I Laughed More than my Kid

Was Monsters vs. Aliens written by the guys I went to college with? Because there are references to things that no 12 year old is going to know. And that's what so great about the movie! I enjoyed it based on my experiences (i.e Attack of the 50 foot Woman, Dr Stragnelove) and my daughter could enjoy it on hers (i.e. E.T., Close Encounters). It is a great thing for father (Monster) and daughter (Alien) to spent time together laughing. There just aren't nearly enough of those experiences in life.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
