I'm usually the first to catch a flick for 5 bucks at the El-Cheapo B Theater on a Tuesday afternoon, but this time I opted for a $12 Imax 3D ticket and am glad I did. Stunning picture clarity one notch above anything else I've ever seen in 3D. The Dragon looked real. I'm not even a big fan of the Harry Potter movies, but this one gets a thumbs up.
I had heard so many bad things about this movie, that I was pleasantly surprised to find it both enjoyable and interesting, It was almost like watching a romantic comedy that had the comedy element replaced with sci-fi.
Good special effects that look like they were taken directly out of "District 9," but the story line and acting are extremely cheesy, unoriginal, and reek of made for television/direct to video/skip the theater release. I'm one of those movie goer's that'll like a movie just for good special effects, and I didn't hate this movie because of that, but this is really just a two star movie.
Definitely a very good movie that swallows you up in the lawlessness of the 1800's. The cinematography/production transports you back into another time and place. To see this movie is to avoid disappointment.
