I had difficulty sitting through this very long movie. I thought it was boring. I'm not sure what all the hype is about. I'm a big fan of the series and have read and seen all the books and movies. This is my least favorite movie. There was so much left out from the book, and the PG rating restricted the movie-goers to experience some of the most intense parts of the book.

Overall, it was good - lots left out from the book but they can't include everything. The end left you wanting the next movies to come out quickly. I think they should've made two movies per book starting with the Goblet of Fire. Will buy when it comes out and would watch it again.

They outdid themselves with the Half Blood Prince! I expected some variations from the book, because again, how can you translate a 600 some page book completely into a movie! The most important essentials were included although in different locations and scenes. The action was intense, the special effects spectacular! I loved watching the romance and relationships develop. Ron's comic relief was hysterical! The best part was the hint that was given when Harry touched Marvolo's ring! I can't wait for the Deathly Hallows movies.

Overall I would say this has been one of the best HP movies, along with The Prisoner of Azkaban. One thing I would have wished they would have put in is the line One has to die for the other to live, which was important. And some scenes could have been a bit more dramatic, like Dumbledore dying. But you can't get everything from a movie, so it was very good. Can't wait for The Deathly Hallows.

This was a really good movie. Having read the entire series, I'm always slightly disappointed because there is always a lot of info left out. However, I do understand the concept of poetic license. All of the movies have been good but they all have had to choose what to put in and what to leave out. My only complaint was they never ever said the line that was most necessary....the one where one of them had to die in order for the other to live. That was very important to the death of Dumbledore. However, all in all, this was one of the best Potter movies so far and I will definately see it 2 or 3 more times as I have with all the others and it will be an addition to my collection of all the other movies that I have.

An enjoyable movie -- interesting/fun characters, very nicely filmed. I still enjoy watching the actors age over time, just as their characters do. I found the plot a bit harder to follow this time than in previous installments and had to ask my wife, who had read the book, for some clarification afterwards. Definitely sets the stage for Deathly Hallows, but I sympathize with Harry fanatics who will have to wait two years for final resolution, with that last book to be covered in two more movies!

After reading the books i feel that there are holes in the story that will be hard to fill for later parts of the adventure... But with that said, fantastic cinamatography great overall production. I enjoyed the movie, as a fan of the books...none of the movies can compare with them, but they are very enjoyable and intertaining. The actors are growing in body and in their craft, this movie as in this book is to set up the last of the series.... so there is a lot of information to impart. the special effects were terrific as always and the acting is great. I think if you've read the HB books, this movie is clearer, but even if you haven't, go see it , you won't be disappointed.

Of course, nothing can compare to the actual book, but I was very disappointed in just how much the film differed from the book itself. The teen drama factor was completely over exaggerated (though it did add some humor) and the action fell very short of the past films. A scene was added that didn't progress the story at all and the ending left me saying "That's it?" The acting was not at all the problem for me here. The whole cast went above and beyond by adding new dimensions to their characters. That aspect was great. It was the story line that really bothered me. I can understand how this set up would be easier to follow for those who do not read the series, but for the many many fans who do, this was a subpar adaptation.

If you are a devoted fan of the books prepare to be let down. The movie gives the essence of the book but leaves out a great deal ,much of which would be important for laying the groundwork for the Deathly Hallows. On the plus side it is beautifully filmed and the actors are better than ever. I hope they do better with Deathly Hallows but after seeing this I won't get my hopes up.

I have never read any Harry Potter book....so my review is strictly based on the movie itself and the previous Harry Potter movies. That caveat out of the way I can say that I really enjoyed the atmospherics in this movie. Loved the cinematography, special effects and CGI. They were seamless, not over-used & not a distraction to the story. The veteran actors are at their peak and the young primary stars are maturing as actors - they hold their own. Perhaps it is because I've not read the books - but this is the first HP movie that really impressed me. I'm looking forward to the next one! Only complaint is the slurring English dialect which is sometimes impossible to discern - especially in the first 30 minute of the film.

I'm a little torn by this installement in the Harry Potter series. On the one hand it does a great job of answering quesitons and setting up the final movie. On the other, the beginning was long, the rest was filled with unnecessary tangets, and totally missed interesting plot progressions. They spent too much time on the teenage love stuff and quiddich instead of giving more details on Snape and Tom Riddell. When it came to really important events, the film seemed to skip over them too quickly as if it had spent all its time on totally inanne details and now it had to catch up. Bottom line: you have to see because it sets up the next film and because its Harry Potter, but it's the weakest of the series.

Best Movie ever!! Though I have not heard anything about The Prince's Tale scenes for DH Part 2, this is the best movie ever!! You should go watch it. Only ONE scene added, but pretty much faithful to the book!

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is a wonderful film. It has everything we go to the movies for which is action, adventure, fantasy, romance, mystery and drama. The actors playing the characters have really done a good job and bring something new to roles they've been playing for nine years. Now, I know that when a book is converted into a movie certain plot points can be left out so that the movie doesn't take up too much time and that can upset a lot of fans, but I happen to think that the most important plot elements are in tact in this film and it is a terrific entertainment. I recommend it.

This movie was somewhat entertaining. Unlike the other movies where you take alot from them, all i took from this one was: Rons loud Bff, Hermoine loves Ron, Ring of fire, Dumbledore dies. I am by no means a proffessional critic. So check it out and write your own review.

Haven't read the books so my opinion is based solely on the movie. I thought this was the best of the Harry Potter movies so far. The humor was great and the movie kept my full attention from beginning to end. I loved it!

well.. i agree that it was an okay movie.. for someone who read the book and can still appreciate it for a movie was a little disappointed. it seemed a little disjointed and cut. when harry potter discovered it was a fake he simply said that it was a fake. they didnt even focus on the initials for too long.. and the castle fight?? where was that.. that really does make the action for the book.. and it shouldve been included because it just looked like everyone woke up when they heard one body fall down off a tower. plus, they settled for a bland hopeful ending instead of going with the grand finale funeral ending.. i loved it because the movie did a great job of getting all the main plots out but for the actual storytelling.. 6 outta 10
