moviegoers scurry for tickets."
What a heartless criticism! Films like Raiders hallmarked the reason people like to go to the movies in the first place: clean, adventurous fun. The 90's were a decade devoid of telling good stories. They were a dark time filled with specks of light that made the movie business as shallow as the music business is today.
Indiana Jones is a hero who proves that the guys from the old school have the heart and the balls to do things the right way, of which today's youth are ignorant. Ford wouldn't have done the film if the story was a money-scheming shell.
Crystal Skull is an incredible encore to the illustrious career of Indiana Jones, and fills in the rest of the action we've always hoped to see from Harrison Ford.
This adventure is what we've been missing. It's finally here at the right time.

It was good to see Indy again, but this was this the weakest of the 4 movies. The script just wasn't that great as compared to Raiders or Last Crusade, and was even weaker than Temple of Doom. Despite knowing this, I still would go see Crystal Skull, as it is entertaining, but without a better script this series has lost it's edge - I just was never that worried about the fate of the characters during the whole movie.
