I enjoyed the movie, the stunts were pure Indy and the dialog, while corny in places, still captured the general feel of the franchise. The ending was a little far-fetched, but then every Indy film has a little of that (eternal life, the paranormal etc.)

Well, I'll start with the bad...The story line. It was a bit weak and seemed that it was rushed.
The good...Indy is back. For aging 20yrs, he still gets around well. It had lots of action scenes and a lot of Indy wit. This was a fun movie, and a good addition to the Indiana Jones chain
Yes, I recommend this movie.

My wife and went to see the latest Indy on a Friday afternoon. Obviously the critics reports have disuaded others from going to see the movie - there were only 20 people in the theatre.
We really enjoyed the movie - it kept us entertained and intrigued throughout. There are a few spots where you knew what would happen next but most movies have that somewhere. The ending is a little hokey but ties up the story with a bow. It also leaves openthe chances that "Junior" will follow in his father's and grandfather's footsteps!
Go see it - and take the kids - they'll love it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Counting myself among the legions of Indiana Jones fans, I found myself somewhat disappointed by the fourth installment. The special effects were great, and the chase scenes were especially nice, but they lacked - a human touch.
Lucas' over-the-top love of special effects is well-known (and lamented, by some) from the second 'Star Wars' trilogy. In SW1 and SW2 (I think he got it right in Revenge of the Sith), the personalities became secondary to the real show - special effects. I believe the same thing happened here in IJ4. What makes the Indiana Jones series REALLY special is that, in the search for the extraordinary object, we find out what is extraordinary in ourselves. There was none of that in this installment.
What we are left with is a plot that was too far-fetched, even for me, with a conclusion that has been covered by many other movies, most notably in 'Stargate', and covered better. Harrison Ford is a calmer, more mature Indy and it is a pleasure to see Karen Allen back with Dr. Jones. However, her role is too small to have any real impact, and Shia LeBoeuf - great in 'Transformers' - plays a stereotypical role with no fleshing out of his character.
The fantastic Cate Blanchett is wasted in what could have been an excellent role with a character that we really never understand; her true strengths are only hinted at during the beginning of the movie. And (spoiler alert!) 4 guards to cover all of Area 51? I know that Indiana Jones thrives on the fantastic, but this one was too much for me.
Catch it on cable and save your money.

I thought the movie was really good. Indiana Jones is older now, like many of us, but he still has what it takes to deliver a fun movie. Everyone needs to relax about comparisons to other movies. It was nice to see this old friend back.

Other than a very realistic re-creation of 1950's America (thru the use of antique auto's ect. ect.) , this film leaves much to be desired. Ford's acting seems strained and uninspired. The story line is so far fetched that it is unbelievable even in a fantasy movie.Example- they fall over not one, but THREE waterfalls and nobody so much as even sprains an ankle. In one scene Indiana breaks the nose of his ex-partner and the next day there is not even a slight mark on the guys face. Find yourself a good DVD to rent instead of wasting money on tickets for this poor excuse for an otherwise good series of Lucas Films.

This was not a typical Indiana Jones movie. I was a little disappointed in the storyline and the special effects. They did a lot of spoofs on other movies, which is ok, if it would have been for a different movie. The ending however did leave it open for possible another one to come. I would not recommond anyone to spend money on a full ticket for this. Wait till it comes out at REDBOX for $1.00 night movie.

I had expected more. A lot of action, but lacks the excitment of previous IJ films. Almost slapstick at points. Perhaps we're reached the end of the string of successes. Perhaps we might see more of Jack Ryan in the future and less of Indiana Jones.

Poor poor Indy - 65 years old and still trying to keep up with the youngin's. They've had almost 20 years since the last Jones flick and this was the best storyline they could come up with? Puh-leez.
As a die-hard Indiana Jones fan, I was super excited to see this movie. Unfortunately, it fell flat in many cases with predictable characters, been-done story lines and recycled jokes. In its defense, there are some great special effects and a few really good scenes. But these were not enough to save it from mediocrity.
Keep your money and see it on pay-per-view from the comfort of your couch.

An enjoyable thrill ride of a movie. Even 20 years after #3, Harrison Ford still can pull off an action hero. Bringing back Karen Allen as Marion Ravenwood was a great move. She still has the most chemistry with Harrison Ford of any of the love interests from #2 and #3. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen.

A disappointment. I was expecting the fast moving constant action packed movies of the past, however was disappointed with this one. Poorly written, awkward, and badly edited, this movie disappointed my husband and me. Harrison Ford seemed to be sleepwalking through the script, and his costars (except for the hilarious Karen Allen) appeared lost and floundering for a characterization. Even the astonishing Cate Blanchett was lukewarm as the villainness. Very disappointing.

Overall, I enjoyed this movie. I love Harrison Ford and felt the overall theme was similar to his other IJ movies. However, I thought the story line was a little silly and far fetched when it came to the aliens and didn't really do him justice. I think they could have written a better story to go along with the real crystal skulls legend and it would have made a much better movie. It was, however, fun to seen Indy "all grown up".

Too bad Indy went out with a whimper. Cockamamie plot, snooze-worthy acting, special effects that have seen better days, lighting that should have been cranked up a notch or two in color saturation... too bad, so sad.

A worthy and respectful sequel that does its predecessors proud but can still stand on its own. Some suspension of disbelief is required, but, HEY, IT'S AN INDY FLICK!! It also does not try to dumb down the characters, but makes them acknowledge the time and distance that has passed between this and the previous installments. A fun ride that does not have the "ick" factor of the previous sequels, especially "Temple of Doom." Go and enjoy it!

If you're looking for an exceptionally good movie that lives up to the Indiana Jones movies that came before, you're going to be disappointed.
If you're just looking for a fun way to pass a couple of hours and would like to reminisce about the George Lucas & Steven Spielberg movies you've loved in the past, this movie will be perfect for you!
The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a bit more science-fictionesque than the previous Indiana Jones movies. Normally I'm a fan of sci-fi but the extra elements were a little overwhelming for this particular movie. And how many movies will we see this summer where even the best ability to suspend disbelief won't cover the fact that our hero should have died at least 5 times by the end of the film?
The violence isn't excessive - that is to say, there is a lot of it but most of the fatal blows are obstructed from view.
Ultimately, this movie is not life-changing but it is a good way to spend an evening.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Overall, this was entertaining...My 11-year old has seen the Indy Trilogy from my DVD Collection but this was his first in the theatre. Enjoyed watching HIM enjoy the movie. Granted, the stunts were far-fetched and the plot went a little overboard (almost like a fantasy-like plot). However, the Indy 'charm' was still there and watching Harrison Ford after all these years was very, very entertaining. He did a fantastic, entertaining job as he's done before. In summary, if you go to this movie with an open-mind and have seen the other Indy movies, I'd say you'll enjoy it.
