A cute movie for my little ones (eight, six and four). We enjoyed it and there were some cute lines. Unfortunately for the adults, all the funny lines were used in the trailers so there was nothing unexpected.
I am not a big fan of movies with this theme. These "social misfits" are excluded and shunned until their differences make them useful to the rest of society and then they are released and welcomed with open arms.

Lots of funny Lines. Tied in some of the close encounters, and other experiences of our 1st encounter with aliens. It was cute and the kids loved it. Mine were 7,8,13. The Kids will enjoy it and as an adult you won't feel like you just lost 2 hrs of your life.

I went with my husband and two kids, 6 and 4. Fantastic characters, voiced by great actors. Great animation and clever plot. It was a bit scary and violent for my 4 year old. She often asked to hold my hand and would cover her eyes, so I would shoot for 5 and over on this one. She loved it nonetheless!

My two daughters (ages 7 and 4) and I went with a group of people to see the movie. We had kids with us ranging in age from 12 to 4 and all of them loved it. There were a few parts where my 4 year old got a little frightened but mostly she laughed throughout the movie. My girlfriends and I laughed throughout most of the movie as well. We will definitely be buying it when it comes out on DVD!

Cute movie, not enough character development, not enough plot. You know it's not that great when your daughter only wants to talk about the movie preview "Up" after the movie. I think they tried to win on the 3D effects, not in all movie theaters.

My 3 year old daughter dragged my wife out of the theater about half way through. The jokes and action were too far apart, and the story line could have been better developed to provide more humor. Many funny concepts were danced around, and never tapped. The animation was okay, I wasn't blown away by comparison to most modern CG animation. It certainly had it's good moments, but it was no "Incredibles" or "Monsters Inc." Those probably still rank highest for me in terms of story, humor, animation, and overall execution. Peace.

Was Monsters vs. Aliens written by the guys I went to college with? Because there are references to things that no 12 year old is going to know. And that's what so great about the movie! I enjoyed it based on my experiences (i.e Attack of the 50 foot Woman, Dr Stragnelove) and my daughter could enjoy it on hers (i.e. E.T., Close Encounters). It is a great thing for father (Monster) and daughter (Alien) to spent time together laughing. There just aren't nearly enough of those experiences in life.

My 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter went with me to see this. It was great. The opening was a little slow for them (they expected to see action instantly based on the previews) but it unfolded nicely once I explained it to them. Excellent animation with fun, lovable characters (at least the good guys) and a "bad" guy alien who was easy to "boo" without being too scary made for great fun.

My husband and I took our 6 yo son yesterday. It was a really good movie. A bit slow in parts but we all enjoyed it. Happy to see that the girl was the "superhero" this time. The monster characters were a lot of fun and kept our son's attention to the end. I would recommend this to our friends who have boys or girls.

My kids and their friends thought the movie was "good", but I was disappointed in the lack of humor. Every so often something funny happened, but I expected a more light-hearted movie. Also, we expected to see it in 3-D, but didn't find out until we got to the theater that it wasn't being shown in 3-D there.

this movie was one of the best animated films I've seen in a while, however some of the best scenes in the movie were already displayed in the many TV ads. Although with a great cast including; Seth Rogen, Reese Witherspoon, Will Arnett, Paul Rudd and Stephen Colbert, the movie has some great unexpected moments.

I'm not a big cartoon person but there are a few cartoon movies that I'll watch. I went to see this w/my whole family and that includes 6 kids ranging from 3-9. We all LOVED this movie!! I loved this movie! (If someone says their 2 or 3 year old lost interest it's most likely because young children have a very short attention span.) I know everyone has different tastes for movies but I have to say it takes alot for me to laugh out loud at any movie and I did many times watching Monsters vs Aliens. It was definately worth the $ spent on the ticket and popcorn! LOVED IT!!! Can you tell?

we went to the theater as a family on a rainy day. enjoyed the film. however, my precious daughter who is two (which she has gone to a few shows in the theater in the last few months) was done and wanted to run around 2/3 through the movie (when the popcorn was gone), however the end of the movie is exciting and loud enough that she & i were not a distraction playing in the back of the theater (so i still got to see how it ended). i'd see a matinee if i were you...maybe not worth the cost of taking the whole fam out for a "night" at the theater.

Movie was funny, not too overdone. My 8 yr old really enjoyed it, but my 6 yr old seemed to get easily distracted about 2/3 of the way thru. Nice way to spend time with the family.

I fall asleep at some of the movies being put out for kids these days. The writers are brilliant. The humor works equally well for adults and children. References to old horror flix and well timed punch lines keeps adults very entertained. Thanks for a great movie. No naps here.

No a bad kid movie, but not nearly as poignant as Monsters Inc. Some funny characters (esp. Susan and "Bob"), but the president & Derek came across as super-annoying. The plot seemed to jump around, with many irrelevant scenes. It seems that with the graphics being so much easier to create than in the past, the writers don't spend too much time in story development. One note - sensitive young kids may find parts of it a little scary.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
