From Wonderland to Darkland

There are some elements in this movie that are a bit too intense for small children. But, I think the movie is visually stunning, and Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are terrifically cast as the Mad Hatter and The Red Queen. I think CGI is here to stay and as long as the artists think of new and innovative ways to elaborate and make effects more interesting than it's worth watching these movies. Tim Burton is a dark and gothic director, but that's his style and craftsmanship. All in all, the characters are strangely good, the production design is top notch, the costumes are unique, and the cinematography is terrific. You will enjoy this movie if you like me are a movie lover.

The Hero's Journey Is Far From Over

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is a wonderful film. It has everything we go to the movies for which is action, adventure, fantasy, romance, mystery and drama. The actors playing the characters have really done a good job and bring something new to roles they've been playing for nine years. Now, I know that when a book is converted into a movie certain plot points can be left out so that the movie doesn't take up too much time and that can upset a lot of fans, but I happen to think that the most important plot elements are in tact in this film and it is a terrific entertainment. I recommend it.
