they didn't bring bill and fleur back into the plot so i'm guessing there will be no wedding in the seventh movie. i also dislike the fact that the invisibility cloak did not play a crucial part in the movie. harry potter does not trust snape. so why on earth would he willingly allow him to confront draco and dumbledore? they also changed how harry and ginny's relationship began tremendously. how are they going to make harry realize where the ravenclaw diadem is? in the movie harry finds the book to be evil after sectumsempra whereas in the actual book he defends the half blood prince until the end when he finds out its snape! and what the heck happened to levicorpus? I found the movie funny, but a disappointing tribute to the book.

The movie was really good but if you have already read the books you are going to be let down on some major left out scenes. Those that don't know what to expect will be 100% happy and thrilled with this new movie installment of Harry Potter. There are quit a few moments of laughter and you get to see Harry and the others as they are growing into young adults. But if you are like me and was expecting to see a movie that was as the book you are going to be a little angry when you leave.

J.K. Rowling does excellent character building in the book and the characters in the movie did not reflect the characters I've grown to love in the book. Essential parts from the book were left out and replaced with special effects scenes. From Harry's first kiss with Ginny to the death at the end of the movie, the movie has unnecessarily tweaked and changed important details. It lacked magic, chemistry between actors, and the genuinity of the book. As I reread the book before the movie, I thought to myself, "I can't wait to see this come to life on the big screen!" Unfortunately, I witnessed a butchering of the book come to life on the big screen. Worst movie thus far.

So were down to the last books and they come out with this movie. I was officially disapointed in the half blood prince due to the amount of romance portrayed . Delectable cinematic pleasure from Director David Yates and Company! Oh that they had been at the helm of every HP installment! This was thoughtful, funny, heartachingly human, and powerful. This movie could have been a lot better. I think the director left out too many important parts compared to the book, and i also wish they kept the same director that did the first two movies. Those are definitely the closest to the books compared to the other movies.

I went with my teenage daughter at midnight and am glad I did! This one was much funnier than any of the previous Harry Potter movies. I enjoyed the added young love issues. I read the book so long ago, I didn't even realize there were things missing. I will definitely see it again, just not at midnight!

This is probably the least fanciful seeming Harry Potter movie in terms of how the magic is presented. It shows the teenage angst through the want and desire to be loved and noticed. Seems to leave the magic forefront of the past movies behind for a real focus on the drama. This is by far one of the best in the series! I was so incredibly pleased with it!

I understand how difficult it is to make such an enormous book like Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince into a movie, but sometimes maybe it shouldn't be attempted. So much of the detail of the subplot of Severus Snape's upbringing and other small, seemingly insignificant parts of the book were left out of the movie that it all added up to be a sparse, badly written comedy movie. Once again, Daniel Radcliff failed to act better than he did when he was 11.

I thought the movie was GREAT! They put in alot of info as they could. If the other rater is such a fan they would realize the twin losing the ear didnt happen until the "Dealthly Hollows" in the first of the book. The movie was highly entertaining, but I couldn't help but be let down when the plot strayed from the books. I didn't think that the extra scene add it with the burrow was a great choice. What about the wedding next movie? If the Burrow is burned down then there wont be a wedding! Also some very important things were left out, like the big fight with the Order and D.A. vs. the death eaters and the fact that Dumbledore didn't tell Harry that he couldn't tell anyone about horcruxes. The movie was great I just wish it followed the book more closely.

I hate saying this, because I know that many are often disappointed with how a movie fails to represent the book its based upon - but I feel the 6th HP movie has done the worst job ever and for no reason. I understand the time constraints of creating a movie about a 650 page book will require some minor stories to be cut, BUT eliminating things like house-elves, ghosts and other parts of the wizarding world in the background of scenes that ARE kept is ridiculous!! I would've liked to have seen more depth from the characters. JKR writes so well you feel like you know these characters as friends. It is very difficult to do this and achieve a complicated story line in 2.5 hours. The costuming and SE were AWESOME! I can't wait to see it again in IMAX 3-D. Some truly funny and endearing scenes. Probably the "darkest" of all of the Harry Potter books. The movie reflects that. If you're a Harry Potter fan you absolutely have to see this movie. While there are some differences from the book (you have to expect that) I didn't think that they were huge or overly detrimental to the story. (Except the Burrow scene. It was not accurate & didn't help the story) I don't think you will be disappointed.

Considering all the information in the book I think the movie captured all the big items very well. The Burrow scene was a little odd... I wished there was a better fight scene. It was funny fast moving and SO much better than The Order of the Phoenix.

Ok as a huge HP fan, all of them up to this one have been off the charts! Sorry guys but I walked out of the theater with an empty feeling. Don't get me wrong it lived up to the HP graphics and all and yes the sense of humor was great, but the build up to the plot was not their for me. As like the other HP movies each one held their own story wise, but this one it was more like if you didn't read the book to get it then you wouldn't have a clue what the heck was happening. Wow. As a long time Harry Potter fan, I can say that I truly loved this movie. Despite the fact that they changed too much from the books, I still saw it as the great movie it was. The acting has gotten better as the story has progressed and the cinematography was amazing. David Yates, the director, while taking artistic liberty and removing a number of scenes, really brought the world of Harry Potter alive in a new way. Overall, amazing.

I am a huge HP fan, and to say that I was looking forward to this movie would be an understatement. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. There was a lot more humor / teen angst in this movie than I expected, but it worked very very well. The effects and camera techniques were spot on and very interesting. Though the plot did stray from the book at times, I felt this movie did a good job at taking in a LOT of information. Naturally, a few things were going to be left out, but I was very thrilled by how much was left in. This is one of the few movies where I was happy it was over two hours long; I just didn't want it to end. It was awesome.

Every time I go see one of the harry potter movies I always say it was the best one, well this one yet again left me saying that it was the best one so far. The whole movie was exciting and I could barely find a dull moment to leave the theater to go to the bathroom through out the almost 3 hour movie.

They left a lot of things out. Harry never learned how to use spells without saying the spell out loud. Dumbledore never visited Harry's aunt and uncles house. They never talked about Harry being an adult in the wizarding world.
I don't know if they had a time limit on how long the movie could be, but if thats the case they did a good job. This movie was to prepare Harry Potter fans for the Deathly Hollows..
Best Harry Potter movie yet.

I first went to see this movie last night at the midnight showing. I left feeling very disappointed, almost angry, that I had waited this long and got a movie that had very little to do with the book. I did not want to not like this movie. But, I still had tickets for an afternoon showing today. I dreaded sitting there for another two and a half hours watching a movie I didn't like. I had to find another approach and decided that this time, I would not watch the movie and think about the book. I'll be damned if it didn't work! I had spent so much time last night focusing on what the movie DID NOT have that I never allowed myself to enjoy what it DID have. When I stopped doing that, suddenly the movie wasn't so bad.

It was decent but it jumped right in to the story and the ending was poo, it felt like nothing happened. It was pretty funny overall, good graphics and suspense.

i liked the movie. the book was obviously better but there are tons of pages of discriptions. i think thats what people need to realize. the movie still potrayed the book in a facinating way and i am excited for the seventh movie & book !
